Nausea After Lapband Surgery??

I struggled with postop nausea until I was allowed to eat some soup. I think mine was from too much sweet, artificial "food" (shakes etc) my body wanted some real food.
2. Something to do with air pressure probably but I'm not a science geek so not sure. If you hadn't started by saying you went to a concert I was going to say it was ringing because it's Christmas!
3. Mine was never a decision to finally lose the weight. I had been trying to lose the weight most of my life. Sometimes I was successful, sometimes I wasn't but the problem was it always went back on. Also it was getting harder and harder to lose any at all. So mine was a realisation that I needed help to lose and keep the weight off, that it wasn't something I could do on my own.

3 Weeks Into Lap Band Journey, Nsv

Don't be embarrassed, I was very happy when the same happened to me
5. I don't think I was in any way offensive or rude. I was genuinely concerned but because this is the internet it is not possible for you to see the body language , expressions etc which leaves posts open to misinterpretation. If you are sticking to your plan then all is good. Wishing you all the best and don't worry you will soon be able to add more variety to your diet.
6. As the others have said a noisy stomach does not = hunger. Mine makes noises all the time, it is something you get used to. Please don't take my next comment the wrong way but I am a little concerned about you. You have just been banded and a lot of your posts seem to involve looking for ways to eat more, jump ahead of the eating plan etc. I am concerned that you may not be receiving the support that you need at this stage of the process or that your Dr may not have given you all the info on the post op diet that you need. At this stage of the process it is important that you follow the plan and do not jump ahead but the other thing to remember is that your current focus is on healing not weight loss. Eat or drink the things that you are allowed and do so in sufficient quantities so that you are not hungry. Most Dr's allow foods at this point that are not allowed later on because they are high cal/sliders e.g custard, icecream etc. The thing that helped me most were homemade veggie Soups with beans/lentils/chickpeas added for extra Protein and then blended until smooth. They tasted like food which all the shakes and sweet stuff didn't. If you are struggling and want to eat something that is not on your plan then the best thing to do is to ask your Dr if it is OK. If you ask on a site like this 50% of people will say yay and the other 50% nay - but none of us are responsible for your health so these are just opinions.Your Dr always knows what is best for you.
7. Just eat normal food. That is what we do in Aus and the band still works for us. The only time I used protein shakes was the preop diet.
8. Why not have a glass of milk instead of a protein shake.
9. The gas is not inside your stomach/digestive system so things such as Gas X will have no effect. The gas is within the body cavity and lodges in all sorts of strange places - take the painkillers that your surgeon has prescribed - they are there to help you.
10.

Your band is working fine at the moment - why try fixing something that isn't broken?

11. My surgeon explained before I had to do a trip that Fluid in your band does not expand whilst in the air. An empty band is more likely to give you problems. I have flown a number of times since being banded - long trips where I had to fly 12 - 13 hours and had no problems with my band whatsoever. If the worst does come to the worst and your band feels tight it will resolve as soon as you touch down. The safest thing to do is request a special diet e.g Soup. If it is a short flight you don't have to eat anything - just eat before you take off and stay hydrated whilst you are flying. If you are in the green zone you shouldn't get anything taken out. Sometimes it can be hard to get to the right spot again.
12. That is almost 3kg a month. I can't see why anyone would complain about that.

They Called Me A Milf!!!

I do too, it's crude and disrespectful but it is still a major compliment.

Settle Our Food Argument!

Bubbles don't stand the freezing process - so even if it was carbonated originally it isn't after it has been frozen.

The Lap Band Really Works!!!!

It is unlikely that you will continue to lose at this rate, that would be unrealistic and unhealthy. It is natural for your weight loss to slow down and when it does you shouldn't get depressed or despondent. What you are having now is a head start or boost. Normal weight loss should be 1 - 2lb per week. You may sometimes lose more than that but you shouldn't expect to on a regular basis. Congrats on your weight lost so far.
16. I can eat most meats if they are roasted. Then they are usually OK but really dense things e.g pork chops give me problems.
17. On my preop phase there was no "tinkering" allowed. It had to be a meal replacement shake twice a day and some plain low carb veggies in the evening and that was it. I got through it the same way as most other people by keeping the end goal in sight. I have never managed to stick to a meal replacement diet before but this time it was easier as I knew it wasn't going to be forever.

Nsv I Have To Share

Congrats. I am sure that made you feel great.
19. I actually think the opposite is true. People I know who have had to have an unfill for whatever reason say that it is really hard to get back to the level of restriction they had previously even with the same amount or more fill.
20. Eat yes. Eat junk no. Stick with healthy food. You need to get your mind back in the right place.Even when you have a fill the band won't do everything as it is only a tool. You are still in charge of what you choose to put in your mouth so the sooner you get used to that and the sooner you start making healthy choices and taking some responsibility the better and the more likely you are to be successful.

Want A Lap Band Unfill

I agree. Bands should not be adjusted at whim just so a person can eat more. But if you cannot eat meat then you are way too tight and need to rethink the way that you are using your band.
22. Yes you need to see your Dr pretty urgently. In the meantime suck crushed ice - it helps to reduce the swelling.
23. You will probably have to have homemade veggie soups with lentils or chickpeas or similar added for protein.
