Meeting a friend for lunch. Probably a bit overdressed. I should be wearing heels but its winter and they are all too loose! I also think I need some but and boob lifting underwear

I could understand if she hadn’t had surgery but when she has been through it herself it seems very odd

I don’t have one initially but I got taken back into theatre a couple of hours after my op so they inserted one then. It definitely made life easier not having to get out of bed for a couple of days.

That’s annoying. I also had an unexpected cost and I’m covered by PHI in Australia. I got taken back into theatre as there was concern that I had a bleed. No additional cost from the hospital or surgeon but I had to pay a second out of pocket fee for the anaesthetist!

Found out what happens if you don't eat every few hours
elcee replied to Ellf's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
Yes low blood sugar symptoms are horrible. Tired, weak, shaky. They can come on quite quickly. I have had a number of times when I’ve been out and had to go and grab something from the supermarket because I feel horrible -
Whar is occasionally daily? Daily isn’t occasionally it’s regularly.

Revision from sleeve to mini bypass 8/2/2019
elcee replied to SassyOne2's topic in Revision Weight Loss Surgery Forums (NEW!)
I’m surprised that you are revising to the mini bypass if you have severe gerd, one of the potential side effects is severe bile reflux. Generally RNY is regarded as the best option for patients with GERD -
How to choose a realistic goal weight
elcee replied to ValerieInMexico's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I think it is important to aim for something in the healthy BMI range. That gives you quite a wide range to choose from. Personally I can’t see the point of putting yourself through surgery and then stopping at a weight that is still in the overweight or obese range. But once you start losing and getting closer to your goal you can reassess. You will probably find yourself pleasantly surprised -
Are you sure you haven’t picked up a bug, it might be an idea to go and see your Dr and get checked

You are trying to look like your profile pic! I’m jealous that you’ve still got boobs, mine have shrunk immensely.

Your taste buds change and they keep changing so don’t stock up on heaps of stuff presurgery

Why would anyone go through surgery designed to help them get healthier and then continue to smoke.

What meats are you eating 6 weeks post op
elcee replied to kitty0422's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was able to eat all meats at that stage. I haven’t really struggled with any which is a complete contrast to when I had my band -
Where will you be 9 months from now?
elcee replied to KT1981's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Hopefully maintaining -
Wow, that’s cutting it a bit fine. Fingers crossed that it all comes through in time

Jealous of all these little skimpy outfits. It’s winter here in Aus and it’s cold, wet and miserable. If I post a photo I will probably look like the abominable snowman, that’s once I manage to drag myself out of my nice warm bed.

Your surgeon should have given you info that gives percentages of complications. Generally they are pretty low.

Revision from Lap-band to gastric sleeve.
elcee replied to Alex_1990!'s topic in Revision Weight Loss Surgery Forums (NEW!)
I would get a second opinion. You are better off delaying this so you can make the right decision. You don’t want to have to go through another revision later on -

Revision from Lap-band to gastric sleeve.
elcee replied to Alex_1990!'s topic in Revision Weight Loss Surgery Forums (NEW!)
You have bad reflux you need to avoid the sleeve, it can make it worse. It seems strange that your surgeon would revise you to a sleeve with your reflux history. Generally the recommended route would be to have a Roux en Y Gastric Bypass.
