How do you know when you are at the "Sweet Spot"?
lapdog replied to Phranp's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I might be wrong, but I don't know if everyone will reach a sweet spot. i'm at 8cc on a 10cc band. I was there for 2 weeks then I could eat way more than I should be able to. Next fill coming up in a little over a week, thinking about 1/2 cc. At present I can eat a lb of food easily, so I hope the next fill will be the one. I also can have a problem eating nectarines,lol.. The deal with chasing the sweet spot is if you overshoot it then there will be a problem to deal with. Best of luck to all. -
Hello and yes. I have a 10cc band, the 1st fill was 4cc then a 2cc, next fill is on 7-15. At this rate I am worried that it will be very easy to regain the weight. I wished I was like the people who say they can only eat small amounts, to be honest that is what I expected from the band. The problem is when I quit eating before I'm full then I want to snack between meals. Either 1 of these things is not good. The only time I felt like I should watch the volume was right after surgery when the stoma is tramitized.

I have read post where people express that they can only eat small amounts. As for me it has been that I can eat almost as much as preop. Tonite I decide to eat slow and see where I would start getting full at. I had a 10 oz steak 6 shrimp 1/2 bead 1/2 of the home fries and a small serving of veggies before I got full enough to want to quit. Up to this point I have lost over 40 lbs but by mostly haveing protein shakes in replacement of solid food. This seems like way to much and makes me wonder about the size of my pouch. Any one else in the same boat? Regards.

Hello. I have had food hang about 4 x, it makes me slime and I have throwed up once, like you said not a good feeling but it makes you learn fast, most always its lettuce. I have 1 of those hand choppers and use it every time I eat lettuce now, seems to work pretty good.

Banded on 3-5. I have had 2 fills, the 1st was 4 cc, two days ago I got another 2 cc, total of 6 cc on a 10 cc band. My weight is down 41 lbs and I will probably need 1 more fill to find the sweet spot. The only food I have had a problem with getting stuck is romain lettuce. After the first fill if I wanted to get good results I had to modify my eating from 1 shake in the morning and 2 meals to 2 shakes and 1 meal, this seems to work good. Hopeing this 2nd fill will help with me being able to eat 2 meals and still lose weight.

I believe the band is sewed to the gut and should not slip under normal conditions. Drinking lots of water is a key to losing weight if your doing all the other things correctly.

Well its been a little over 2 months and I'm down 34 lbs with about 36 to go. I had a fill at 4cc. For me I don't need another fill the restriction is there. I find that what I can eat 1 day may not go down the next. The slimming is not to good with the pain of food being stuck. I was on protein shakes when I lost the most weight. I went to a morning shake and 2 meals and didn't lose weight till I dropped a meal. For those with fills coming up be careful not to overfill or you will have problems. Good luck to all.

Hello, had my 1st band fill about 2 weeks back, 4cc on a 10cc band. Yesterday and today is the first time I had a problem eating, so much I couldn't finish because of the restriction. I had to have a protein shake instead of food. Can a band get tighter or could it be just my eating habits are getting a little slack? Thanx.:smile2:

A small incision scar and a bump where the port is located. A small price to pay for the results we get.

Perception, if we think more of ourselves then we should see less of ourselves. -
Hello, I had my 1st fill yesterday mon, the 13th. The area was deadened and the only discomfort I felt was the rush of saline solution into the band. I did keep my eyes shut so I couldn't see the needle.

I hate it when the dr says is all you will feel is a pinch, then it usually hurts like hall. If it was them i'm sure they would deaden it a little.

My 1st fill will be 4cc. I hope i will feel some restriction. After the fill i may start back on some food. I now have the protein shakes 3x a day and for a snack either some salsa or low fat cottage cheese.
