did my dr really band me?
TMD22 replied to tsunami1967's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
during the liquid phase my doctor had me on 4 medifast shakes, puddings or creamed soups a day and 2 6oz pureed soups such as pea, lentil or cream of tomatoe; I was fine, I ate about every 2-3 hours and could hardly get all 6 meals in. try it, the medifast is high protein. -
What is going in with my body!

I was given a great diet of 4-6 oz every 2-3 hours 6 times a day; 4 of those meals need to be a Medifast shake, pudding or soup and the other two meals are pureed soups of your choice (even chicken noodle soup). I felt a little need for something extra today for the first time (today is the first day of my period). Other than today I haven't felt hungry once (and I am 300 lbs). I took two tablespoons of mandarin orange salad dressing and that took off my urge for something savory. So, actually, I wasn't hungry, I was craving. -
:notagreeI started my liquid pre op diet one day early; I was home from work today and thought it would be easy to try different drinks and soups to see what I like and figure what would be easiest to transport to work. I went out and bought a small blender to puree for post op. I think I was at 1500 calories today and feel good about it; I am most worried about eating at work. I work with people who always have chocolate, bagels, cakes and ice cream around. I don't like alot of sweets, so I am going to bring extra beef broth with me and drink that when I get the urge to pick. I am praying I can make it through the week. Very nervous that I won't stick to the post op diet at work. I haven't told everyone at work what I am planning, once I do I think I will see less junk food around me; they are caring people.
