My nutrtionalist said I wasn't getting in enough calories, that why the weightloss has slowed. Plus I need another fill. B omlet 3 tbs egg white 1 slice of ham and 1 tbs cheddar cheese 2 tbs salsa 2 cups of coffee L turkey and cheese lunchable 8 slices each 4.5 oz peach yogart w/ 1 tbs granola S 10 small shrimp with cocktail sauce D 1 chicken wing w/ mashed potato and corn Water should have drank more exercise 30 min on elliptical (my calves are killing me) lol

Ok today wasn't to bad but I should have got in more exercise... Well today was ok, I guess... B Didn't eat cause I woke up way to late.. but I did get 1/2 shot of my protien in 21 grams L had Breakfast food 2 eggs w/ 1 tbs chopped ham and 1 tbs shredded cheese S FruitaBu strawberry organic smooshed fruit D 4 oz steak 1/3 cup of green bean casserole 1/4 cup of mac salad after dinner I did have a tiny slice of cake only 2 bites. Water plenty exercise didn't walk cause of the rain but did do 30 min on elliptical

I am going to start posting my food logs on here maybe tomorrow or maybe monday. Maybe I should jut steal your logs cause they are better than mine. LOL I had my first fill Sept 9th and still have little restriction, doc said I could come back in 2 weeks for another fill and I plan to. I do keep up with my exercise. Power Walk at least 2 miles a day and 15-20 min a day on my elliptical. I know I def could get more water in. My weight loss has been pretty good I think. And I am happy with it. Right now is my TOM so I will weigh myself when I am done and hopefully will have lost...LOL Well hopefully I remember to post tomorrow... See ya then, Jennifer

I actually had my first fill today.. I was extremely nervous too. It kind of scared me to see the size of the needle, But I actually didn't feel a thing. Not even the needle going in. I am kinf od numb in the area where my port is located so it was painless and over in seconds. I forgot to ask how many cc's he put in and I get to go back in 2 weeks for another if needed. So we will see. You will be nervous, but once you get your first fill you will understand there is nthing to be nervous about.... Jennifer

I waited 5 days. Doc didn't give me any type of restriction. I dunno if I could have waited any longer... LOL

I was wondering if the doc will give me my first fill even though I have lost 21 lbs in 5 weeks? I go next week for my fill. I do have some restriction but not like I should. I have been waiting 6 weeks for this and I will be mad if he says no. If I can lose 21 lbs in 5 weeks with barely no restriction, I can't wait till I get full restriction..... Jennifer

Are you still having gas pains in your shoulder too? I am too. It is worse if I am hungery or if I have eaten to much. I am damned if I do and damned if I don't. LOL Granted I don't get the gas pains as bad as I used to but as soon as I think they are gone forever, here they come back....

When some of you guys say "snacking" what type of snacking are you talking about. My nutritionalist suggest snacking. Thing like string cheese, Peanut Butter on crackers, cottage cheese, thing of that nature. Protein things. Now eating, what the army calls "Fatty Cakes" like Little Debbies and such is different. Now I do struggle with drinking with meals only because I like spicy stuff. I always was one to almost drink more at dinner than eat. I have never been a fan of soda but really sweet tea was my choice. I stay away from that now and am the biggest fan of Water... I would go through atleast 2 1/2 glasses when going out to dinner. Now I just order water and maybe drink 4 or 5 sips, so I think I am doing very well. I am almost 6 weeks post op and will be having my first fill next week and couldn't be more happy. Almost lost 20 lbs in 6 weeks. I must be doing something right!!!! Jennifer

I know what you mean. One day I was standing in the kitchen with my hubby and I went to get a couple Fig Newtons. 2 to be exact. Well he looked at me and said. "Tisk tisk tisk you shouldn't be eating that" I said "There is only 1.5 grams of fat and only 90 cal in 2 fig newtons" He was like like "Whatever, its your decision" I was so pissed off I crumbled the cookies up and threw them at him and left. I had to leave for work anyway. Maybe I was more mad at myself, but usually I could literally sit down and eat a sleeve of fig newtons. And now all I was having was 2. He hasn't said anything to me like that since then.... LOL I have another friend who everytime I see them they ask me "How much weight have you lost?" I am only 4 weeks out and it is sort of annoying. I have lost 16 lbs, so I feel pretty good about it but the way she asks kind of gets on my nerves. I told her my real weight loss will start after I get a fill. Then I had to explain to her what a fill was and stuff. She only knows about gastric and I think she is compairing. I get my fill in 2 weeks so hopefully the weight will start dropping better and I can rub it into her face... LOL I probably won't but it would be funny... Kind of... LOL Jennifer

Surgery: 245 (July 28th) Today: 230.4 The scale isn't moving... ARG.. It will be 4 weeks tomorrow. I get my first fill Sept. 9th so hopefully the scale will move again shortly.....

I was banded July 28th and will be having my first fill Sept. 9th. I wish it would have been sooner but I have almost lost 20 lbs since surgery, so I am actually happy with that. Just hoping that when I get my first fill the weight will come off faster....LOL Jennifer

If you don't mind me asking.. What is the couch to 5k challenge?? I have a tredmill and an elliptical at home. I usually do those at home and then do my walk/run in the evenings. I don't have the funds right now to do the gym. Plus I work through the week and my kids are in school so it would be hard for me to get to the gym anyway. I have lost almost 20 lbs and Tuesday was my 3 week since surgery....

I was given morphine in the hospital. I have never had it before either. They give it to you in such a low dose that there isn't such a loopy feeling. I just slept afterwards. They gave me morphine every 4 hours. When I went home they gave me liquid Vicoden(sp). It wasn't really bad. I was super sad when I ran out of my liquid vicoden... LOL but I am glad I did have it. I haven't thrown up but I wanted to so bad the other night. I had some awful heartburn and I know its bad but before the band the only way to get rid of the acid in my tummy was to vomit it up. Well I had my hiatal hernia fixed during surgery so I thought the reflux would stop. I was kind of freak'n out cause I didn't know what to do. I called the doc after 3 days of this painful refulx just to find he was on vacation. But to my suprise he called me back and I went to his office and got prevacid. I took it for one day and no more heartburn. Thanks goodness cause I was on the verge of making myself vomit to release the pain. But I was so scared.... Jennifer

Gas-X won't really work because the gas is not in your actual stomic.. It is in your stomic cavity.... The gas just has to work out..... Walking usually helps...

I know how you feel. I was banded 7/28 and I am still having bad spells with the shoulder pain. It just comes out of no where. I know it is from the gas and we should walk walk walk. That is all everyone says. It isn't as bad anymore but when one pains comes along it sucks.... LOL

OMG I have had heartburn for the last 3 days now and nothing is working to get rid of it. I tried calling my doc but he will be out of the office till the 14th. Before being banded the only way to get relief from this feeling was to vomit the acid out of my stomic. I don't know how I can do that now that I am banded. I am pretty sure the doc left some saline in the band when he placed it. I don't know what to do. With the insurance I have I can't just go to any other doc. I don't know if I can wait till the 14th...... Jennifer

Well I just got ahold of my doc and he said this sometimes happened when transitioning from liquid to puree. I am going into his office to get some sample heartburn meds from his nurse. He said it should not last more than a week if it does than I will have to get the 1cc of fluid that is in the band taken out but he has never had that happen so soon after being banded. I hope the meds work.... Jennifer
