Any Kansas City bandsters???????

Yum, I am full of envy! Just a tip that sauce will be your friend when you get more restriction. I order mine on the side and can use it if I need it. -
If you could move your port would you?
mominkansas replied to mominkansas's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Choices I am considering are Below breastbone or in its current place which to the left of the belly button. -
Any Kansas City bandsters???????
mominkansas replied to ladykcusa's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Jason I have to have my whole band replaced and I am anxious to have it done. I obviously have NO reservations. Who is doing your surgery? -
Kll724 have you tried just the tops of asparagus? I can't eat the stalks but can eat the tops. I did mourn food at first but now I really take note of calories. A snickers bar would take me over an hour to burn off and at this point that just isn't worth it to me.

emergency surgery covered, replacement DENIED
mominkansas replied to luv2laugh's topic in Insurance & Financing
Did they pay for the replacement as well? Your post hit home for me. I also have UHC and had a prolapse. I meet with my doctor tomorrow to look at my options. -
What's the reason for the lifting restriction post-op?
mominkansas replied to metimeis2010's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Your port stitches need to heal totally before you can or should lift things. If they don't your port MAY come loose and could possibly(though not always)flip. -
I prolapsed again yesterday and had to get the band unfilled and meet with a surgeon in the next couple of weeks. My practice says if you prolapse 2 times it will continue to happen and the band needs to be switched out. My stitches holding the flap on my band could have become loose or my body could be rejecting the band. according to my doctor this is the only realize band that they have seen this happen to. Either way I have to really watch it. I don't know what to say. This prolapse came out of the blue. No throwing up or PB'ing. The good news is it it sounds like they are going to be committed to finding a solution for me. The bad news really depressed. I have no desire to anywhere not even to Easter with my family. I did everything right. I have no idea why this happened.

mominkansas replied to gospelkidbanded's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
How did they fix it? -
do you guys have a savers in your area? I swear by them and have gotten some amazing things from there, most under $6.

I wouldn't puree my food either I had mashed potatoes, chocolate pudding, cottage cheese, and yogurt.

What are you making/taking to Easter dinner
mominkansas posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Ideas would be great. We were invited to a Easter gathering where they are going to have ribs, rice, etc. I need to make something that I myself could eat and would love some suggestions. Few people know that I have been banded. -
I am seriously stuck. I have changed up my food, changed up my work out though this week I think I will put 12 hours in at the gym instead of my regular 10, and still weigh the same every single morning. I promised myself that I would not be overweight when all was said and done, but I am 3 pounds BMI wise till I get in the normal weight category. I do think I need a fill as I mentioned before I don't think I have great restriction as I did a few months ago when I had a complete unfill. Have you ever started over doing liquids then back to mushy's, etc to jump start weight loss? Any other suggestions?

About to give up...
mominkansas replied to Dawnana's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Though your doc can request you pay for the COPY fee for your records, they have to give them to you. I would find a new doc. Don't burn any bridges till you find a new doc, but I think the new port thing is BS. What happens if you have an emergency? Are you going to wait in his office for 2 hours for him to see you? I had a prolapse and my tech lecctured me on why I waited so long to call him. You need to find someone that takes your band seriously so you can feel better! -
I would say egg drop soup and possibly some crab rangoons

2 pounds on 2 pounds off......frustrated!!
mominkansas replied to Megg40's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I agree 400 calories is not enough, but its tricky at the liquid stage since things are salty and nothing sounds great at this stage that you can eat. your body is just learning a ton of new things, be patient and you will glide past the weight that you are battling right now. -
Are you eating the right things that are not famous for getting stuck? Are you chewing to make sure food is small enough?

I found that my band had slipped yesterday. I had most of my Fluid removed. My band slipped Monday so it was taken care of quickly. Today I feel 99% better but have occasional pain in my stomach area. I suspect that it is my stomach moving back into position. The tech that did my fill seemed to think that my stomach would return to normal. It was already starting to move back while I was under fluro. How often is this not the case? Finally how do you stay good with almost no restriction? thanks!

I was in the store today and they have a great weekly exersise/food tracker to go in your planner for under $5. Looks great as it also has you keep track of your water as well. Thought I would share!

I had a port issue and had to have it restitched in. The port revision surgery was pretty simple and fairly easy to recover from.

Need to exercise......
mominkansas replied to marfar7's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Lately I am working out 7 days a week, 2 hours a day. I am trying to overcome a plateau. -
I am going though this as well. I go down and then up the next morning. I've stepped it up at the gym, upped my water, and written down EVERYTHING that I've eaten
-
I'm interested in what you named your band and why!

Health care reform passed
mominkansas replied to kirafiki's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My son is 6 and asthmatic, my mom died of BC at 32 years old. At the moment I am self employed and can not qualify for health insurance so my husband works a job he can't stand to help keep insurance for us. We got life insurance and my 250K policy is 2x as much as my husband's 1M policy. Both of us were overweight when we did the policies, its all my risks that screwed me. -
