Fell off.......
mominkansas replied to outside*looking*in's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You know a tip that I got after I was banded was to keep eating the foods I liked while I still could in moderation. Natural progression will only allow you to eat some foods for a certain amount of time. Eventually bagels, steak, bread, etc will be difficult for you to eat. I am not saying to eat a dozen bagels in one sitting but still you almost have to wean yourself off the foods you love. In reality your band will help you with this. I wish I would have "indulged" in the foods I could no longer eat. -
ideas for Mayo substitute
mominkansas replied to TracyNYC's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I agree that you should just use what you like, but if you want a substitute why not do half mayo and half cottage cheese(good protein too!) blended till smooth? -
Sick of protein shakes!
mominkansas replied to ldsparnell's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Why not make your own? I make an awesome Protein shake that I use as a Meal Replacement. Strawberries, bananas, Orange juice, a little NF frozen yougurt, ice and protein powder. I also make one with bananas, PB, and some other stuff. I too got sick of the protein shakes and the sodium made me temp gain a pound anytime I drank one(the costco ones). This for me is a much better alternative! -
I had a prolapse which is less serious than a slip. I couldn't even get Water down and I felt like I had an elephant sitting on my chest. I notice some unusual aches and pains I didn't have before banding and occasionally I still get them today though less frequently. I was banded May of last year.

Do you have chocolate viactiv? Maybe sub two of those at night to help your calcium intake while getting a tiny amount of chocolate?

Protien Shakes (Warning: Maybe TMI)
mominkansas replied to TN_girl21's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
sugar, either real or artificial sweeteners? I got rid of all of mine and now if I eat sweets I have loose stools within 30 minutes. -
When I had my prolapse I started with the coughing and then got to the point I couldn't keep water down. I wouldn't want to go through that hell on the weekend. I would see if you could get in just to be safe before the weekend.

Can't quite figure this out.
mominkansas replied to Just-Ice's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am actually 2 pounds up from my low due to an unfill because of prolapse. I see people weekly that swear that I am shrinking before their eyes. They saw me at that low weight and I still got compliments from the same people 2 weeks later and 10 pounds heavier. You are replacing your fat with muscle which weighs more and shows on the scale. A tape measure will work wonders for your ego which we need every once in a while! -
Port Pain with Working Out
mominkansas replied to ta0726's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I work out 3-5 days a week and was banded in May as well. I still have port pain at times. i just take it a little easier, especially with weights which is a huge focus for me right now. -
Done standing or lying down. My tech does standing fills which I have heard are quite a bit more accurate and not done as often as fills where you are lying down. Wondered what you had done

Going on a cruise in July, would Dr. lossen band for just that week ?
mominkansas replied to robin32470's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
This is stuff you should have gone through and thought of before you were banded. If you had a good doc he wouldn't do it. July is a long time from now, you will get to know your band really well before July. -
Onederland!
mominkansas replied to Startingoverat50's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A

mominkansas replied to ladykcusa's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I go to WL surgical center's meetings otherwise I would love a support group, I believe that they are worthwhile! -
So It's True...Haters will emerge as you lose!
mominkansas replied to titiay30's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
No one has outwardly mentioned my WL but I do notice several friends that have drifted off to never never land. My friends don't all know that I had this done, and when you get positive feedback and your friends are standing there listening, it doesn't go quite as planned. I guess I have to look at it as not having quite as much in common as some of my friends. I don't focus my life around food anymore, I don't really enjoy food and eating, there are days I have to remind myself to eat(almost all days), and I tend to spend about 10 hours a week at the gym. -
I don't think of it as a slider. Meat, cottage cheese, and ricotta have a ton of protein
-
cutting you down only makes her feel better. Let it roll off your back, and soon you will whizz by her as you go down on the scale!
-
Don't get me wrong, both a slip and a prolapse are not good.
-
I have had a port flip and a prolapse(Not a slip as first thought). According to my PA he has yet to see a slip with realize(the band I have) so I think slips are a little less common than what we think. The prolapse and from what I hear slip is something that could not wait because of discomfort. Hope its nothing serious.

Does anyone consider refried beans a slider? I seem to get full eventually but wonder if it is more because it is heavier food. I've gained a few pounds since I added it in so I wondered.

give me your quick and easy lunch ideas please....
mominkansas replied to Whillow's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I get some of those Tuna or chicken salad kits from Adli's and keep them in my desk drawer at the office. I do lots of salad, Cottage cheese with Mandrin oranges, Ham or turkey rolled around string cheese, -
Any Kansas City bandsters???????
mominkansas replied to ladykcusa's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
b9409 I was banded at WL surgical center as well. I can not say enough positive things about them. Do they still do your fills? ladyKCUSA, good luck tomorrow! I will be thinking of you. -
Refried beans a slider food?
mominkansas replied to mominkansas's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I use the Old El Paso FF beans with some salsa or Enchilada sauce and a pinch of lowfat shredded cheese. -
Protein - help skin adjust?
mominkansas replied to Awkward customer's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I think that exercise does help but won't totally eliminate saggage. I have my skin rebounding better, before it looked like I was wearing someone elses skin. I want to know how the people on biggest loser do it. All of the ones I remember have perfect arms and nice tummies when they come for the final weigh in. -
Not so fat burger wrapped in lettace?
