Actually, I thought the poll showed that it was a majority that was either fine with things as they are, or with being able to hide given forums. The minority was the group that didn't want the threads in the top 5 or new posts.

My sleep doctor said that we'd retest when I'd lost about 100 pounds, then again when I'm at goal. He did reduce my pressure a bit at 50 pounds down, didn't re-test, just moved it down a bit and said if I felt OK and the machine showed few episodes I was fine.

Thanks - I had about .2 taken out as well and it was a good thing!

Banded at Northwest Weight Loss (Everett)

Not very often. I know they have them once a month, and I've been to a few, but I always seem to end up with a conflict. -
Banded at Northwest Weight Loss (Everett)
lisah25 replied to Evilah's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I was about 9 months ago. Any specifics you are looking for? -
I went in today for a small unfill. And yep, I was too tight. I figured that out after ending up in the ER yesterday morning. I thought I was having a heart attack. Pain and pressure in my chest, clammy, nauseous, pain in my jaw and my back. I did a stress echo test, it came back just fine, so we think I had an esophegial spasm, probably triggered by being too tight. It's nice to be able to eat and drink again today.

I totally agree, that's kind of what I was trying to say in my last post. -

And the thing is, the RNR section is part of the experience of this board now. Sooner or later, newbies are going to see those threads anyway, and have to decide how they want to deal with them. -
OK, I made an impulse decision and stopped on my way home last night. Kinda glad I did before reading more here :heh: It really wasn't bad at all. Stung for a minute or two, then fine. They did my chin too, and that was OK. A little red for a couple of hours, but by the time I went to bed it was all find. She did a really good job, they still look natural just neater, exactly what I wanted. I'm getting to be such a diva! First pedicures, now this. Hum, manicures might be next.

Seattle Area Pre-post Banders Here!
lisah25 replied to Evilah's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
There are three doctors there, they do lap-band exclusivly. According to their website, they've done more then 2400 bands between them. I really like their follow-up and they are all really nice at the clinic. The VG band refers to the size band. -
Cant get over the hump...this cant be the end!

Bingo! I figure my DH's aunt who was banded almost 2 years ago, had one fill, and doesn't look a bit different to me even though she claims to have lost 70 pounds will make up for me losing all I want to!:heh: -
Exactly, I just wanted to be sure I knew what I was saying also!
-
That's a good point. Candidates identifiy by party, and so when we vote for them, so do we to some extent. I do vote both Dem and Rep, but more Dems.
-
Bingo - I wouldn't find it an improvement.

Lauren got closer to what I meant. All boards will have pros and cons, and are driven by all of us who post on them. They will change over time as membership changes, according to what we want. We won't of course always agree, and what I was trying to say is that no site can be all things to all people. It takes communication about what we all want and working out how to do that. And someone isn't going to be happy no matter what is decided. Is that clearer?
-
I honestly think most of us are indeed moderates. I think we pick a label like Dem or Rep that we feel closest too, but almost no one I know agrees 100 with either side.
-
I deleted my message, it really wasn't worded well and didn't say what I was thinking. I'm sorry!
-
OK, I'm clearly not being clear. Sorry, I didn't mean that at all.

I was just getting a pedicure yesterday - my tip for feeling girly and pretty! - and another woman came in and got her eyebrows waxed. Started me thinking about doing it. So, any tips?! I'm a bit scared of the whole idea, I don't even tweeze them now.
-
I tried really hard to avoid suggesting anyone leave. My point was and is that a board reflects those on it as much as anything. What I actually wanted to add is that I think it's great to bring up suggestions and talk about them.
-
I like the RNR posts as much as the support posts, and so I like seeing them on the new posts. I'm sorry if any newbies are turned off by that, but they are part of the board here.

I have a resturant card, and have had it honored a couple of times, but I find there isn't much on the kids menu in most places that I want. I tend to order stuff I know will good as leftovers and just take much of it home. I like getting 3 meals from one! -
OMG! Scared doctor will reprimand me?

Hi Esther, I'll bet you money that you won't be the first patient of his, nor the last to come in having learned some hard lessons, and not having lost what you had hoped too. His job is to help you figure out what you can do differently to get the results you want, not treat you like a misbehaving child(Ok, even though I know that feeling too!). So, go in and get going on this journey!! -

You could say something like "yeah, I've lost some. Not sure how much, I haven't been weighing myself."? -
I wonder if you crushed no-doze and mixed it in? :heh: I was worried about giving up beer, I love beer. But after my one-and-only experience trying to drink it, I miss it a lot less. I felt horrible after about 1/4 of a beer. Negative reinforcement can be a good learning tool.
