I am usually Ok with it, if I eat slowly and be real sure not to overdo it.

I think that's a good idea, to get used to the band before eating out! One thought, I've really found that my favorite foods have changed. So when you do order out, try something new sometimes, you might find something to replace that usual. -
And? No, really. So it's a common expression, so what? Does that change it's meaning? I believe that I alone am responsible for my behavior. That what other people do doesn't justify anything I might choose to do.
-
Words mean things. We chose to type what we do because, I hope at least, it best fits what we mean. You made personal beliefs the issue, people responded. Not all who responded were athiests.
-
Yep. And hubby's happy. I also find it just feels better these days.
-
I was borderline high BP, I'm normal now. I had hip pain, when I got up to walk the first few steps were bad. I also couldn't sleep on my side anymore, my hip aching would wake me up. That is gone now. My knees don't bother me hardly at all, just a twinge now and then.

The Biblical Case for Pro-Choice & Stem Cell Research

If you can find a quote, I'd be interested in seeing it. I couldn't find one in my web search, just lots of reports that he did say that. -
OK for starters, those who "came crawling out of the woodwork" are all people who have been here much longer then you. So they didn't really crawl out of anywhere. Second, not everyone here challenging you are atheists. And third, you were the one who made an issue of your faith and your beliefs. I think you get a charge out of feeling like a poor persecuted Christian.
-
I still think you are confusing reaction to you with reaction to God. It seems to be more about how you are spreading your message then the message itself. As far as I know, I haven't angered anyone here when I've talked about my faith. I personally don't think provoking anger and arguments is a good witness. YMMV.

Yep. It's a little like looking at a family tree. Me and my 3rd cousin 12 times removed have an ansector in common, great-great-great Aunt Tillie maybe. That doesn't mean I came from my 3rd cousin, nor him from me. -
This is SOOOO hard!!

LOL-I couldn't watch TV for the first week. Too many food commercials! I started calling them food-porn. -
In the last week or so, I've won serveral lotteries:scared: , most in the UK, that I didn't know even existed, and never entered. I've been selected, based on my "Impressive profile" to join in many business partnerships, to process paperwork or help retrieve an inheiritence:clap2: . I've been warned that my Pay-Pal account is at risk and I need to follow their link to fix it:eek: . Boy, what a busy week... :faint:

Thanks Mandy - I did report the PayPal ones.

This may be one of the few times I see Dr. Dobson and the ACLU agreeing on a topic! http://www.aclu.org/freespeech/gen/28036leg20070117.html “Dear Senator: On behalf of the ACLU, a non-partisan organization with hundreds of thousands of activists and members, and 53 affiliates nation-wide, we urge you to support Bennett Amendment S.A. 20 to S. 1, the “Legislative Transparency and Accountability Act of 2007” when it comes to the floor for a vote. This amendment would strike Section 220 of the underlying bill. “ http://www.citizenlink.org/CLtopstories/A000003628.cfm “Focus on the Family Action Chairman James C. Dobson, Ph.D., said the provision would make those organizations accountable to the Senate for every trip, every magazine and every radio broadcast. “We’re going to fight it tooth and nail,” he told Frank Pastore, who was guest hosting the nationally syndicated Dennis Prager Show today.”

I haven't struggled with this problem, but PLEASE re-think telling your doctor. His job isn't to find reasons not to band you, but to make sure that it's done in a way where it will best work for you. It may be that getting some help to deal with the bulimia before banding will work best in the long run, at the very least they need to know your history.

Has LBT helped or hindered your success?

I think on-line forums are unique. We can get to know other people pretty well, and care about each other, but there is also an element of anonymity that makes it easier to be more open about things we might be shy talking about in real life. At least that's true for me. <O:p</O:p -

LOL-it's Friday and I'm feeling silly. So I have this mental picture of this REALLLLYY LOOONNGG phone cord following behind your car. I don't think it's saying the same thing at all. He's saying that "A" is farther from "D" then "M" is from "N", from that quote at least. He's not saying that "D" is closer to "M" then it is to "A". I read that to mean that the difference between what his culture defined as "civilized people" and "savages" was bigger then between a domestic animal and a wild one. Comparing civilized people to domestic animals, savage ones to wild animals. -

HUGE help for me. I get info here on issues that aren't things my surgeon would have guidelines on. Emotional issues for example. Just knowing other people are going through the same things. Tricks to make following the my surgeon's guidelines easier. -

Oh I feel for you. I think that #()*$# pre-op diet was the hardest part of all this. I hated it. I got very grumpy . But I kept picturing my liver being too big and having them not do my surgery. May not have been true, but it motivated me. Yes, you will get to eat again. There isn't much I want that I don't eat. And stuff I thought I would want isn't as appealing. Bread for example, after getting it stuck a few times, and PBing it back up, funny how it's just not as tempting. One thing I have noticed, my tastes have changed. I'm learning to be open to trying things I used to not like, now I like them. -
I totally second this!
-
Thank you!!! That's the one I was trying to remember yesterday.
-
If you haven't already - contact your doctor!! This is not normal. You may be dropping weight fast, but it's not healthy. You need to find out what is going on.

I did clear liquids for 2 days, full liquids for 2 weeks, then mushie foods for 2 more weeks. However, my advice is to follow your doctor's orders. He/she may have reasons we don't know about, and we are all different so maybe there is a reason for it? -

Do you have the original source of that? All I could find were site saying he had been quoted as writing that. This is what I did find: I could not have believed how wide was the difference between savage and civilized man: it is greater than between a wild and domesticated animal, inasmuch as in man there is a greater power of improvement. http://www.web-books.com/Classics/Nonfiction/Science/Darwin_Beagle/BeagleC10P1.htm -
We had a local seafood chain here that had ads were people wearing big fake crablegs danced around singing "We've got crab legs". Made me laugh everytime. I know there is one running now I like, but I can't for the life of me remember what it is.
