    Have anyone of filled yourself.

I wish you the best, I still think what you are doing is way too risky. But it's of course your choice. I will point out that the tubing is connected to the port, and there have been cases where it has been punctured.

    Anti-Semitism In France!

I still have problems with this concept. God created us, and He gave us free will. He is all-knowing, so He had to know what we would do, right? Why did He create us with the weaknesses to make the bad choices we do? I'm honestly not trying to take shots at you, I've struggled with this one for a while.
  3. I would call. 3-4 months after a first fill seems like a long time. And since we are all so different, any such rule would concern me. I've had 5 fills and just today am thinking I may need another one soon.

    $$$ ???

Saline is what they put in the band. Flouro means they do it using an x-ray to see how easily barium goes through the band.

    $$$ ???

I'm self-pay, my fills are included for the first year. After that, it's $150 a fill, and that includes any tweaking for 10 days following the fill.

I Know this is a BIG NO! But...????

If God wanted us to drink black coffee, She wouldn't have invented Coffee mate French Vanilla...Sugar free no less... :faint:

I Know this is a BIG NO! But...????

I wasn't a big pop fan to begin with, so I haven't had any trouble avoiding it. I did try a beer a week or so ago, and that was a bad idea. While drinking it, I started to feel bloated, and very uncomfortable.
  8. I chose the band for many of the same reasons other's have posted. I didn't like the idea of my digestive system being re-routed. I didn't like the higher mortality rate and complications. I didn't like the idea of malabortion. I liked the idea of having something that was reversable if ever I needed it to be. That could be adjusted as I needed, as long as I needed it to be. In short, my goal was to become healthier, and the band seemed to give me the best chance for that.

    Gallbladder FRUSTRATIONS

I had mine out almost 5 years ago. It wasn't bad, they did it laproscopic. I was in the hospital about 15 hours total, would have been less by I was on IV antibotics because my GB was really bad. I was off work 2 weeks, felt pretty decent after 1.5. I have heard that some surgeons will combine the surgeries.

    Anti-Semitism In France!

I have a question about this. If God created us perfect, why did we choose sin? And why did God give us free will when He knew what it would lead to?

    Funniest commercial

OMG - I love the herding cats one. Forgot about that.

    2 weeks

Physically, I felt fine. A little tender around the port, otherwise good. But I was just transitioning from full liquids to mushy foods, and started with really soft mush stuff. And it's really important to follow that post-op diet so you heal up good. Could you say something like "I'm just not feeling hungry tonight" or "I've had a little medical issue and I'm on a strict diet for a time"?

    The Mouse that Roared

Exactly. I hear critisicm of the dems not having a plan. But so far, no one has laid what winning will look like, at least that I've seen. What milestones have to be passed in order to decide it's time to bring our troops home? The middle east has been in conflict for a very long time. I don't see how we can change that by being in Iraq. In fact, I believe that most terrorists don't hate us for our freedoms and want us dead because of our lifestyle. I've talked to some very non-radical muslims who feel sorry for us. They think we are too decadent and shallow. I do think they want us out of the middle east though. And some are willing to kill us for what they see as interference.

    DH not 100% with me.

I've used it before, and I wish I could remember where I got it

    DH not 100% with me.

I hope the ex-rays come back OK! I thought about that for a while, about being a failure because I was "resorting" to WLS. But then I decided not to worry about it. I made myself think of it as a medical treatment for a medical problem, not a moral issue. That helped a lot.

    DH not 100% with me.

I was pretty much where your husband is now when my husband decided he wanted to get banded. I had MAJOR doubts. About WLS in general. About his ability to follow the guidelines afterwards. I realize now I was scared. Scared that he would die on the table. Scared that it wouldn't work and his last hope would be gone. Scared it wouldn't work, and we'd have spent all that money for nothing(we were both self-pay). As you can see, I came around to the point where I had surgery myself. So, for your hubby, find out what his objections are deep down. Tell him that some people (like his sainted mom) can do it. But that you can't. Tell him it's not a issue of moral, of course he wants you to be healthy, right? Point out that something like 2% of those who loose weight keep it off long term. The band is a tool, yes. We have to do our part. But it's like someone handing you a hammer(or better yet a nail gun) to pound in nails when you've been trying to use a cube of Jello. Having the right tool makes doing the job possible. Not easy, but doable. Guys respond to examples with tools, right?

    Sleep Apnea Test??

I'll agree about how much better I feel with my C-pap. It's actually a love-hate thing. I hate having to wear it, but I feel so much better it's amazing.

    sex

I was told whenever I felt like it, as long as I was careful. They did ask that we wait at least until we left the surgical center...:heh: I went about a week and a half.
  19. lisah25

    Tired all the time!!!

You got some good answers. Have you been checked for sleep apnea?

    Everything comes back up

I HATE any 'fake' eggs. They taste odd to me. What I do is scramble them, putting in a little milk before cooking. That seems too keep them moist(slimy, I'm not sure. :heh: ). Also, I make sure the heat isn't too high and that I don't overcook. I'm usually fine then. I'm not much of a breakfast person either. I have a non-fat latte and a protien/ceral bar most days.
  21. I think you hit on it yourself. This was going on before we went into Iraq. I see no signs our being there changed anything. This was going on long before Saddam was put into power, heck before his grandparents were born. I don't see how staying longer, putting more troops in or really anything we can do there is going to change things that are so deeply entrenched.

    Everything comes back up

I find that if they aren't cooked carefully, they can get a bit rubbery and be hard to chew up enough. Yeah, I thought it was odd also, I expected them to be just fine.
  23. lisah25

    cluster headaches

I haven't noticed a difference in my headaches since surgery, but I did notice a huge decrease in any type of headache since I've been using a C-pap for apnea. I got cluster headaches, a migraine a couple times a year, occular migraines maybe once a month or so, and other 'regular' headaches maybe once a week before that.
  24. lisah25

    Everything comes back up

Ham is hard for me, as are eggs. So it might be food choices? Also, make sure you are taking small bites and chewing really well. I'd call your doctor. You might also think about going back on liquids for a day or two, you may have irritated your pouch and esophogus.

    Anti-Semitism In France!

That's not true. You are the one who brought up someone else's personal beliefs by asking about their title of "token athiest". Do I think there was something wrong with that, no. But you can't claim that you did nothing more then post about Anti-Semitism in France. Edited because I'm not awake enough to post yet apparently!!
