  1. I've been having a hard time too. I wish I had some answers, but I'm having problems too.
  2. LOL - men can be protective of their daughters, that's for sure.
  3. How do you not just smack them upside the head!?! Ok, not really but it's bad enough they feel that way, but to make sure you know, geez.
  4. OK, you do win the "bad in-laws" prize! Once mine got over the fact I wasn't the type of woman they expected their son to marry, they have been fine. My favorite was my future FIL telling his son that he thought I was a gold-digger. Hum, I lived in a condo I owned. I had a decent job, making about twice what his son did. I must be the worst gold-digger ever born... :faint:

    Anti-Semitism In France!

Of course you do. What you don't have is a right to not have your words challenged, or a right to not have people not like what you say and tell you so and why.

    Anti-Semitism In France!

What you said was "So if you can mock fundamentalists and compare them to Taliban, is it OK if I were to mock athiests and compare them to Hitler? Is that acceptable to you??" Sue made a connection between fanatical fundamentalists and the Taliban. You made no comparable connection between athiests and Hitler. But yes, you didn't actually compare the two. So I apologize for saying you did.

I understand that all. My point is I don't see why Ron would compare athiests to him. Well, other then to provoke more reaction?

    Anti-Semitism In France!

Wonderful post! I really like your last line. It's funny, yesterday I was listening to my iPod while reading here, and "Amazing Grace" came on. I like the lines about how Grace is what saves us.

    Anti-Semitism In France!

I totally agree. I think fanatics are a small percentage of any group. They to tend to be the loudest and scaryiest as well, which is why they get attention.

OK, I think I misunderstood. I don't see you as fanatical at all either.

    Anti-Semitism In France!

Hum. So you think other people feel a certain way, but won't speak up? Why wouldn't they? And yes, Sue used the qualifier "fanatical".

Is someone here keeping you from posting? Have you been censored? As I see it, we are all free to say what we want. Including how we feel about what other people say.

    Anti-Semitism In France!

Let me clarify a bit. I don't exactly like what Sue is saying. But I understand why she is saying it and I think Ron provoked it.

    Anti-Semitism In France!

Well, I'm not sure what the commonality would be, since Hitler claimed to be a Christian.

    Anti-Semitism In France!

If you have said it over and over, and no one is hearing it, maybe the problem is in how you are communicating, not in the audience? After all, there are both Christians and non-Christians not "hearing it".

    Nursing Home Abuse

My FIL is in a nursing home, he has Alzheimers. And we make sure someone, us or MIL, is there a LOT. At odd times. We keep a really close eye on him and how he's doing. MIL is there at mealtime a lot. And I feel like this is a pretty good facility overall, but so many aren't, and for patients that no one is checking on, I really wonder. It's a cause I'm behind.
  17. Mine never had, and I've had 5 now with no numbing. The flu shot I got this fall hurt more.
  18. Hum, that is a bit drastic.:heh: And at 43, just the idea of having a baby makes me feel tired.
  19. We may have stumbled on a great appetite supressent here!

    I love that TOM!
  21. How cool!! I did mine shortly after returning from a trip to Hawaii. Reminded me of it, even though we didn't see any turtles up close.

    Band or no band???

Tough time you've had! I would go for a month or so with no fill, and let things heal. My DH had to do that, he was too tight for 2 weeks on vacation(didn't occur to us to contact our dr for a referral) and they unfilled him, and then started filling again after a month. That gives all the irritated parts time to heal. Then start getting small fills, you may be very sensitive to them.
  23. Hey MCOBandita - I like your ticker!
  24. It really does vary by doctor, and even patient to patient in a given practice. Depends on things like your medical history and such. For example, DH and I had the same surgeon. I was required to do a sleep test, he wasn't. It was based on BMI and reports from each other, IE I snore and he'd noticed I stopped breathing, I hadn't noticed that from him.
