Sounds like the band is too tight. Need to call the doc ASAP.

BG is right...It's Bandster Hell. Keep your focus on the goal. The band is just a tool. We still have to do the work. It's so difficult at times. You might want to try water loading...drinking 4 ounces of water 35-40 minutes before you eat. It fills your pouch so you don't eat as much. My NP made that suggestion for me. It works. It was 6 weeks after my surgery before I had my first fill, and I still don't fill much restriction. My second fill is 6/10. I am hopeful that this one will do wonders. Keep the exercise up...walk, walk, walk... Best of luck!

Wow! That is just awesome! You are an inspiration! -
For some reason, I wasn't afraid and I knew this was what I needed...until the day of surgery. Then I was anxious, scared, questioned my decision. I was banded on 3/30/09. It has been a great journey so far. I believe it is worth the change. Hang in there. :cursing:

You are probably resting in your room by now. Happy Birthday! It's a wonderful experience. Keep your eye on the prize. God Bless you and your future.

I was banded on 3/30/09 with my first fill on 5/13/09. I haven't felt much of a restriction. After the fill, I stayed on liquids for 24 hrs, then soft foods for 24 hrs, then back to a regular diet. No problems so far. I am scheduled for my second fill on 6/10. Can't wait! Good luck! I agree with Band Groupie... Excellent advice from Jewels41.

I was out of work for one week. Probably should have taken a couple more days. I felt fine after 2 weeks. Try to walk as much as possible every hour. It really does help. I was so tired for some reason. It seemed to zap my energy. Never fear though, after a couple of weeks it's great! Good luck!

I must be dreaming... I mean 251/252.... ha!

I know what you mean. I've been floating between 151 and 152 for 2 weeks. It's driving me crazy. I can't wait to get into the 140's. It's just a process. Kicking up your walking and water will do wonders. I am going to the gym after work today. We can do this!

Awesome job! :cursing:

I have never heard the analogy of lapsing, relapsing and collapsing. That is great. How insightful! Thank you so much for sharing that. I appreciate all your comments. Thank you for your support, JazzyMom17, ALuv82 and Cali! It means so much. You are right. I could have ate double what I ate just a few weeks ago. :cursing:

It's been one of those days. I had a dear friend that had a nervous breakdown last night (husband left after 34 yrs marriage). It was so sad. Five hours in the hospital then to a facility for her to rest. Three hours of sleep then to work. I just ate 1/2 a cheesburger and 8 french fries. I am paying for it too! I never really thought I was an emotional eating, but I proved to myself I am. I am so disappointed that I did this! When am I going to learn! I also have a painful heel spur and can't walk right now. Just needed to whine a little... :cursing:

That is so totally exciting. Congratulations! What an inspiration you are to all of us! -
I had my first fill last Wednesday. No problems. It was rather easy actually. BUT...I am not telling any difference. How do you know when you have found the "sweet spot"? Should I be feeling any difference? I am thinking I'll call the doctor's office to see if they can tighten it some more... It's so frustrating. I was having lots of pain in my right heel, and wasn't able to walk like I wanted too. Went to the doc on Friday, and had a bone spur. It just seems like there are always obsticules in the way... Enough of ranting... Thanks for listening!

I am 6 weeks post-op, and it isn't a quick fix. It takes time for your head to catch up with your body. It's worth it. You will do great! I have found that conquering the head hunger and the thoughts are the most difficult. Watch for mild depression also. My doctor & NP said that it was common with this surgery. Best of wishes to you!

I had my FIRST FILL today, much to do about nothing
babertm commented on Gregnlr's blog entry in Blog 56078
I had my first fill on Wednesday, May 13th. You are so correct. I was so anxious, and it really was easy. I only have to do liquids for 24 hours, then soft foods for the next 24 hours, then back to the regular diet. Thanks for sharing! Happy Birthday! Tracye -
You will do great! There will be lots of questions and wondering if you are doing the right thing right up to surgery day. At least for me it was. I was banded on 3/30/09 and just had my first fill a couple of hours ago. I still believe it was the right decision for me and for my family. God Bless!

Bandsters...please help! I'm post op and hungry
babertm commented on barevalo2305's blog entry in Blog 64261
It is really hard at times. I was banded on 3/30/09. For about 3 weeks, I wasn't hungry. THEN...it hit. I was so hungry. Some days I did good, some days not so good. It does take time. Keep your focus, and move more. I get my first fill this Wednesday. I am praying that this will help with the hunger. Hang in there! It's worth it. -
I was extremely tired for about a week and a half. Some people bounce back within 4 days. For some reason, it took a little longer. I really didn't experience much pain from the incisions or the gas pain. I was very fortunate. I am a stomach sleeper, so it was difficult for me to sleep on my back. Do exactly what the doctor tells you to do. Take the pain meds whether you think you need them or not. I was trying not too, and was told to take them. They help you rest more comfortably. I had more pain from having my gallbladder removed a few years back than from this surgery. You will do well. Congrats!!

Thank you Christy! I appreciate the encouragement. I am till excited that in probably 1 year I will have a different body.

Today is my month (a little past) checkup. I am in "Bandster Hell." My first fill is next Wednesday, the 13th. I have lost about 20 lbs., but its a struggle now because I am hungry. AND I can eat just about anything. I have read some of your blogs about fills, and I am concerned that the first fill won't curb the appetite. I don't dread the fill, but I am concerned that I won't fill a difference with the first fill. Any thoughts??

It's an exciting journey. I can't wait until I can shop for "normal" size clothes, and too look "hot" in them also. Look out hubby!!
