Great to know. I sure can use the deduction! I, too, will have to e-mail Dr Aceves's office for a copy of my payment receipt! Thanks all for the info. -

Hey Sleeve Sister! 65 lbs! WOW! That's great! I agree with AJW. Your co-workers must lead an awfully boring life. I haven't told my coworkers about my surgery, but I'm getting many positive comments. It's been great. When they ask what I'm doing, I just say high protein, low carbs and small portions. No lie there! Keep up the good work! I'm proud of you. -

Boy, you guys are great. I started this thread, and I'm STILL sitting on the couch. I'm hopeless. I definitely need an excersise buddy for motivation. Someone to pry my sorry butt off the couch. Anyone out there live in north central phoenix??? Oy vey! -
Huge disapointment
learned2bskinny replied to JudyJudyJudy's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Hoping and praying for lower numbers, Judy. Stay calm and think happy thoughts when the cuff goes on! -
I drink diet coke every day, just sips mind you, but all in all about 3-4 ozs a day with nothing more than a burp. My weight continues to drop, so I dont believe it stretches the stomach.

Working Overnights.......
learned2bskinny replied to Chancie's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Chancie, I work nights 6pm to 6am four nights a week. It makes eating very difficult because on the days you switch from days to nights you tend to eat 5 meals in 24 hours. Breakfast, lunch and dinner during the day, and then usually lunch and dinner during the night. I try to eat lightly during the day, Protein drink or salad at lunch time, fish fillet at dinner time, so I can eat more normally while I'm working. I don't know if this helps, but it's what I do. Good luck tonight. -
Pretty high in carbs. But, I admit I have some now and then. Not till you're on a regular diet though.

thanks for all the suggestions. I'm going to try them and see what works best for me. Maybe just starting by walking outside (it's beautiful here in phoenix right now) and see how that goes. -

IMO, We don't have any info on long term effects, the H1N1 flu is just that, a flu. Hundreds of people die every year from the flu. If you don't have an underlying immunity problem, then don't take a chance. I am a nurse, and where I work they are trying to mandate the vaccine. Not gonna happen! We know too much. Without long term studies, I'm not getting anything put into my body! Just my opinion.

Drinking cokes anyone?
learned2bskinny replied to charitymarroquin's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
LOL! There's no way her stomach exploded! come on! really? I drink diet coke every day, sometimes several times. I can only sip it, not gulp, but I manage to finish one or two. Except for belching, I have no problems. Even Dr Campos told me it's just the bubbles, the burping, thats the problem. If you really want one, go ahead, just SLOWLY! The same rule that applies to all eating. -

Rosey, Happy 3 month anniversary sleeve sister! Wow! Great weight loss! 59lbs! Thats awesome! I'm at 44lbs down. Isn't the sleeve great! I had the same issue with BM's. There was a thread about this, and someone suggested magnesium supplements. As a matter of fact, I think it was Vegas. (sorry Vegas, if it wasn't you). I researched magnesium, and not only do they recommend it for constipation, they highly recommend it to people with IBS (irritable bowel syndrome) for regulating BM's. It also helps to lower blood pressure, which is a real bonus for me. I started taking it last week, and along with 1/2 dose of Miralax every other day, I now have regular BM's daily with no pain, and no straining. I hope this helps you. I, too, was only having one difficult BM a week. As they say, been thre, done that, no thanks! It took about 3 days for the magnesium and Miralax to work for me. Try it, its easy and it works. Keep up the good work. -
