NSV: I don't believe it myself!

Daisy, I LOVE it! Note to all: I'm gonna change my name!

    Total frustration

Judy, I just read, and re-read your posts. I know you're not eating all that at once, but it sounds like you might be grazing. Eating what you can tolerate but eating too often. Try to stick to three meals, and two Snacks daily, low to no carbs until the stall passes, then keep the carbs less than 30mg daily. Stalls are normal and very frustrating. But they will pass. You need to follow the rules...even though you miss the flavors you once loved. Remember VSG is just a tool, not used correctly and you can gain weight. Keep your chin up, remember why you did this in the first place, and keep posting here for motivation. You can do it!

NSV: I don't believe it myself!

You guys are hysterical...I can't decide what to call myself now, but I love your suggestions. Thanks.
  4. Hi everyone! Although I have read posts regarding VSG and hair loss, until now I haven't experienced this at all. In the last 3 weeks though, my hair is falling out BIG time! Luckily I have thick hair so it's not so noticable. But if it keeps up at this rate, I'll be looking for a wig. What am I missing in my diet? I take multi vitamins, B-complex, B-12, and magnesium supplements. I try to eat a fairly healthy diet, as we all do. Any suggestions?:001_cool:

NSV: I don't believe it myself!

Thanks for all the kind words everyone. I NEVER thought I would wear a 4 either! When I was a kid, I went from a girls 16 to a junior 11. This is the most exciting thing that has ever happened to me next to the birth of my kids! And Vegas, I love your suggestion for my new name! Thanks again!!

NSV: I don't believe it myself!

Just posted a brand spanking new picture. I still can't believe it! Maybe it's time to change my user name!!!!!
  9. Way to go Susan! Keep up the good work.

    Self Pay

I agree with the others. I was sleeved by Dr Aceves in July, 2009. It was a great experience. I am also an RN (21 years) and have never seen such care and cleanliness here in the states. I went by myself and although I was hesitant to do so, the staff made me feel comfortable and took care of all of my needs in a very timely manner. I wouldn't hesitate to go back for the cosmetic surgery that is sure to be needed when I reach goal!! My package price was $8500. Again, it included everything.

    Hair Loss post-op

It SHOULD include hair! We work so hard to look so good, and what do our bodies do in return.....shed! This seems to be a lose-lose situation. Oh well, I guess I'ld rather be thin and bald than fat and furry!

    Exercise help here, please!

Me too Vegas! They are the Reeboks. I wonder if they really work? I think I am finally going to go to the YMCA and check out what they offer and how much. I'm soooooo close to goal, but I'm still such a couch potato!

    cooking for one?

Tracy, I'm in the same boat. I hate to cook, much less cook just for me. I end up eating ready made foods which always have too much sodium in them. I still have hypertension, even though I'm 15 lbs from my goal, so sodium isnt the best for me. Fast food, even though I can only eat a tiny bit, is also lousy nutrition wise, so if there was only someone who would cook for me.....

    Anyone heard from Daisy?

Nope, she's not coming here until February, unless she changed her plans. Hope all is well with her. Daisy...Where for art thou??

    Hair Loss post-op

Thanks all for the advise. I will try fish oil first since I have some. I am supposed to be taking them anyway for my cholesterol. (they DO help lower your cholesterol-that much I know for sure!). Hopefully that will work before I have to go buy a wig!

    Parents

I have not told my parents. I am 4 months post op, they know of my wt loss, but I just told them I am changing my lifestyle, especially my diet. They wouldnt understand. My mother also yo-yo diets, and has my whole life. My dad bugs her constantly about her weight. I just don't want to hear it from them. It's my decision, and I will never regret it!

    Going Public

4 months post-op now. Still loving my sleeve. The weight is steadily coming off and people around me are amazed. I decided this month to start telling some of my friends and co-workers about the surgery. So far, most of the reactions are supportive. Of course, what's being said behind my back I'll never know! Nor do I care! This decision to go public was made because I feel great about myself, and honestly, I'm tired of keeping it to myself. It's too good not to share! One of my co-workers even pulled me aside crying cause she is so down on herself about her weight and has been researching the band. I referred her to our wonderful website and introduced her to the sleeve. Now I can be an advocate. And that I love!

    Oh, I forgot. WOW!!!

OK to the use to bes or are heavey weights.

Think of it this way: You have lost a 10 year old!! Can you imagine carrying a ten year old child around 24/7?

    Do you crave sweets?

At first, after surgery I couldn't even think about sweets, and believe me, I am a sweet lover! But as time passes, it is harder to avoid them. Now I am 4 1/2 months post op and I treat myself every now and then to something sweet. I can tolerate a small amount. BUT, and it's a big one, last week I ate a Large chocolate cookie, one of those that you pay like $2.00 for, it was great, until a few minutes after. Then wham! nausea, reflux and boy did I wish I hadn't eaten it. So, from personal experience, yes you can have some sweets after the sleeve, but very minimal, or be prepared to suffer!
