I am just wondering if anyone else experienced numbness anywhere in their body in the days following their surgery. I just had my surgery this past Wednesday and I've had pretty persistant numbness in my tailbone region, which makes sitting down uncomfortable. It didn't start until after the surgery. I am unsure if it's related.

When did you go home after surgery?
Brie replied to JWL08's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had surgery at around 10am and was discharged around 6pm. They weren't sure they were going to let me go home the same day because I was having a lot of pain but I ended up pulling it together, walking around, going to the bathroom by myself, all the things they wanted to make sure I could do before they let me leave. I didn't have any complications but I completely understand why a lot of patients need that overnight stay. I almost did. -
I was banded just one day after you and I'm definitely feeling hunger a lot too! Last night was torture, especially when my boyfriend (who has a superfast metabolism) was sitting beside me eating chips and a milkshake. I am trying to take in as much protein as possible to keep it at bay.

Hello! I'm Brie and I'm 27. I just had my surgery this past Wednesday, 3/11. I think I've done well so far. The day after my surgery, I was miserable, sore, gassy and frustrated but I tried to keep myself as comfortable as possible and distract myself with anything I could. I stopped taking the prescribed liquid oxycodone after Friday morning and have been taking liquid tylenol occasionally. I have been walking regularly and drove on Saturday and walked around two large stores and definitely got a little more wiped out than I normally would have but didn't feel bad. I didn't have to drive far but no problems with that either. I haven't had any nausea or throwing up since the day of the surgery (when I seemed to throw up gas, as nothing actually came up) My incisions are still sore but I can move pretty much any way I want as long as I do it with a little more care than I normally would. And I'm starting to get itchy so I guess that's a good sign of healing. I slept on my stomach for the first time last night and didn't have any problems. I just hate sleeping on my back. (I slept in a recliner the first three nights and that was fabulous.) I've been taking in only plain Water, chicken broth, lemon-lime gatorade, special k Protein water and water flavored with propel powder but I am thinking about trying a creamy Soup tomorrow even though I'm not supposed to start full liquids until Wednesday. I'm just SO HUNGRY and dying to take in something other than chicken broth. Well this turned into a long introduction and I guess I used it as more of a journal entry but anyway, I've been reading this forum since before my surgery and it has helped tremendously to read other experiences. I also was scared before the surgery because I felt like I was condemning myself to a life free of anything yummy but you guys have made me realize that is definitely not the case.
