SpideyMom replied to CyndiMomto3's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Tomorrow I start on pureed foods, so last night I did my big shopping spree. Below is a list of what I got. If it's grouped together, that's how I plan to eat it! Fat Free Refried Beans Low fat 4-cheese Mexican blend shreds FF sour cream and LF sour cream (figured I'd blend them together since I can't stand FF sour cream.) Hummus Baba Ganoush LF ricotta cheese LF spaghetti sauce LF 4-cheese Italian blend shreds Plain Greek yogurt LF cottage cheese Egg Beaters and an 8-pack of GladWare 1/2-cup storage containers (not to eat, of course! lol) I'm going to do the ricotta bake in individual ramekins, and for a Memorial day picnic that we're going to this weekend, I'm going to make a Mexican "dip" of the first three ingredients: refried beans, melted cheese, topped with sour cream. That way, I can eat my "dip" and not look suspicious that I'm not eating at all. I may even do something with pureed fruit and the Greek yogurt. Just need to be a little creative! :cursing: -
I'm starting to feel good also! I just realized today that I don't feel the band anymore when I swallow. That's a wonderful thing!! :cursing: Great to see your smiling face, Cyndi!:cursing:
-
Oooh, this sounds really yummy! :cursing:
-
CrazyLady, you made me laugh too about the birth announcements!!! :cursing: I'm still haven't "given birth" so to speak. I broke out the Milk of Magnesia last night, and still nothing. I'm going to try more MoM tonight.
-
Cool! I'm in agreement and back to the original siggie! :cursing:
-
I keep reading about people's ports being on the right or left side, but mine is smack dab in the middle, between my ribs. Does anyone else have theirs in the middle?

GR, I know where you're coming from. I was thin when I got married the first time, and my wasband (as I like to call him) used to torment me about not gaining weight. Well, he was very abusive, and I ate for comfort. Then it just got worse from there. Within three years of marriage, I had put on 100 pounds. I became seriously, seriously depressed. I somehow got out of the marriage alive, but the weight has never come off completely. That was 15 years ago! Now I have so many health problems and take so many prescriptions, I have to keep a list in my wallet to keep track of everything. I believe I've had every emotion in the book about having this WLS, and I keep coming back to the fact that I have to do this to get healthy. I had 8 doctors tell me so. That many can't be wrong! Good luck to all of us! I'm glad to have found such a great group of people to turn to!
-
GR, ouch!!!! I've always heard that itching is a good sign because it means that you're healing. But, again, ouch!
-
Congratulations on becoming a Banded Bandito! Glad to hear that your pain is lessening day by day. Hope you're able to get some protein and hydration now. Keep up the good work!
-
Dani and Kellster, congratulations!! Awesome work!
-
Kellster, you are so right! I hadn't thought of that!!! I love that it means little! I vote to keep it the way it was spelled. John, you out there??? Let us know what you think!

John, glad to hear that you got some sleep finally! I'm having the same GI issues that a lot of you are. I think I might try the Milk of Magnesia tonight. Miralax isn't working for me. I'm about to leave work for the day -- my first day back was no fun. I couldn't concentrate at all, and about an hour ago the pain started. Time to go home, take some liquid meds and lie down. Hope everyone else had a good first day back!
-
Welcome, Linda! Glad to have you as a Bandido!
-
Aaaaack ! You are reading my mind!!!!
-
That's funny, I've been thinking the same thing... and craving Fritos!!!
-
You are needed on the Bandidos not Banditos thread, please. Thank ya, kindly.
-
True, true! So, let's give a SHOUT OUT TO JOHN!!!! and ask him what he would like to do. I don't mind changing it back. It's easy to do!
-
No problem! I had to have something to do now that I'm back at work! LOL Ugh... I really want to be back at home lying down on the couch!!!! My tummy hurts!

ALL. OF. THE. ABOVE. AND. EVERYTHING. ELSE. NOT. MENTIONED! -
You're right, it would be bandida for female, but for a group of mixed people, it would still be bandidos. However, you are also right that it should be "de Mayo" -- how quickly I forget my basic Spanish. LOL So, I am again changing my siggy, so if anyone wants to copy and paste into their siggy, feel free.
-
LOL -- It is! I'll change it in the siggy, and if you want to copy and paste the new one, feel free!!
-
Yikes, no! That's not what I meant! :grouphug: I meant, everyone keep their chin up! LOL ooops!
-
Welcome to the Mayo Banditos! If you check the list, I'm sure you'll find others with your band-date! Good luck to you! :grouphug:

Well, I haven't had much of anything -- a couple of hard marbles once or twice -- and it's been 8 days. I've been taking Miralax for three days now and still nothing. I saw the surgeon today, and he said not to worry, just drink more Water, and if in a couple days, still nothing, then take a regular laxative. HTH!! :grouphug:
