1 week post op follow up visit-SO HAPPY!

Tomorrow I start on pureed foods, so last night I did my big shopping spree. Below is a list of what I got. If it's grouped together, that's how I plan to eat it! Fat Free Refried Beans Low fat 4-cheese Mexican blend shreds FF sour cream and LF sour cream (figured I'd blend them together since I can't stand FF sour cream.) Hummus Baba Ganoush LF ricotta cheese LF spaghetti sauce LF 4-cheese Italian blend shreds Plain Greek yogurt LF cottage cheese Egg Beaters and an 8-pack of GladWare 1/2-cup storage containers (not to eat, of course! lol) I'm going to do the ricotta bake in individual ramekins, and for a Memorial day picnic that we're going to this weekend, I'm going to make a Mexican "dip" of the first three ingredients: refried beans, melted cheese, topped with sour cream. That way, I can eat my "dip" and not look suspicious that I'm not eating at all. I may even do something with pureed fruit and the Greek yogurt. Just need to be a little creative! :cursing:

    Where is your port??

I keep reading about people's ports being on the right or left side, but mine is smack dab in the middle, between my ribs. Does anyone else have theirs in the middle?

    Emotions about surgery

GR, I know where you're coming from. I was thin when I got married the first time, and my wasband (as I like to call him) used to torment me about not gaining weight. Well, he was very abusive, and I ate for comfort. Then it just got worse from there. Within three years of marriage, I had put on 100 pounds. I became seriously, seriously depressed. I somehow got out of the marriage alive, but the weight has never come off completely. That was 15 years ago! Now I have so many health problems and take so many prescriptions, I have to keep a list in my wallet to keep track of everything. I believe I've had every emotion in the book about having this WLS, and I keep coming back to the fact that I have to do this to get healthy. I had 8 doctors tell me so. That many can't be wrong! Good luck to all of us! I'm glad to have found such a great group of people to turn to!

    May 11th Surgery Stories

John, glad to hear that you got some sleep finally! I'm having the same GI issues that a lot of you are. I think I might try the Milk of Magnesia tonight. Miralax isn't working for me. I'm about to leave work for the day -- my first day back was no fun. I couldn't concentrate at all, and about an hour ago the pain started. Time to go home, take some liquid meds and lie down. Hope everyone else had a good first day back!

    Bandidos not Banditos

You're right, it would be bandida for female, but for a group of mixed people, it would still be bandidos. However, you are also right that it should be "de Mayo" -- how quickly I forget my basic Spanish. LOL So, I am again changing my siggy, so if anyone wants to copy and paste into their siggy, feel free.
  22. SpideyMom

    Bandidos not Banditos

LOL -- It is! I'll change it in the siggy, and if you want to copy and paste the new one, feel free!!

Not for the squeamish or shy...

Well, I haven't had much of anything -- a couple of hard marbles once or twice -- and it's been 8 days. I've been taking Miralax for three days now and still nothing. I saw the surgeon today, and he said not to worry, just drink more Water, and if in a couple days, still nothing, then take a regular laxative. HTH!! :grouphug:
