Frustrated with the small amounts of food? I am!
SpideyMom posted a topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Ugh! Sometimes I get so fed up with the tiny amounts I can eat. I just had lunch and really wanted more to eat, but I was so full, I couldn't. It made me sorta angry. I wanted more variety! Anyone else feel this way? I didn't eat more, but I really wanted some Jello or applesauce or fruit or something else. Yet I knew that although that might be small and healthy, I was full already. I used to think that being able to eat just a tiny amount would be way cool, but now I'm sorta bummed. I really don't get past the Protein and a tiny bit of veg/fruit most times. Just another mind hurdle to get over, I guess... *sigh* -

2nd/Third - Follow Up Fill Experiences
SpideyMom replied to John337's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Oh! That makes total sense! Thanks, John, and good luck! :bored: I'm only able to get about 3 hours of good satiety, then I have to drink lots of water and distract myself with whatever I can. I'd love to have 5 hours. Cheers! -
2nd/Third - Follow Up Fill Experiences
SpideyMom replied to John337's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
That's super fab, John! Tell me, since you already had good restriction with your second fill, why do they do a third fill? My doc said if I had good restriction and continued weight loss, he wouldn't do a fill again until my hunger gets to be a problem and my weight loss slows down. I guess I don't know what you mean about keeping up with the shrinking stomach. (And we all know how different doctors are! :bored:) Cheers! -
Lili! So glad to see you on here again and hear about your travels. Sounds like a heavenly time! I envy you and Lisa! Congrats on maintaining your weight on such a fun vacation. Good luck on your next fill. The weight will be falling off you in no time. Cheers!

Thanks, vonhelzing, for understanding what I mean! Today at lunch, I was only able to eat 1/4 cup of lentil soup. Sorta takes the joy out of eating sometimes! Yes, I'm thrilled that I have restriction and I'm eating less, and I'm ecstatic that I am losing weight!!!! Just sometimes want a little bit more than 1/4 cup of protein. Just being honest. -
OMG, last night I had a horrible time with a hamburger. I had no problems with hamburger before my first fill, but last night was murder. The first bite got stuck and it was very painful. After about 5-10 minutes of agonizing, knife-stabbing pain, I took a few Papaya Enzyme tablets, which helped a little. Waited about another 5-10 min. and felt good enough to take a second bite (I was starving!). Same thing happened, same routine.... This time, though, the enzyme tabs weren't helping so much, and I was burping a lot. My body wanted that meat out of there! I thought for sure I was going to PB, but much to my surprise, instead I slimed.... which is just the same as PBing but all that comes up is slimy spit -- lots of it. :wink2: That continued to happen until finally the meat worked its way down (another 10-15 minutes), during which time, I believe I slimed about 3 times. At that point, I gave my hamburger to my dh. So there you have it, Mayo Banditos, a first sliming experience, in case you were wondering.

No problems here! I've been eating peanuts and almonds since 4 weeks out. Just chew, chew, chew, like you would with anything else. Enjoy! :smile2:

Hmmm.... let's see... 40+ years of food issues... get over them in the two and a half months before surgery.... hmm.... Nope! don't think so! -
Anyone else having a hard time throwing away good food when you're too full to eat anymore, but there's just a few bites left? I'm so tempted by my years of being part of the "clean plate club" that it is hard to throw away the last three bites of yummy yogurt or Soup or strawberries, etc. I need some help! Any good suggestions for breaking my habit of cleaning the plate? And, I'm really not into the idea of saving 3 bites of everything in the refrigerator. I just don't have the room! Nor do I have the room in my new tummy!

First Fill Experiences For The Mayo BANDitos
SpideyMom replied to John337's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Kellster, you're doing fabulous! It's great to see you on here again! It's easy to get down and depressed during Bandster Hell. Come on here and we'll cheer you on! We're all going through the same things. Once you get a bit more restriction, things will start moving again. And, sometimes you just have to PUSH yourself, no matter how much you hate it. I had to do that yesterday with exercise. I hadn't walked in days, and yesterday was a beautiful sunny day (rare here on the East coast lately), but I had no desire to walk and I was exhausted. But I pushed myself to get out there because I figured I'd never get down to the size I wanted without doing some sort of exercise now. It sucked. I won't lie. ha! But, the whole time, I kept visualizing what size I wanted to be. That helped a little bit. Hang in there, Kellster, you can do this! -

Carrie, way to go!! Bmaz, I sent you a private message regarding the tickers. -
Thanks for the link, singin! I take a lot of Vitamins for my fibromyalgia, so I will definitely check that out! Less of me, my surgeon said I could start taking vitamins right away, but then again, each doc is different!

Congratulations, everyone!!! Bmaz, if you are using TickerFactory, you need to plug in your PIN then click on Update Weight (the blue button right under the PIN box). That should help you change your weight. HTH! And don't worry, you're just in Bandster Hell. I also could eat any amount of anything. Now I'm losing again. Work in Progess, the WLS can really mess with TOM. It did for me and many others. It has to do with the release of hormones stored in our fat, I'm told. -

Ok, have to ask... why does your tattoo freak him out? What is it? -
Oh, Jennifer, thanks for reminding me! He did say to make sure you're getting your vitamins, also. We all started discussing the different types of chewables on the market, and someone said that Centrum makes orange chewables that are supposed to be better than the Flintstone chewables. I also saw that there are liquid vitamins available and even powdered vitamins that you can mix in your drink. HTH!

Sarah, you must post before & after pix of your hair!! It's enlivening to do something drastic and fun like that. I've gone through a few phases in my life where I've chopped off my hair and loved it. I'm in that phase right now (well, have been for the past 3 years). heehee Have fun! -
