Hi Everyone I had these exact problems I would not buy new cloths because I was actually scared. What did it mean if I fit in a smaller size? What did it mean if I didn't. A friend suggested that i go to the store and pick up the size I wear a size smaller and size larger. She said then start with the largest size and work your way down. I did this and it did work. This weekend I had to go buy jeans because my current ones were literally falling off of me, I had to talk myself through picking up a smaller size and brining it into the dressing room. I kind of think that it comes from wanting to be smaller for so long and now that it is here, I am worried that may be I just think I lost weight. Or at least for me. Good luck and let me know how the shopping goes.

I went to buy jeans today and got to buy a size 12. I have never been that small as an adult. Yippeeeee:thumbup:

Every diet I have done and with the band to I can't get below 165. It is nice to hear that I am not completely abnormal. AT least where this is concerned

Hi I live in AZ and my price was 15,000.00 that included a year of follow up and fills. Having had surgeries in Ca and AZ. CA will be more expensive. Good luck

:smile2: O.K. so here is my situation. I was banded back in March. I have been getting my fills and then had one that was way to tight. They have loosened it and I was going good for a couple of weeks. Well the last week or so I have started to have this hot feeling in the back of my throat. and I burp all the time. I also feel like someone is squeezing the inside of my chest. I read one post that some people feel their band get tighter when then are on there period. Don't know if that is true. Is it? I am worried to call the doctor because I am afraid the will want to take more out and then I won't be losing weight. Any suggestions on what to do or what might be causing this? Thanks

Don't worry I continually gained weight inbetween Dr. visits until we found the right restriction. I felt like I was the only person in the world who has weight loss surgery and actually gained weight. The nurse told me that it is not all that uncommon for thins to happen. Once you get the right restriction you will not be hungry or even thinking about food. You will succeed. Just be patient with yourself and your body.

Hi While the recovery is not that bad, I would suggest waiting until after the wedding, Not being able to fully enjoy that day isn't worth the chance. Plus there will be things before the wedding you will want to help with that you may not feel up to if you are in the middle of recovering. Good Luck

Hi I just wanted to let you know that not only did I stall until they found the right restriction, I was gaining weight. I thought really am I the only person in the world who has weight loss surgery and gains weight. Just try to remember that it is a process. A friend of mine had gastric bypass and she told me it took her three years to get all her weight off, so to be prepared for a long journey. I have to remind myself of that constantly because I still work out and I would like the weight to fall off. You know like to wake up and all my weight have been gone. But that is not happening to me,. As of now I am losing at a SLOW but steady pace. Just try to keep the faith and now that you will start to lose, it just might take awhile. Good Luck.

Hi I was banded back in March and I have a four and six year old. On the day of the surgery I just told them I was going to the doctors and when I got home I was going to be very sleepy. When I have a fill my kids know I go to the doctor for my tummy and the doctor is helping mommy to get healthy so she can live a long time. My daughter( 4) has gone to the doctors with me but she doesn't go into the room. I was afraid that the needle would scare her. (The staff at the place I go is really really great so they set a movie up for her while I get my fill.) My kids know I get shots in my tummy just like they get shots from their doctor. The office should have someone on call. Be very careful that you do not become dehydrated are there any surgeons in your area that do the surgery. May be call them. You are not doing anything wrong if you can not keep a protein shake down. You can't even chew those. Good luck and keep us posted.

Hi I would try speaking to a supervisor. I agree that she may have been confused with the 5 year weight history. A five year weight loss seems ridiculous. Good Luck

I seem to be able to really eat in the middle of the day. I usually have to start off with a liquid in the morning and have soup at night if I don't then I am slimming while I am trying to fall asleep and lately I have been throwing back up my medication I take at night. I always break it in half but Have stated to have problems keeping it down. Is it possible to go from being o.k. to being to tight with out a fill? Also is it O.K. to get protein in liquid form such as a shake in the mornings? Will the shake keep me full? Thanks for any help or suggestions. :wub:

The mother needs to talk to the school about having her child tested for a learning disability. He may be having a really hard time because he is not viewing the words or hearing the sounds the way everyone else did. I am speaking from experience. I struggled through school and was then tested in college and was found to be dyslexia. Step in for this child and be his voice before he starts to feel that he is lazy or stupid when he may have a legitimate reason for not understanding. Good Luck

Hi I wanted to know if others have experienced this and how they handled it. I was banded back in March 2009. I had a few port problems and some trouble finding the right restriction but I am finally there. I have been losing two pounds a week, so not a ton but it is slowly coming off. ( I keep telling myself slowly is better than nothing. Right?) So here is the problem, I can not get myself to shop for new cloths. I know, I thought this would be the most fun part. I love to shop. My cloths are falling off of me but I don't want to try on a new size. I am worried that a smaller size won't fit and then I will get discouraged because It has already taken such a long time. I had long time girlfriends here and we were in a store one of them had gastric and I was telling her that I would never try anything on in that store because I would be afraid it wouldn't fit. She said the reality of it is it probably would. I wanted something new for a concert and went to a plus size store bought the smallest size then had to keep pulling them up all night because they were to big. Am I crazy? Probably but is there anyone else out there who deal with this while they were losing their weight? :biggrin:

Hi I just wanted to let you know that i have experienced a little of the same. I was banded in March and have only lost about 8 pounds. And actually I just started losing that until we found the right restriction. Before then I was gaining a pound or two a week. It is not like I expected to wake up from surgery skinny (O.K. yes I did) but I did think it would come off faster. I was talking to a close friend who had gastric and she told me it took her three years to lose all her weight, so I needed to be prepared for it to go slower. Just keep doing what you are suppose to be doing and you will start to see results it just may take longer than it does for others. Plus I know it is frustrating when you get on here and people are saying they lost 20 pounds the first week out of surgery. Just keep the faith.

It took a awhile for me but I was taking the pain killers and I know that can cause constipation. I agree that you should start a stool sooner so when it dose work itself out it will be easier. Glad to hear everything else is going good.

Hi I was banded in March and I had a massage this weekend. Everything went fine I didn't have any problems. In fact it was the best massage ever. So if you happen to be in AZ I highly recommend the Bliss Spa. Good luck and enjoy.
