The clear liquids was the hardest! You can get through it, just drink more! Just remember why you are doing it! -
Really scared in Virginia!

Hi Ann, I just had the band placed on March 9, 2009. I went through many of the things you are going through right now. I was scared to death, but I was more scared to die. I was put on blood pressure recently, and I recently found out that my throid has burned out, so that made me gain more weight. I was told that I have sleep apnea, and was told to sleep with a bipap machine. I was staring death in the face, and I didn't like it. This work week has been the hardest, so hard in fact, that I had almost talked myself into going to my Doctor to tell him I wanted it reversed. However, with prayer, the help of my kids and family, and keeping a journal, I have gone over the hump. I am still on clear liquids, and when I get the cravings, I just remind myself that I don't want to hurt myself, or make myself sick. I only have to look at my kids, and that keeps me on track. I will see my doctor for my one week check up on Wednesday, and I can't wait to start on full liquids. They also gave us a bariatric cookbook when we left the hospital (there were 6 of us who had surgery on the same day, by the same doctor). Some of the receipes sound really good, and I am looking forward to trying them. They even have deserts in there!!!! Good luck to you, and keep in touch. Bren -

There is an html code on the ticker page. Copy and paste it into your signature! The zoo, that sounds like fun. Have a good time. Journaling has been a lifesaver for me. I wish I had started before the process, but I started late night after surgery. It really has helped. -
I had my lapband on March 9, 2009! This first week has been a nightmare! It is getting better, a little each day. Just looking forward to graduating to FULL Liquids, instead of clear. The hunger is the worse! However, i will survive. I go in for my 1 week check up on Wednesday, and Dr. Cavazos will hopefully increase my diet then. I am a single mother of two teenage boys, and have been fighting my weight for the last 19 years or so. With high blood pressure, DJD, sleep apnea and now a thyroid problem I decided I had to do something for me, if I wanted to live long enough to watch my kids graduate high school, and watch them get married and have their own families, and I want a whole new life that is all for me. A healthy new me. I am glad I found this site, because all of you have been there and know what I am going through now. Maybe I can gain some insight from you.

Hi! I'm Bren from San Antonio! We're neighbors! I just had the band placed on March 9. The first week is bad, but I am almost over the hump and can see light at the end of the tunnel. I understand it gets better after the first week. I found that keeping a journal about the whole experience has helped me a lot! Journaling has allowed me to get all my emotions out without taking them out on everyone else! Good luck! -
I had surgery on March 9. The day of surgery (after the surgery) I actually felt great! Was up walking and in no pain. The day after surgery I was tired, and still I didn't have much pain. The real struggle began after I was released from the hospital. I went through so many emotions! I found that keeping a journal about the entire process helped me a great deal. from the surgery, through to now. I don't sugar coat anything in my journal, I tell exactly what I am feeling, and I let all the feelings show. it has helped me a great deal! Just getting through this first week is hard, but I know that I can do it. Good luck, and keep in touch.

Thanks for the encouragement! I am making home made chicken noodles for my kids. I can't have the noodles or chicken, but I can have the soup, which has to be much better than the broth. I can't wait till next week. I can think of a lot of things to do with full liquids, it is just the clear liquids that is a problem.
