    I know how you are feeling but you are doing great! I had surgery on 7/14/2009 and have gone from 265 to 232 with a goal of 160-170 in mind. This journey is by no means easy but just think where you might be had you not decided to take this journey. I hope when you get your fill things will get better. Keep in touch ;-).

    slow progress- need advice

    Hi Jill, Congrats on losing 15lbs that is awesome!!! I am right there with you at about 3 1/2 months out and have only lost 22lbs. I have to agree with Nkara about adding in a Protein shake. Protein is the key here once I started to focus on Proteins first the weight has started coming off. Try to get at least 70g a day and if its 7pm and you havent made it...drink that Protein Shake. Also, carbs can be your worst enemy but if you must try sticking to the whole wheat ones and always eat those last...sometimes you will be too full to eat them. Good Luck!!!   7. Hey girl…I know it has been like forever. I am sure you are well in to the 30 or 40 pounds gone by now ;-). I on the other hand have finally gotten restriction as of a week now and am only down 22lbs total. I am so hoping that I will start to see a big difference. I had been struggling with the exercise as well between work, school and traffic but made sure I got at least an hour of cardio/weight lifting 3 times a week. I am taking a 2 week break before my next class starts so I have been doing some form of cardio everyday…even decided to try hiking...hehe. We definitely need to meet up…maybe on a Saturday we can go for a walk or something and do lunch. PG county has so many parks with trails and paths. I hope you are doing well and have restriction. I went to the doc yesterday and passed on a fill…its weird but all of a sudden I am tight and loving it…lol. Wait till u see us next summer ;-). Talk to you soon.

  9. Patience is so true. I think I am finally learning to work with this tool...I have to remember this is a tool. I now ask myself are you really hungry and do you need that and have pledged(lol) to workout 7 days a week 30 min a day no matter what I do. It def feels good to get back into a workout routine...my doctor gave me the go ahead to anything...I was so ready to do some crunches. Do you just do 3 meals a day, 5 small meals...just curious.

  10. Hey girl...I am having the same issue with being hungry 2-3 hours after eating...I am using fruit in between to keep my calories low and monitoring what I eat to see a trend...this is so not easy.

  11. Hey girl…I need some restriction and hope to have some today. I am scheduled for a fill as well…good luck to you at your visit. I feel like I could be doing better…I am still stuck at my 14lb loss. I am happy about it but feel like I could be doing much better. How are things going with you…any challenges?

  12. Hey Jessica…I have been banded since 7/14 so almost a month and I am down 14lbs. Like you I have gained since I am waiting on my fill(today hopefully…the office left 3 different times on my voicemail…lol.) but I am still at my 14lbs gone. I too find myself eating a lot less and slipping some goodies into my diet like a hot dog or a piece of cake at a BBQ. I work out about 4 times a week doing at least 30 min of cardio –walking, couch 2 5k, dancing or fake skiing in my living room with 5lb weights(my favorite). How are things going with you?? I feel like I need to put a plan together…I feel like I let someone cut into me an give me a tool…now I just need to work with it the right way. Keep in touch please ;-).

  13. Hey girl…how are you? I am hanging in there. I have not lost another pound in two weeks. I am up to working out 4 days a week. I see you have your first fill tomorrow…I will be going today. I need it bad…I can eat more than a cup and I don’t like that. I wish I could only eat 900 but I think I need to get some food ideas. You are so right about “Whoever believes this process is the easy way out is terribly mistaken.” I am at the point where I need to re-evaluate and come up with my plan. I feel like I need to write everything out. My goal was to be down 20lbs by the start of Football season and I am 6 pounds away. I need to heck in more often…motivation is sooo needed on my end.

  14. Wow....I am so proud of you "running on the treadmill this morning @ 3.5 with 2 incline" YOU GO!!!!! Now that is very encouraging to me. Wooo girl...its been so long running at an incline...you have me on a mission to get back to that. This is great being able to share. Are you on mushies yet? This is a little harder to me because I am scared to eat somethings...fear gaining. I just received my order for this thermogenic product from the company I recently started to work with. I am going to try it 4 two weeks and see what happens. Its supposed to increase my metabolism and burn more fat...I know I am crazy but I must try I saw myself in a pic at 210 recently and damn...lol. Chat with ya soon.

  15. No I don't have any restriction...I wish. I am limiting my food intake to 1 cup at a time but when it comes to water there is no limit...until the port area starts to buldge. I def cannot eat even close to the amount I used to which is a good thing. I wish I still had some swelling ;-).

  16. Hey girl...how are the workouts going? I am going to try the couch 2 5K plan and see how that works out. I managed to jog a little on the treadmill last night at 3.4 pace. It actually felt good. I can't wait to start seeing some big changes.

  17. Hey girl. How are things? I think its starting to get easier...this whole lifestyle change. I think I was just expecting lose a lot faster that I am now. I just need to remember to pace myself.

  18. Hey....I am feeling awesome. I am uping my exercise game because I see this is how it falls off. I agree it is difficult to make the right food choices but think of it this way we are on are way to a healthier life. I think I am struggling with actually using the tool to my advantage. I think it will get easier with restriction.

  21. Hey girl...how are ya? I am doing pretty good on the exercise...I did 45 on the elliptical at the gym last night and I have a treadmill at home so I walk at least 30 min a day. I hear exercise is the key. I am on mushies now and scared it will start to slow. I am going to see my BF in a month and a half so I decided that I will start back on all proteins tomorrow....damn those mashed potatoes. Last night I made some curried chicken salad yum!!! I think all of us in the DC area need to take a pole dancing class for a meet up what do u think??

  22. LOL...I soooo understand the mashed potatoes thing...me too. They just taste so good. Put the fork down...lol. NO but really eventually u will get tired of em...I finally did. Girl u still look good...I wish I was as toned as you. Just build yourself up...if you can do 20min this week then hey thats awesome go for 25 next week. I was just like you working it out...I had a trainer just before surgery and I will be back. I am just doing walking...I am up to an hour and lifting 5 lb weights until I hear from the doc next week. I actually did 45 min on the elliptical last night at the gym. I just stick to walking and the elliptical now. We are gonna be so much hotter ;-). Since I am on mushies now I made some curried chicken salad last night and it was actually really good. The best part of it was I could only eat 1/2 cup for lunch.
