Try UNJURY.com, they're pretty good....Plus you can order samples w/o buying a whole tub and it going to waste if you don't like it!!

Wrap your mid section real good in plastic wrap and you should be OK. That's what I did and it worked out well and didn't need assistance from anyone.

Anyone have to do Opti Fast for 2 weeks?
dotofoz replied to SD Chick's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Well, I did the 2 week optifast pre op diet, dreaded it, but I lost 9 pounds. I really ended up liking the actual drinks so much I bought some off someone else and still use them in smoothies! -
Well, I'm down (unofficially) 44 pounds and I'm SWIMMING in my birkenstocks that I bought almost a year ago! Hopefully this info helps!

When I was there (in 1989) there was a mideval restaurant in the top of Cinderella's Castle and it was WONDERFUL!

Public Service Announcement : Weight Loss & Alli (A pharmacists take on things)
dotofoz replied to beversman's topic in The Lounge
Well, I experienced all the graphic instances from the first post from the original RX dose. I couldn't tell you if I ever lost any weight or not. I guess it is like the band, if I eat too much, wrong foods, don't chew well, etc, I get a stabbing pain on my breast bone like someone stabbed me w/the end of a metal baseball bat. Needless to say, I try my hardest to follow the band rules. -
reflux, lapband, and Sertraline (zoloft) issues
dotofoz replied to YankeesFan's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Well, I too have had issues w/the zoloft! Just about 2 weeks ago, I took my pills and ended up with the sliming and horrible pain on my breast bone, much like when you eat too fast. I tried to throw them back up, but didn't work. Just had to deal with it.... -

Alysa, my dad had a quad bypass (each artery 95-99% blocked) in 1985 (when I was 15) and he still loves to exercise and tries to take care of himself too. I'm sending good vibes your way, God Bless! -

Well, I have an update. I previously posted about the guy I dumped for my now ex husband about 9 years ago and he now returned the favor to me. He "is not ready for a relationship", well he should've thought about that when we were at his house the other day, and I'll leave it at that. What a bummer! I guess karma D O E S exist. I was more upset over him (crying in my cube yesterday) than I ever was over my ex husband! Go figure. Just need some support here. I wanted SO BAD to go home and eat, eat, eat, but I didn't, as tempting as it was.....I had delusions of grandeour I guess. :help::cry -
Where did you have your surgery? They should have a list of places.

Now that I think about it, there ARE blades in that thing, rather small, but there are still blades in there.....I'd go w/the shaker cup to be safe!

I"d call the airport just to be sure so you don't have it confiscated. Yes, I know, 'sit down all, or I will blend you a really BAD protein smoothie if you don't comply with my requests!'

Definately an acquired taste, not a drink that suddenly pops into my mind like, "Hey, wonder if there's any Isopure in the fridge, I could sure go for a cold one." Having a bad day, thanks for giving me an honest chuckle! Don't ask me why but I really found that funny! You seem to have my sense of dry humor....

I am, was, and always will be a stomach sleeper. Almost 4 months out and didn't have any problems, except incision in beginning, but soon was back on my stomach.

Hmmm adding pudding, good idea!

A thread for Single Bandsters
dotofoz replied to NewBeginnings2018's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Well, I'm newly single (as of 10AM 5/29), divorce final. I'm NOT looking forward to the 'dating scene'. I'm coming out of a 6 year marriage and we were together for about 1 1/2 yrs befor we tied the knot. I have a 4 year old son to worry about, he's my number one concern now and to make sure he deals with the split OK. I recently found out the guy I dumped for my ex-husband almost 9 years ago is still single, he knows of the divorce and the fact that I made the wrong choice because I came out and told him the truth. We spoke on the phone last nite for about an hour and a half, but not sure what will become of it. Not sure if I should pursue it or not. Any advice would be appreciated (please don't be too cruel). -
who supports right to choose
dotofoz replied to 396power's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
If men could get pregnant there would be a 110% effective form of birth control. Maybe there should be a poll out there on how many men have had to make the sole choice to carry an unwanted pregnancy or not.....:lalala: -
Yes I agree w/Goldie. I have BCBS HMO OHIO (FEP). I had NO problem getting approved for my surgery I had 2/24/07. I'd also check the plan brochure, but appeal thru OPM and beware of the cut off dates for appeal. Alexandra had posted an EXCELLENT appeal letter sample some time ago on this site, you might want to check that out too. Good Luck, and I'm sending you good vibes!!!! Keep us posted!

Yes, I agree w/Denise822! That feeling is pretty painful, as I have experiencied myself quite a few times...The only thing that provides immediate relief is to make myself throw up, and that doesn't take too much effort. However, you want to avoid throwing up so you don't slip your band. You'll get the hang of it soon enough, trust me!

Were you covered by insurance? Did it pay for the re-banding surgery? Please say yes....
-
I agree, it rocks! The sf is OK, but I'd rather drink less of the regular....I ended up adding Torani sf syrup to the sf one...

Were you drug tested before surgery?
dotofoz replied to Candle's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Never did the stuff so wasn't an issue for me. I did have to take a mandatory pregnancy test the day of surgery before they put me on the guerny (sp). I told the nurse that if it came back positive I'd be in the National Enquirer for immaculate conception though. And that I'd split the photo fee prize w/her! -
Well, I have 2....Lying and Laziness.

MORE than glad to help! Oh, and thanks for the congrats on my weight loss. It hasn't been easy (as you all can attest to). My personal goal is to lose another 46 pounds.....I bought a size 14 pair of capris on clearance (from last year's stock I"m sure), but can't get in them yet (i'm only 4'11" so the fat's compacted). I'm hoping to get into them by August 1, 2007. Keep your chin up, you'll do fine, you just have to stick to what they say. My main advise is do not start solids too early, and chew chew chew chew!
