Anyone bandsters start at 400lbs?
Lovetotest replied to Lovetotest's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am having so much trouble getting the 10% off so they can set up the surgical date. I was 404, lost down to 381 and now I am back up to 398 eating carbs. Ugh, I am just so fustrated with myself. If I can't even get the 10% off so they can set the appt. how can I ever be succesful after the surgery. I am just so unhappy with me right now. Linda 398.4 YUCK, I need to get at least 40lbs off before they will be willing to set the surgery date! -

Hello, I have started the process of working towards getting a lapband. I am scared and excited at the same time. Part of me still things I can do this without the tool. But my past history shows me different. I am going to be 52 in June and I have be overweight all my life. I have been around the 350-400 mark since 1990. So for the last 20 yrs of my I have only once been able to lose 100 pounds only to put it back on. I have severe osteoarthritis in my hip and desperately need a hip replacement. I am in constant pain. I have sleep apena, the beginnings of high blood pressure, asthma and well lets just say I am a mess. Have any of you come from really big numbers and made your way down to whatever normal might be. Like BMI of 30 or less using the band? I will not have a RNY, so that is not an option for me. I am excited yet anxious about getting the band because I hear a lot of people in the same boat with their band as they were without it. I don't want that to be me! Thanks in advance for any feedback you leave Linda~ -
Hi everyone, My name is Linda. I have a consultation set up this Monday for LAPBAND. Alot of what I struggle with now, pre-op is what most of you still struggle with Post-op. That is making really second guess my decision to have this surgery. I mean, if I am going to have all these struggles that I have now, why have the banding right? I am just thinking out loud here. Like the PB's, the fact that you can't eat certain things without pain, no drinking with meals, some foods disagree, I mean I feel like I would be going from one hellish experience to another I am just so confused. I didn't expect that this would be a magic bullet, but gosh, it really sounds as hard if not harder to do then being 376 lbs and dieting and binging now. What are your thoughts on my thinking. I really appreciate your honest feedback. I am thinking, if I can't weigh and measure my food now, what will be different after the banding, as so many of you still struggle so much with the same food issues. Hugs, Linda
