Hello flp I am currently waiting for my my big day. Dr. Mann will be my surgeon. Do you have any concerns about him? :tongue_smilie: I heard alot about the other surgeons but nothing from area residents in regards to Dr. Mann.:thumbup:

Hi Vickie Before considering the lap band, I could not lose more than 10 lbs. I have been fat all my entire 50 years. I tested out the pre-op carb diet and lost 15 lbs. the first week. However, I haven't been able to lose a lb. since. The good thing is that I havew been able to keep the 15 lbs. off for the past three months. I am currently waiting for a surgery date.

Test out the post opt diet for a week in cutting your carbs down to 40. I found that the taste of food just isn't the same, for I too loved to eat. So far, I have lost 15lbs. and kept it off for the past three months. Prior to the low carb diet, I could not lose more than 10lbs. I am currently waiting waiting for my surgery date. -
Hello I am new to the game. Dr. Mann was recommended to me by my daughter in-law; who had the surgery last year and is doing extremely well. She has lost over 70lbs.

Hi Mary I am from Mt. Olive. Read your story and felt your pain, for I too have been big all my life. I can't lose more than 10lbs. Therefore, I am considering the lap band. I have completed all my appointments. I am waiting for a surgery date, which I hope is very soon.

I am using Blue Cross. So far, I have been covered for everything except my co-pays. I have completed all my appointments as of last week. I now await my surgery date. I really think it depends on what type of Blue Cross coverage you have as to whether you are covered. Check by calling thier toll free number located on the back of your Blue Cross card. Good Luck!
