:kiss2: :kiss2: Yay, everything's all better and resolved!

Time to love me, I'm even later than you. I was having the same thought about being kicked to the august group The people at the beginning of the month are going to be getting fills by the time I get banded! I'm here for ya!

Yay Beacheegirl Thanks for the pics!

How Ironic... I was just sitting here in my house, and went and searched the kitchen for something to snack on. I decided that i had "nothing" to eat. Darn it, I ended up having to snack on low fat beef Jerky (I"m sure that will be a no-no after the band). My point is... i didn't buy junk food so I didn't have any to eat when I was bored/mildly hungry. It worked this time!

Funny Duddies, Good for you for not eating the coconut cake. I wish I had someone to bring me home coconut cake... maybe I don't because of FUPA??? AND... Someone was embracing their fupa??? Most people don't admit to that in public :) :) :grouphug: I want to be in when you guys reconvene in August... I'll have a band by then!

You guys crack me up! -
Bug, A hiatal hernia is where the stomach slips through the diaphragm.... therefore your surgery scars/soreness should be in the same place. Most hiatal hernias aren't operated on, but not too many people know that. Diverticulitis would explain some belly pain and diet changes. (Inflammation of "pouches" that can get created in your intestines) Most people would be placed on cipro for that (for story completeness)

Yay for July 31! :grouphug: It does seem sooo far away though. My original date was 7/5 but my work wouldn't let me have it off... bummer -
another question- Did you take your computer to mexico? Did you have a way to even plug it in? Liz

woo hoo for people in my boat! well... i mean i guess it would be better if we had significant others, but look at us- we're educated independant females. Go us. I do like to know I'm not alone. :clap2:

Hi Saul, I'm not married. But.... that's become one of my criteria. I was seeing this guy fairly casually (not willing to commit to him) and one of my reasons for breaking up with him is because he's heavy and doesn't seem to care. I'm working really hard to become a new improved me. It's kindof selfish, kindof superficial, but definitely the truth. Your problem is that whole for better for worse thing.... hmmm.... no real advice, but i can see your problem. Have you tried talking to her about the issue? Will she consider getting banded?
-
I'm hoping on someone else picking the 31st too!
-
Janelle, You're not married or in a relationship? I thought I was the only one. Did you have to do your post-op stuff on your own? Did you travel by yourself? I'm a little worried since I'm doing this on my own.

I am supposed to go get passport pics done today, but my stupid ex-boyfriend kept me on the phone until 3 am crying. Now my eyes are all swollen and I look terrible! I guess passport pictures are supposed to look awful, right? Liz

I was thinking the same thing. 88% complication rate with 50% nausea and vomiting. I think we all expect some degree of nausea +/- vomiting (pb'ing). Sounds awfully inflated to me.

I don't know if they use them, but the name of the device you're talking about is sequential compression devices (SCD's)
-
Thanks! I kept seeing that everywhere

I'm wondering if you ever forget that you've been banded. Do you ever feel like just a normal person, or are you constantly aware that you have this white piece of plastic in your belly? Liz

what is nsv?

Yikes. No bra? My "girls" have minds of their own! I'm guessing the incision site doesn't like that bra though.... hmmm... Do you think I'd be able to tolerate one of those little shelf bras without a wire?
