I had surgery November 7th, 2008 and have lost 30 pounds. I had first fill 6 weeks after surgery and one every month after. Third fill offered more restriction but when weighing in found that I had actually gained a pound. Not too much of a shock because I drank some high calorie beverages the week before the fill. I had the fill yesterday but I am still unable to hold down liquid. I don't get nauseas but find it just kind of erupts. If this relaxes then it may be just where I need it to be. My question is Should I just wait a couple of more days or so before reporting the issue to my doctor? I don't want to have fluid taken out if this will pass. Any suggestions will be appreciated. Thanks!

I appreciate the feedback. I actually went in this morning and the doctor was great. He had put in 1cc and took out 3/10 cc leaving most and that did the trick. This is the most restriction I've felt. On the up side I lost 6 pounds in 2 days while I know some of this will certainly come back even with just drinking liquids but it sure was nice to see after the pound gain. I am exicted and ready to rumble.

November Bandster Wants Caffeine. Should I?
dperez01 posted a topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I started the liquid diet and will have surgery on Friday the 7th. I'm dealing pretty well with it. I expected to starve. My only concern is eliminating caffeine. The pre-op diet doesn't say and I'd like to kow before tomorrow morning whether or not drinking coffee would be a bad thing. I'll call the Dr. tomorrow but ususally drink before going to work around 6:00. Anyone know whether this is a no no?? -
I Got My Surgery Date...Where Are The November Bandsters?
dperez01 replied to Cappy's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm another November Bandster! My surgery is scheduled for the 7th and I too am soooo excited! Glad to hear others went through the "Last Supper" syndrome. I have eaten my last solid food this evening. My doctor has me on liquids for the 5 days before surgery. I am scared of doing without caffeine for that long. Good for you amylynns for starting early. I can't say I'm nervous or shocked Cappy but I am trying to grasp how this will truly change my life. -

I'm getting banded on the 7th and I'm soooo excited. I had a much more serious surgery a year ago and understand your concerns. This surgery has such minimal risk I have decided to focus on what the day will represent, "A new beginning"! We are about to change our lives and a year from now will be happier and healthier than we have been for some time. Picture yourself a year from now and where you'll be. Please post again after surgery and let us know how it went. You'll do great. -
I am going for my three month check up tomorrow of a required four before surgery. I had a slight gain at the two month and will show another gain tomorrow. I fear as a result they may make me wait longer. I have no doubts about the surgery and I'm more than ready to take the plunge. Anyone else gain before the surgery? If so did the show go on as scheduled?

I am researching doctors in the Fort Worth area. I am currently seeing primary doctor for the insurance requirement of 6 months doctor supervised diet. I would welcome any and all advice anyone could give on getting the process started so that I can get the surgery as quickly as possible with insurance approval. Thanks!:confused2:
