I had mine pierced vertically with bars. I loved it! I loved the way it looked and they healed up really quickly. However as I got older and my PMS got worse i was having more and more breast tenderness during that time i finally just took them out. I miss them.

doodleallday, have you actually told your surgeon about your concerns with the PA? Sometimes you have to actually say the words "i don't want the PA to do my fill, i would rather you do it" and find out what you need to do to make that happen. If there is one thing this whole journey has taught me is that you have to be the "squeaky wheel". And you have to say exactly what you mean.

can you specifically request not to be seen by the PA? does your surgeon do fills? I refuse to see the PA at my surgeons office, i have friends who've seen her and she is just not good all around so i understand what you're saying. I came to the conclusion and being thin was not worth the constant pain that i had for that day and a half. I hope they can get you in right away and get you feeling better!

i was banded on aug 21, 2009. I went thru all the hoops! 6 months of a doc supervised diet, multiple psych appointments (like 4!), a couple sleep studies, i ran the whole gamut! 4 months out i've lost 45 lbs. i've dropped from a size 20 jean to a 14. I'm off one of my two blood pressure meds. my knees never ache like they use to. I've had 5-6 fills and recently one small unfill. A friend asked me the other day if my weight loss were to end here would i do it again? Oh Yes. even if 45 lbs was the end of it i would do it all over again. I feel great! I can't really see the weight loss when i look in the mirror but i hear other people can, lol! eventually i'm sure i'll start to recognize it and thankfully I know it's not the end, as the weight is still coming off. and i know it can be even better. No regrets at all!

What will you be eating this year for Thanksgiving?
rachnett replied to mominkansas's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I ate the most glorious thanksgiving meal. A spoon full of dressing. A spoon full of green beans. A spoon full of corn pudding. And a very small piece of juicy turkey. oh and a spoon full of yams. I'm a week past my 4th fill and am just loosening up a bit (i was very tight last week). It was wonderful to actually enjoy the meal and not feel disgusting afterwards! -

What's all the fill hype about?
rachnett replied to SumSum's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
i had my fourth fill today. nothing to it! I had great restriction after my 3rd fill. I thought, finally this is how it's supposed to feel! and then about 7 days later everything loosened up and i had hardly any restriction. I'm optimistic though. I realize it's a slow journey and i will eventually get to my sweet spot. Thank goodness my Dr is the best! He says four weeks between fills but if i loose the restriction he's all about moving my appointment up. So far i've not gone more than 3 weeks between fills 2 - 4. -
when will I feel differently about me?
rachnett posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm not quite 3 months post op. I've lost a total of 38 lbs. I started at a size 20 jeans but yesterday I purchased a size 14! A 14. I wore a size 14 to work today, yeah right! Two sizes down in under 3 months, not too bad. I was really excited when i tried them on and they fit perfectly. I was stoked to wear them to work today. But the day came and went and i realized I really don't feel any better in them. I still feel like a fat ass (pardon the politically incorrect adjectives but that's exactly how i feel). When will i start feeling differently about myself? I realize 38lbs isn't a lot a lot but still, shouldn't i feel, I don't know better about me? Shouldn't i feel like i look differently? I've taken some recent pictures and i can't really even see a difference. I would have thought by now i would be able to. Is it all in my head? -
