POLL - Whats your sweet spot in 10cc band?
lindasqd51 replied to bunnykin4u's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
You've heard this before from me. Supposed to be filled to capacity. Yep, checked the level, it's all still there. After last fill for about 3 days I'd eat a little and feel the "STOP" time. Then it went away. I can eat way too much with no feeling of being full. Yes, chewing well and taking my time. There is nothing I can't eat. Not that I've gone nuts or anything. I told the doc all this--and his response was maybe I'm a real good chewer thus everything gets through. I told him I did all this because my built in off switch never kicked in on it's own. Thusly I was hoping for some help from the band. Last month I lost 7 pounds-with no help from the band. Doc was thrilled but I've gotten off the wagon this month. My dog got real sick and needed to be put down. Hubby's job is questionable but a good prospect is on the horizon. Depressed and pissed off is my current attitude. I've always known what I had to do to loose weight-it was the ability to keep it off I always failed at. I am thrilled to be down 75 (8 dress sizes). But I'm suppose to see the doc Wednesday--I've put back on 5 to 7 (depending on scale). Could there be a reason I'm not getting the help with the band that I should? Thanks for listening to the rant. April Bunnies '09- Let's share: How are you doing?

Weight since pre op time..307 ..as of yesterday 233-down 74 fills---12cc band--I've got 10cc of Fluid Restriction: NONE I actually ate a piece of garlic bread. It wasn't some whimpy little piece either. Doc can't believe no restriction. I told him that's why I had this surgery to give me a better turn off eating switch since my bio one never seemed to work. But since I'm loosing he's not really worried. I've lost before and gained before--that's why I got the band Rules: I follow them--chew chew chew Linda -
How Many cc's in your band and how is
lindasqd51 replied to speck's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I've got a 12cc band with 9cc in it and no restriction. It has 10cc max. I get another fill next week. I'm so worried about what happens if you get to max without restriction. And yes they checked the fluid level. linda -

1. WEIGHT-from initial consult/ surg 4/9 til today-down 62lb 2. FILLS-12cc band-3 fills at 3cc each time=9cc 3. RESTRICTION-no restriction 4. RULES-I stick to the rules even without restriction. I try to walk each day. My block is 1/2mile so easy to keep track of distance. 5. ANYTHING ELSE-I can eat way too much. Got another fill on the 12th. -
I've got the lapband 12cc ap. It has a max fill of 10cc. I've had 3fills of 3cc each for a total of 9cc. AND NO RESTRICTION. Yes, the doc checked and all the fluid is still there. I go again on the 12th. Anyone else have this band? When did you reach fill. Linda

I use benefiber in my protein shake every morning. Can you say AHHHH! Linda

Honest Answers Needed on Restriction
lindasqd51 replied to tym2findme's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
My problem is lack of restriction. I've got a 12cc band with a max fill of 10 cc. So, far after 3 fills--I'm at 9cc. I don't have restriction yet. I see my doc on the 12th. I'm very careful about small bites and chewing so I don't get use to no restriction. -

I was banded on Tuesday. I've got a pain right between the boobs when I take a deep breath. It's not like a pneumonia pain--I've had that before. There is an incision right there. It's almost like a deep bruise pain. Could it be from the mucking around in there? I'm not couging or anything but deep breaths do hurt. Linda

That makes sense. Linda

Officially A April Bandster Bunny 1 day Post-op
lindasqd51 replied to Lapbanded_Paladin's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I became a "bandit" on Tuesday. Went to mushies today. Sleeping the night through has been difficult. I like to sleep on my side and that can't happen right now. So, glad all went well for you. Linda -
I've been to Disney 7x. And though I know it like the back of my hand I always pick up the current Birbaum's book. He puts one out each year. It is the Disney bible. For example we went for christmas 2006--I had to make the dinner reservations in July 2006. My daughter and son read it and made a couple of special requests. Like horse back riding. We used the meal plan and it was great--everything prepaid was so sweet. We plan to go again in 3 years-though I'd go sooner. I recommend the book to everyone. Linda

Those that have had surgery this week
lindasqd51 replied to comtemplating's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Banded on the 7th. Sore put pain pump was nice. My doc allowed nothing by mouth til after barium test on Wednesday at 11. Results didn't come in til 1pm--so I was not happy. Then tray came--careful you'll want to drink it all. I did cheat on docs orders sipped some water--tiny tiny sips. Got home about 3 yesterday. On clear liquids today. I went for a 1/2 mile walk and about to do it again. I have a timer to make sure I drink 1 ounce every 15 minutes. Still on pain meds but gonna go to just tylenol during the day--save the T3 w/codiene for the night. Linda -
What did you wear on surgery day?
lindasqd51 replied to hrtgoeson's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Just banded on the 7th. Over the head motion no problem. I wore an oversized fleece shirt and elastic waist jeans. I didn't do the bra and underwear though. The bra would irriated the surgery area and panties would make it hard to pull up the pant. As soon as I was home changed into my pjs. Today wearing all regular clothes and did 1/2 mile walk and about to do another. Linda -

WEll, it's done. Went into OR around 8 back in recovery 9:20-well that's when I was awake enough to ask the time. All went well. Got to my room around 12. I was surprised that my doc said nothing eat or drink until barium swallow the next day. Yes, I was bad. Told hubby to wet wash cloth so I could suck on it. My mouth was so dry my lips were sticking to my gums. Oh and yeah the recovery nurse let me have and ice chip or 2--but dont' tell the doc. I know should listen to doc but--that's me. So, later on in the room the nurse let me swish water and spit. Felt so good. I did have a water bottle in my bag since I'm use to well water and our city water-not so good. Yep, you guessed it I stole itty bitty sips. Pain level is okay. Lower back hurt from how I slept last nigh. God I miss the hospital bed. Linda -

Just heard from my doc. I go into the hospital at 6am. So, by this time tomorrow all is said and done. My doc does 2 day liquid, then 2 mushy , then on to regular food. Hey--Kmg365 I have a feeling we liked the same show from the seventies. Lindasqd51 (squad 51) -

WEll, tomorrow is the big day. I had to start liquid diet on the Sunday. I also had to take protonix (spelling). It's an acid reducer. WEll, I got the top 3 side effects. Called the doc and he said stop taking it. So, really didn't consume anything that stayed down yesterday. Gotta make sure I get more liquid into me today. How you guys do a liquid diet for 2 weeks blows my mind. Lindasqd51 -

Well, after a hiccup with whoever read my ekg all is a go for banding on the 7th. The idiot who read the ekg read flagged it so here I was excited about banding then nervous about the ole ticker. When I saw the cardiologist he literally laughed at was on the report. He said my ekg was great and gave me the clearance. Just got back from meeting with the dietician so all is a go.
