I don't know enough about preparing kosher, so if this is a moronic suggestion, sorry. But, I would think your money would be better spent by hiring a cleaning service to totally scrub your place. That way, you could relax and do all the cooking where you are most comfortable (when it's clean). A clean place is so much easier to keep clean, and much less stressful. Initially, the cleaning service will probably charge you a bundle, if it's as bad as you imply, but think about how free you'll feel when it's clean...compared to spending the money and time to go elsewhere to prepare food, only to come back to a depressingly messy home.

Left rib pain after surgery.
Laptastic replied to megster27's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
That's from when they shoved your liver to the side. It'll go away very soon. -
When I went to my first informational session, the doctor was very eager an interested in my situation...until he discovered that my insurance doesn't cover weight loss surgery. I became very discouraged until I did some research on self-pay options. I found a different doctor, local, that made it very easy and somewhat affordable...$9950. I am telling you this just in case you find that your insurance won't pay. Don't give up. There are ways to do it.

Dr. Gerald Kirshenbaum - Considering Dr. Kirshenbaum

Hillarious! I'll be there. -
I was banded on a Thursday and went back to work on the following Monday. My job is not very physical. You can't drive if you're on a narcotic for pain. I only had pain from trapped gas in my shoulders and I found that 800mg of motrin gave me a lot of relief. Good luck!

Change is always scary. You'll be fine. This is exciting! It's just "cold feet". Imagine how you'll feel when there is so much less of you. Good luck and check back in after your banding.:tongue_smilie:

First post...Surgery on Monday, March 30th. :-)

I was banded on the 19th. My doc gave me liquid vicodin for pain and an antibiotic to fight infection. They made me take off my earrings and all other jewelry. I'm happy for you. If I could have done this ten years ago, I would have. In my twenties, I wasn't too bad yet. Good luck! By the way, the only pain I experienced was from trapped gas in my shoulders. It sucked bad, but it went away in about a week. -
Calling All MARCH '09 Bandsters - We need a name!
Laptastic replied to gabi311b's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Teach, I think we were banded on the same day, and I also work in a school, though not as a teacher, a sign language interpreter. Kids are exhausting. I started working out a few days ago - walking on a treadmill for an hour. I think the only difference between us is what we're eating. If I were only consuming liquids, I'm sure I wouldn't have the energy to excercise. I'm lactose intollerant, so many of the protein drinks aren't an option for me. Instead, I've been eating lots of omelets. Hopefully, your doctor will let you eat something more substantial so you'll feel more energetic. -
Dr. Gerald Kirshenbaum - Considering Dr. Kirshenbaum

Hi everyone. I'd like to join you on April 1st at Red Robin, but how do I find you? I can see myself just taking a seat with random people. It could be embarassing. -
who supports right to choose

Pro Choice with Pro Choice daughters. No point in arguing it. In my experience, only Anti Choice proponents change their minds...which is their choice. -

Just got home from my one week follow-up. Thankfully, the gas bubble in my shoulder has finally gone away. I thought I was going to have to cut off my arms to get rid of the pain. -

Hi fellow Marchers. I was banded on the 19th. I still have a gas bubble that feels like a migraine in my shoulder, but luckily that's the only pain I'm having. Soooo looking forward to melting along with you. Going for my first follow-up on the 26th. Will change my ticker accordingly. -
I am soo freakin excited! Eighteen hours til surgery. Unfortunately, insurance won't pay, but luckily I have a doctor who bands for $9950 super close to my house.

Surgery went fine. A little sore just below my rib cage, a little gas in the shoulder, but otherwise fine. How are you doing with yours?
-
Good luck with your surgery! I'm too excited to be nervous. Tomorrow will be great for both of us.
