Poll - Democrat or Republican?

Right you are. The American Eagle can not fly with either it's left wing or it's right wing missing. That is the problem right now. House of Representatives: Republican-Conservative The US Senate: Republican-Conservative The President: Republican-Conservative The Federal Court System: Republican-Conservative Many claim that the judges of the federal Court System are Liberal. The judges of the federal Court System are appointed by the President. I doubt that any of the judges of the federal Court System that were appointed by Jimmy Carter are still on the bench. That means that since 1981, the last 25 years, because Republican presidents have been doing the appointing for 17 of those 25 years, that about 70% of the judges on the federal Court bench are Republican. If conservatives are complaining about the the LIBERAL judges of the federal Court System, it might indicate that the conservatives have become too radical. I doubt many of the Conservative majority would agree with my conclusion that "The American Eagle can not fly with either it's left wing or it's right wing missing." They are intent with trying to fly with no left wing. They are setting up the American Eagle and this country for a terrible crash. -

Both Clinton and BuSh share in the blame for 911. However, there were some people who served in both the BuSh and Clinton cabinets and they have said that events in the "Path to 911" mini-series movie that were supposed to have taken place under Clinton have been distorted. Either something was said in the movie that was never actually said, some event that was depicted in the movie never actually took place or something that was said in the movie by one person was instead said by someone else or worse yet somethings that two people said where given credit to one person for saying it. That is why there was a lot of complaining about the movie from the Democrats and why Rush, Sean, Billy O and other Republican Talk show hosts (AKA the "Fair and Balance" crew from FOX) were so happy. Sunday, Clinton looked worse then he actually was in part 1 due to the distortions of fact and the combination of characters. Monday, when BuSh's errors were high-lighted, Monday Night Football stole the audience. Both WABC and ESPN the networks that played the movie and Monday Night Football are owned by the same company who produced the "Path to 911" movie. But that is just a coincidence. Right? -
They all Lie. The candidate for California's senate seat now held by Dianne Feinstein has admitted lying about serving on the Battleship Missouri during the Korean War. Dick Mountjoy, who will challenge Democrat Sen. Dianne Feinstein in November’s election, did not appear on the ship’s muster rolls, the Los Angeles Times reported, citing military records. The statement about the Missouri was on Mountjoy’s campaign Web site, alongside a photo of him as a young sailor: “After graduating from Monrovia-Arcadia-Duarte High School, Dick joined the Navy and served during the Korean War aboard the Battleship Missouri,” said the statement, which also was featured in a film on the site.

If you think I am picking on you (or flaming, bashing, etc.) please tell me to leave you alone and I will. I am curious; what has BuSh tried to fix? Which presidents mess things up? When did things go wrong? The problem that many people have with people who call themselves Christians is that many are not forgiving. Earlier in this thread I said: and then I printed the Beatitudes. Most people who belong to the Christian Right seldom quote Christ, but they are quick to misinterpret the "An Eye for an Eye" verse. "An Eye for an Eye" was not meant as permission to get even, it was meant as a limit on how much retribution one would be allowed to take. It is probably the basis for our constitutional prohibition on "Cruel and Unusual Punishment". I don't see Jesus as having lead an Invasion of Iraq, ordering "Shock and Awe" over Baghdad or the carpet bombing of Afghanistan. I didn't expect the USA to "turn the other cheek" after 911, but isn't that what Jesus preached? Didn't the Christians who were taken prisoners by Romans die in the Coliseum without lifting their hands in defense? Is the United States acting more like those Christians or like the Romans? Again please do not feel picked on. These are rhetorical questions and if you can not answer them, at least please think about them. I listened to FOX radio today and they have made a comical song about the President Clinton-Chris Wallace interview over the weekend. They have edited clips into the song to mock what happened. No matter who you think was right, it is not something to laugh about. It is a serious issue; one which needs a national debate about. -

I predicted Hillery was Ms. Rice at another forum at least a year ago. 98% of the Black women who voted in the last two presidential elections voted for the Democrat. Putting Ms. Rice against Hillary would gain many more votes from Blacks for Rice than the Republican would lose from the son's of Dixie. Does anyone remember George McGovern? It is truly enlightening that both George McGovern and Barry Goldwater were given the same rough treatment first by the media and then by the voters, who elected their opponents in landslides. Each had a plan for changing the status quo. Each had a plan that required trying something that might have improved our country. The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over, while expecting the results to change. By that definition the US voting public is insane. When you look at the choices we have had for president, there is not that much difference between them. And as long as we alternate to some degree from one party to the other, we basically bang our head off the same wall, over and over, one step forward and two steps back. McGovern's plan was a negative income tax. Under the system of welfare in place when he ran for office in 1972, if a family was on welfare and daddy came around, the family was thrown off of welfare even though daddy did not bring in enough money to feed, cloth and shelter his family. The system encouraged broken families. With the McGovern's negative income tax plan, the father would have been able to get a entry level job and instead of taking taxes out, he would have had tax money added to his check. Example: a man making $200 a week in those days might pay $25 federal tax with two children. If the man had one child, he might pay $30 federal tax or another man might pay $20 federal tax with three children. A man who made $100 a week with two children might pay only $5. But a man making $60 a week would pay nothing, but so would a man making $80 a week, pay nothing. Under McGovern's plan, the man making $80 would get $5 from the government and the man making $60 would get $15 from the government. By doing this the man could live with his family and as he got raises, he would gradually move from receiving money to giving money (in the form of taxes). This plan would cost too much the media claimed, but it would have cost nothing, because the welfare case workers would no longer be needed. And that was one of the largest uses of welfare money, paying for case workers. -

Both. It was deliberate. It did more harm to the Native Americans than if it had been done to Europeans. -
Well, it wasn't funny, but I was wondering what other people would have done. :help: I left my wife at the local Nationally known co-ed gym to work out and went to the bank and post office to take care of chores. As I mentioned in another thread, I am having a hard time walking because of knee damage, so I wasn't going to work out. I got back to the gym's parking lot, parked my car and started to go into the gym where I figured I would read my book (Purpose Driven Life) while I waited. As I got close to the door, a man, about 65 years old, 5'6" or 5'7" and about 150 pounds (maximum, maybe less) was getting on a scooter. I asked him, "How fast is the maximum speed on that?" He replied, "About 35 for me, but about 30 for you". :faint: I was shocked but came right back with, "That wasn't very nice". :embarassed: "You asked me a question, I gave you an honest answer." I am younger, taller and 100 pounds heavier than him and I felt like saying something, like "It won't go too fast with my foot stuck up your ass", but I remembered that I must try to be a real Christian and emulate Jesus, so I turned the other cheek and walked away shaking my head. When I told my wife, she was amazed. "How did he know that you weren't going to kick his butt?" she asked.

gonnabethin: Your complaints are honest, valid and logical. If the words socialism and communism were never invented, could you see where a Canadian style medical program might be beneficial to this problem and this country? GM & Ford are on the verge of bankruptcy. Yes, they could do better with their car quality, but that is not the real problem. The problem is the medical system in the USA. Medical? GM? Ford? Bankruptcy? Yes!! GM & Ford claim that the cost of covering employee medical benefits is more money per car than the cost of the steel in each car. GM & Ford have to add almost $2,000 to the price of each vehicle to cover the cost of medical insurance. If GM & Ford each produced a car identical in quality to a Toyota Camry, they would have to charge $2000 more for it. That is why GM & Ford have offered buyout packages to most of their workers. GM & Ford are willing to pay these people $140,000 each to leave as long as GM & Ford can get out of their medical insurance obligations. WHY? Because, the foreign car manufactures' car-builders in Japan and Germany have medical plans funded by taxes. Toyota, Nissan, Mercedes, etc. do not have to pay for medical insurance for their workers. The workers that GM & Ford hire, if and when business gets better will not have medical insurance as a benefit. They may become more of the same problem that gonnabethin describes in the intelligently written piece above. -

Regarding Putting the 10 Commandments into public buildings. There are three generally accepted versions of the 10 commandments: Protestant Version: 1. Thou shalt have no other gods before me. 2. Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the Water under the earth. Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the Lord thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me; And showing mercy unto thousands of them that love me, and keep my commandments. 3. Thou shalt not take the name of the Lord thy God in vain: for the Lord will not hold him guiltless that taketh his name in vain. 4. Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy. Six days shalt thou labor, and do all thy work: But the seventh day is the sabbath of the Lord thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy Manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates: For in six days the Lord made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the Lord blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it. 5. Honor thy father and thy mother: that thy days may be long upon the land which the Lord thy God giveth thee. 6. Thou shalt not kill. 7. Thou shalt not commit adultery. 8. Thou shalt not steal. 9. Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbor. 10. Thou shalt not covet thy neighbor's house, thou shalt not covet thy neighbor's wife, nor his manservant, nor his maidservant, nor his ox, nor his ass, nor any thing that is thy neighbor's. Catholic Version: 1. I am the Lord thy God. Thou shalt not have strange gods before me. 2. Thou shalt not take the name of the Lord thy God in vain. 3. Remember thou keep the Sabbath Day. 4. Honor thy Father and thy Mother. 5. Thou shalt not kill. 6. Thou shalt not commit adultery. 7. Thou shalt not steal. 8. Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbor. 9. Thou shalt not covet thy neighbour's wife. 10. Thou shalt not covet thy neighbour's goods. Hebrew Version: 1. I am the Lord thy God, who brought thee out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of slavery. 2. Thou shalt have no other gods before Me. Thou shalt not make unto thee a graven image, nor any manner of likeness, of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth; Thou shalt not bow down unto them, nor serve them; for I the Lord thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate Me; And showing mercy unto the thousandth generation of them that love Me and keep My commandments. 3. Remember the sabbath day to keep it holy. Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work. But the seventh day is the sabbath in honour of the Lord thy God; on it thou shalt not do any work, neither thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates; For in six days the Lord made the heavens and the earth, the sea, and all that is in them, and rested on the seventh day; therefore the Lord blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it. 4. 5. Honour thy father and thy mother; in order that thy days may be prolonged upon the land which the Lord thy God giveth thee. 6. Thou shalt not kill. 7. Thou shalt not commit adultery. 8. Thou shalt not steal. 9. Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbor. 10. Thou shalt not covet thy neighbour's house; thou shalt not covet thy neighbour's wife, nor his manservant, nor his maidservant, nor his ox, nor his ass, nor any thing that is thy neighbour's. However, I defy anyone to show me anywhere in the Bible where 10 commandments are laid out and numbered 1 through 10. In both Exodus and Deuteronomy, there are what most people would call the basis for the Ten Commandments, but Exodus 20 takes verses 2 to 17 to spell out the Ten Commandments, while Deuteronomy 5 needs verses 6 through 21. That is 16 verses in each book to spell out 10 commandments. Of course this makes the 10 commandments rather arbitrary as to where each commandment starts and ends. -

There was a lot of controversy in NY about 30 years ago because a judge ruled that banning women from walking around top-less in public places was a violation of the constitution because the 14th amendment states that we are all equal under the law, so unless the NY legislature passed a law that neither men nor women could go top-less, the law against women going top-less was invalid. So there were pictures in the paper with lines in the appropriate(?) places about two x-nuns riding the subway topless and women walking down Manhattan streets top-less, etc. Anyway, I made up a campaign type pin-on button that said, "If God had wanted us to go around nude, HE would NOT have invented clothing". Most people would read it, start to comment and walk away. Some would say, "but God didn't invent clothing". I would reply, "Yes, I know". -

I have never had a problem with a Christian who quotes Christ. Most of my problems with Christians come from people who claim to be Christian but only quote the "Old Testament". Next time a Christian annoys you, ask them to quote the Beatitudes. THE EIGHT BEATITUDES OF JESUS "Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are they who mourn, for they shall be comforted. Blessed are the meek, for they shall inherit the earth. Blessed are they who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be satisfied. Blessed are the merciful, for they shall obtain mercy. Blessed are the pure of heart, for they shall see God. Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called children of God. Blessed are they who are persecuted for the sake of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven." Gospel of Matthew 5:3-10 -

I told "gonnabethin" earlier in this thread: "No Flames from Me." and then I suggestion to watch "Goldwater on Goldwater". It is a documentary on HBO. It is a story told by his grand-daughter who was 5 years old when Barry Goldwater was running for president. Today's Republicans, by and large are not conservatives. Barry Goldwater was a conservative. I would have voted for Barry Goldwater for president in 1964, but then the voting age was 21 and I was 6 months too young. Hillary Clinton was one of the "Goldwater Girls", a type of cheerleader for the Arizona Senator. I have change politically from what I was in 1964. But what is now being passed of as conservativism has changed much more since '64 than my philosophy has. I I told "gonnabethin" that there would be no flames from me and I am sticking to that. "Gonnabethin" sounds much more like Barry Goldwater than BuSh or Cheney. Barry Goldwater said that the conservatives of a few generations down the road will probably reclassify him as a liberal. Well not quite, but... See "Mr. Conservative: Goldwater on Goldwater". -

ADULT DISCUSSION TO FOLLOW – READ AT YOUR OWN RISK Let me explain why blonds are made the butt of jokes and yet simultaneously are treated better than women with other hair colors. Grown Men are Stupid Grown Men still think like children. In fact one of my pet sayings is, "Men are just male children with large bodies". I do not think that I am a spectacular bedroom performer, but I would venture to say that no man can enjoy sex as much as a women can. Well at least most of the women I know. No matter how a man is genitally stimulated, by orifice penetration, manually or orally, he is limited to (at best) a handful of orgasms in one night. I have heard of 7 in one night, but 3 or 4 is more like the limit for even great performers and 2 orgasms puts a male in a high class. One male orgasm if delayed for a while is about all most women can hope for. On the other hand, a women once confided that she had her greatest night with a man who helped her achieve 58 orgasms. Many women are able to have multiple orgasm while oral sex is being performed on them and then more orgasms while engaging in vaginal intercourse. If the man is spurred on, he can rejuvenate while performing another round of oral sex on the women, hopefully bringer her to more multiple orgasms climaxing in a final burst that leaves her helpless, but ready for the rejuvenated man to slay her with multiple vaginal penetration orgasms. By repeated this another round or two, the man can rest while performing oral sex and then perform vaginal intercourse until orgasm, maybe 3 or 4 times that evening. If the women performs oral sex on the man, he is finished for the night quite abruptly. The point of all this is to show that many women can enjoy 30-40-50 orgasms in a night while their male partner might have 4. So who enjoys sex more? Men or women? It is obvious that women enjoy sex more. But men enjoy thinking about it more and men enjoy anticipating sex more. The male is satisfied when he succeeds in getting the women into the sack. Men still think they need to trick women into having sex. They still believe what they were lead to believe while children, that girls are afraid of sex and/or good girls don't do those things. Why else would a man try to get a perspective romantic encounter drunk? If she is drunk, her sensations will be numbed and she is less likely to respond vigorously in bed. Now since men KNOW BLONDES ARE STUPID and since MEN KNOW WOMEN MUST BE FOOLED to get them in bed, of course men will treat blonds better. The nicer treatment is part of the kissing up routine, until they can fool them, have their couple of orgasms and move on to the next dumb woman. Of course if he gets lucky and she responds by having a slew of orgasms, he will assume that HE is a great lover and hang around for a while longer, though he will soon be hunting the next dummy de jour. He will eventually leave the women for another and tell his male friends jokes about "that blond was so dumb, she actually fell for that line..." He will never stop and think, "she had 25 orgasms and I had 2, so why did I have to trick her?" He can't admit to himself that she wanted to go to his bed as much (or more) as he wanted it. Because, then it would not have been a conquest and also he would have nothing to validate his jokes about blonds. Please do not tell any men that you received this information from me. I am a man and have to live with them (no not that way). I am afraid if they find out about me they will revoke my male belly button, without which I will be barred from all fraternal meetings.

Prescription Drug prices are making retirement impossibly difficult for many senior citizens. Prescription Drug prices are making raising a family impossibly difficult for many parents. So who loves you? Wal-Mart and Target or your elected Unites States government? Yesterday, first Wal-Mart and then Target announced that they would cut generic Prescription Drug prices to under $5 for a monthly supply. Is this love by Wal-Mart and Target? Before you answer, let me give you some information. #1. It is not costing Wal-Mart and Target anything to do this. #2. The US government could have done it with Medicare's Rx Drug program, but specifically made it illegal to do so. Let me explain #1 first. I have a Prescription Drug plan as part of my retirement package from x-employer. I get Prescription Drugs at about 75% or more below retail in 3 month supplies by mail-order. It costs my x-employer just about nothing to give this benefit. WHY? Because, they buy Prescription Drug doses by the million or billion. They negotiate with each pharmaceutical company for reduced prices and pass them onto us. So when I order a three month supply of Celebrex, I am getting it for about the cost my x-employer paid for it. Now about #2. When a Medicare recipient gets a drug through the Medicare Rx drug plan and he pays 60% of the retail cost, he is paying 2 and half times as much as I would for the same Rx and you (and me), the tax-payers are paying the other 40%. The federal government screwed both the Medicare recipients and the tax-payers by putting a clause into the Medicare Rx law that states that the government can not negotiate Rx prices with the pharmaceutical companies. Now the government wants to reduce the already paltry Medicare Rx benefits because they are costing the government too much money. The reason Canada has inexpensive Rx drugs is the same reason that my Rx plan has low prices. Negotiate to purchase in quantity and resell at prices based on that low purchase price. It is also the same reason that Wal-Mart and Target are able to offer these low prices. So I guess there are only two conclusions to be reached. Either Wal-Mart and Target love you more than your government does or Wal-Mart and Target are smarter than your government. My conclusion: The government cares more about big business than about you.
