    How to put in Quotes

Do you want to see something that will blow your mind? "Right Click" in the middle of the white space of this post and then select "View Source" by "Left Clicking" on it. The page that will open will be the code (that makes up this thread) that your computer turns into what you actually see.

    How to put in Quotes

Note I am using < for [ and > for ] when I give instructions. Wheetsin used a space after her "[" as in "[(space)/quote]" But apparently you didn't delete the number, but deleted the </quote> at the end.

    Governor Perry-What a liar

In Florida, my wife and I and 5 other members from our church group stood on a main street as it goes over a bridge with signs during Friday's "rush hour". We had one man dressed in a suit and tie, wearing a BuSh mask and holding up a sign "I will work for Billionaires", another member with a 6 foot by 5 foot American Flag that had the "Peace Sign" where the Stars would be, and the rest of us holding signs with the names of the Democratic Candidate who will take Mark Foley's seat in congress (we live in his district) and other local Democratic candidates. During the 2 hours we were out there we had hundreds of people blowing their horns as they drove by or giving us the thumbs up or yellow "take back America", and two who yelled "F__k You". My hope is that we get the same ratio at the polls.

One thing that must be understood about the Republican party is that part of their agenda is the dismantling of Social Security and Medicare. They pretend to want to improve them, because the voters would not allow the destruction of the two popular programs at this time, but by giving an Rx program that can not be paid for, they have undermined Medicare and if they ever get private accounts, that will be the first step towards the end of SS.

George Bush: Worst American president in history

I don't know what can be done. To advocate the violent overthrow of the government can be seen as treason, though many think that the 2nd amendment to the constitution was referring to stopping the oppression of the people by the government. We would need a Martin Luther King Jr./Mahatma Gandhi type figure to lead us. Violence, however is so ingrained in the nature of the people of the USA, that I doubt even both Martin Luther King Jr. and Mahatma Gandhi could contain the violence. Unless Jesus Christ, himself came down to mediate the conflict, the people who believe that the Republican's victory was their “God given right” will slaughter any non-violent protester, while Rush, Sean and Billy O', slant the FOX news reports to show the triumph of the "True Americans" in the"Traditional American" style.

George Bush: Worst American president in history

I asked some people: What happens if the Monday November 6 polling (last day before the election) shows the Democrats picking up 25 house seats and 6 Senate seats, thereby capturing both Houses of Congress and the "Exit Polling" shows the Democrats doing even better, but the election returns show that the Republicans gained 15 house seats and 3 Senate seats? "Rebellion" and "Revolt" were the answers screamed out by most. I replied, "But, the conservatives have all the guns." :faint:

    Governor Perry-What a liar

Well living in Florida, I didn't think I was needed to defend the Governor of Texas, but I was under the impression that both houses of the Texas legislature have Republican majorities. So you are right, Governor Perry can't take all the blame. The blame should be shared by: The Republican controlled House of Representatives The Republican controlled Senate And Governor Perry Vote against all of them.

George Bush: Worst American president in history

Did anyone watch Hacking Democracy on HBO? Did anyone know that one county in Florida gave Al Gore Minus 16,022 votes in the 2000 presidential election? Yes, you read that correctly: MINUS 16,022 VOTES. :faint: If you can take a real horror movie, please check out this documentary.
  15. The conservatives have used marrying animals as "What's next after gay marriage?" to scare off the masses and to mock the situation. The constitution says that all men are created equal (preamble) and the 14th amendment says equal justice under the law for all persons. They were referring to humans, though when the constitition was originally written, man many times meant white males who own property. The law needs to be rewritten to separate a union of two people and a marriage under a religious body. All people who are married under a religious body shall me deemed to be in a qualified union as all those who are joined by a non-religious body (government, for instance).
  16. Here are some countries that would fit that description: Afaganistan, Albania, Algeria, Bahrain, Bangladesh Cameroon Central African Republic, Chad, Dahomey, Egypt, Ethiopia, Gambia, Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, Indonesia, Iran, Iraq, Ivory Coast, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Libya, Malaysia, Maldive Islands, Mali, Mauritania, Morocco, Niger, Nigeria, Oman, Pakistan, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Senegal, Sierra Leone, Somalia, South Yemen, Sudan, Syria, Tanzania, Togo, Tunisia, Turkey, U.A.E, Upper Volta and North Yemen. The people from these countries tend to pray much more than the people of the USA. Their laws are based on the word of God to a much larger extent that the laws of the USA and they worship the same God as the vast majority of the people of the USA. Can I book a ticket for you?

No, it is what is written in the Bible of today, that was translated from a different language by people who thought that the world was flat and that the the continents of Europe, Asia and Africa made up the whole world. No one knows what the original Bible said, nor what the original Bible meant. Many people with political agendas and motivations to keep power have caused the Bible to be rewritten and modified over the years.
  18. Carol, may I make a suggestion? When you answer other people, like you did a few posts above, could you say who you are talking to, or quote the question? If you don't know how to quote or Copy & Paste, I would be more than happy to explain it to you. TOM = T.O.M. = T_O_M = Tired_Old_Man
  19. I am only teasing. I am not offended. The only thing you can call me that will offend me is "LATE FOR DINNER". :faint:
  20. "IN GOD WE TRUST" does not belong on our money and "ONE NATION UNDER GOD" was added while I went to grade school; I remember coming into school one day and someone had inked in the words on the poster we (were forced) to recite each day. "ONE NATION UNDER GOD" is not in the national anthem, it is in the pledge of allegiance to a piece of cloth used as a implement of war. Yes, the reason for flags was so that the people killing each other knew which side they were on. The national anthem, a poor excuse for a war song does not contain "ONE NATION UNDER GOD". Maybe one reason that the USA has bombed more countries than all the other countries of the combined since 1945 and spends more money each year on its military than all the other countries of the world combined is that we start training our children to accept and expect war with pledges to a war implement and songs glorifying war as soon as they enter pre-k. I have faith that my beliefs are true also. My beliefs are the opposite of yours. What can we do? How about both of us minding our business and letting people who are in love get married. If you don't believe in same gender marriage, don't marry a man. But you have no right to force people who want to marry, not to marry. And no one has attacked Carol. Carol has said conflicting things about the Old Testament and New Testament. She was told that there were conflicts in what she had said. No one insulted her. Some people say they are not Biblical scholars, but they follow the word of God. How do they know they are following the word of God, if they do not know the Bible?
  21. Sorry Betsyjane thought TOM meant time of the month. Don't apologize to BetsyJane; apologize to me. :faint:
  22. It is not necessary to expand the definition of marriage to include same gender marriage. If it was, the Republicans would not be pushing for a constitutional amendment to ban same-gender marriage. Unless you think Republicans including BuSh are stupid, then you will have to realize that they know it is legal for same-gender couples to marry as per the 14th amendment to the US constitution. They can not have it both ways. You don't pass constitutional amendments to outlaw something that is already outlawed. What they call activist judges, others see as "judges who can read".

I'm glad I don't live in Texas anymore

It is their choice to go to the private school after the have paid for the public schools. Are you talking about the welfare for the poor that was gutted in the 1990's or the welfare for the rich that is the deficit interest paid to people who buy treasury bills? If you think that people should be given back their tax money for programs they don't use; fine, I want by tax money back for the star-wars antimissile shield and for my share of the money wasted invading Iraq and rebuilding Iraq over and over.

It sounds to me that there will never be an antichrist. An Italian Jew who was born in Syria. That is a mighty hard combo to find.
