Semite: 1.a member of any of various ancient and modern peoples originating in southwestern Asia, including the Akkadians, Canaanites, Phoenicians, Hebrews, and Arabs. 2.a Jew. 3.a member of any of the peoples descended from Shem, the eldest son of Noah. Therefore: Anti-semitism would be discrimination or inapropriate actions against a Semite which could just as easily be an Arab or Muslim as a Jew.

The Biblical Case for Pro-Choice & Stem Cell Research

The external forces where the feedback of survival or death that all living beings (plant, animal, microbe) face from nature. There is more than one kind of scientific proof. It would be impossible to make 2 more Earths, and use one for a standard and then subject the other one to varying tests over a billion years. When you take 1000 smokers and 1000 non-smokers, not every smoker will get cancer and not every non-smoker will be cancer free, but if the smokers have 10 times the rate of cancer than the non-smokers, that is a scientific prof. Scientists have only been able to change the species of organisms which have extremely short life-spans, since evolution takes place at a very slow pace. If you have a petri dish full of microbes, lets call them species type A10001 and every one of them have a series of biological traits, one of which is dying in the presence of chemical J above 1 pert per million of petri dish chemicals and if you split the type A10001 microbes into 2 separate petri dishes and administer chemical J in doses of 1 part per billion over a 4 or 5 generation span to the species type A10001, and then over the next 100 generations you increase the chemical J doses, and one day you wind up with a species that not only doesn't die in the presence of chemical J above 1 part per million of petri dish chemicals, but in fact thrives in the presence of chemical J above 1 part per million or even 10 or 100 parts, you have created a new species which may then be called microbial species type A10002 or species type A10001a or A10001b. -

Many years ago, I watched a TV show (National Geographic, I think) which was discussing sea creatures and how some were related although they looked and acted totally differently. Many years later, after the discover of DNA, it was proven that the statements regarding their relationships were correct. Order doesn't come from disorder unless there are external stimuli or forces present. There are and were many external stimuli and forces present during evolution. -
None of those countries were melting pots as the USA is supposed to be. None of those countries have a sign that says, "Give me your tired, your poor, Your huddled masses yearning to breath free. The wretched refuse of your teeming shore. Send these, the homeless, tempest-tost to me. I lift my lamp beside the golden door!" And that sign sits under a statue giving to us by the country that did more to help us win our revolution than any other country in the world: FRANCE!! None of those countries know the pride of being an American when a Chinese-American man wins the Olympic Gold Medal in tennis or a Japanese-American wins an international gold medal in Ice skating, nor knows the glory that it brings to the USA. We are not like any other country. We are the USA and we are the people of the world all rolled up in one big happy family. How did your ancestors get here?

The best comback line ever The police arrested Ward Branham, a 22-year-old white male, resident of Lethbridge, Alberta, in a pumpkin patch at 11:38 p.m., on Friday. Ward will be charged with lewd and lascivious behavior, public indecency, and public intoxication at the Calgary courthouse on Monday. The suspect explained that as he was passing a pumpkin patch he decided to stop."You know, a pumpkin is soft and squishy inside, and there was no one around there for miles. "At least I thought there wasn't," he stated in a phone interview. Ward went on to say that he pulled over to the side of the road, picked out a pumpkin that he felt was appropriate to his purposes, cut a hole in it, and proceeded to satisfy his alleged "need." "I guess I was just really into it, you know?" he commented with evident embarrassment. In the process, Ward apparently failed to notice a police car approaching and was unaware of his audience until Officer Brin Taylor (female) approached him. It was an unusuall situation, that's for sure," said Officer Taylor. "I walked up to Ward and he's just working away at this pumpkin." Taylor went on to describe what happened when SHE approached Ward. "I just went up and said, 'Excuse me sir, but do you realize that you are screwing a pumpkin?" Ward froze and was clearly very surprised that I was there, and then looked me straight in the face and said, 'A pumpkin? Damn, is it midnight already'?"

I hope mousecrazy doesn't get angry at me for saying this; But as an example, since mousecrazy and I never seem to agree on anything: If a person was tried for murder and there were two juries, one consisting of 12 TOM's and one consisting of 12 mousecrazy's, then the two juries would probably reach different verdicts which proves that guilt or innocence is less important than who is on the jury. How can we send some one to his death because of the jury that was selected to hear his case?

The problem with people like Rick Warren is that many people who call themselves Christian either do not read the Bible and take these minister's sermons and books as Gospel or when they hear a quote of a verse from the Bible explained in the minister's sermons or books, they assume that the minister's interpretation is the only possible interpretation. -

But then God also knew what was going to happen in Saddan and Gomarra, and what Adam and Eve ere going to do with that apple. Why did he create them to do it and then punish for doing it? Sounds like a pretty nasty God. OR Maybe God did give us Free-will and he didn't know what was going to happen. -

Let US Troops In Iraq Die, Army says
Tired_Old_Man replied to Tired_Old_Man's topic in Rants & Raves
I have heard troops on TV say that they want to be there to finish what they started, or to protect their brother (fellow Marine) or so that the 3000 will not have died in vain. But consider this. If you were in the mall with your 19 year old son and a 25 year old Arnold Schwarzenegger clone bumped into your son and said, "I am going to kick your butt", would allowing your son to fight him be supporting him? Even if your son got into a confrontation with another 19 year old of the same size, it would not be support (IMHO). Just because troops in Iraq have been brainwashed by either the military or the heroes they have seen in the movie, and they want to keep fighting in Iraq, does not mean you are not supporting them by making them come home. Since when do 20 year old kids get to decide US foreign policy? -

The biggest difference that I see between the "Conservative" South and the "Liberal" North regarding Race is that the New Yorkers tend to look around and lower their voice before saying certain words, but down here they aren't as careful. -

I did state the facts that I have seen and I assume you have stated facts that you have seen. In the company that I worked for, for 35 years, only married couples got benefits for the first 15 years I was there, then they included unmarried heterosexual couples and finally in the last 10 years of my employment, gay couples. It was a nationally known company and was based in Delaware, like may other large corporation are, because of tax benefits. -

I am having a lot of problem with the contradictory things I hear about "Free Will". In "Purpose Driving Life", Rick Warren says that God knew what my DNA would be before he created Adam, before he created Lucifer, the Angels, or Heaven and Earth. OK, so did my mother and father have free will? Later in the book, Reverend Warren says that God knows everything I am ever going to do or say and has known it from the beginning. Doesn't sound like I have much free will. While we were riding the elevator to my doctor's office in this large medical building, one of the nurses I know, asked me how I liked "Purpose Driving Life" which I carried around to read in order to help pass time in the waiting room, at that time and I said “I think it is stupid”. She said that she had liked it. I reminded her of the part where Reverend Warren says that God knows everything we are ever going to do or say and said, "If I tell you that you are stupid, don't blame it on me, blame it on God", since he knew I was going to say it thousands of years ago. No, I didn't call her stupid, but what happened to my free will? How will I earn my way into Heaven if everything was decided for me thousands of years ago? Whether or not I accept Jesus Christ as my personal Saviour was determined for me thousands of years ago. This approach to life makes God sound like a puppet master who owns 6 billion puppets, has written the script for each one of them and plays with all of them at the same time. He must be bored out of his mind, since he already knows how it ends. Yes, that makes him a mighty God, but it makes him a very bored God, too. Maybe God does not want to be bored and maybe he wants to be able to see a surprise ending and maybe we have free will, and Rick Warren is wrong. I think God is powerful enough to end boredom. Don't you? -

Do you have a Biblical Verse number? If God does give a soul to a fetus at conception, and since I doubt that God would be so cruel as to send the fetus to Hell based on the actions of its mother and abortion doctor, then an abortion is less risky for the soul than giving birth. I could guarantee my "child's" soul going to Heaven by aborting it as a fetus. Giving birth to it in this cruel world only gives it a 50-50 chance. -
Let US Troops In Iraq Die, Army says

On another forum that I post on, all of the members who "Support the Troops Unconditionally" and who do not want the Iraqi war to end without victory are against writing to congress and the president about this situation. Those unconditional supporters also say that those of us who want the troops out of Iraq and who think that no greater support can be given the troops than by helping to remove them from harm's way, are not supporting the troops. But we who want the troops out are writing the president and our congressional representatives. Please contact your elected Representatives: The President's E-mail is: comments@whitehouse.gov You can go to http://www.house.gov/ to find out your Representative's e-mail address or contact method. Did you notice the huge swing in the polls when the ads showing the white women (who was made to appear as if she might be nude) saying "call me Harold" were played on TV in the Tennessee Senate race? It is amazing how Harold Ford's numbers plummeted right after that ad came out, unless it was because of people changing their minds because of race. -

The stem cells may have matured into cells with dedicated jobs by that time. But I am not really sure. I respect your opinion, whether I agree or not, at least you are thinking rather than repeating dogma handed down by some person with a title. You asked if God knows the fetus before it is born. I do not know if he does, but if he does, he should also know that the fetus was going to be aborted or suffer a miscarriage, so why would he waste a soul on that fetus? I think God is way too intelligent to put souls into fetuses or embryos that will never mature to the point of taking a breath of air, so that is why my quote from Genesis made so much sense to me. I am sorry if it does not ring true to you. But I hope you will respect my opinion whether you disagree or agree. -

It only means that in this area, there is no shame in stating your ignorance or intolerance in public. There is no peer pressure to stop. And this is not the traditional South. When I was standing in line in Publix recently,a Black man was standing there reading the words on a tee-shirt worn by a young white male that said "Bring Back the Good Old Says" under a picture of a Dog up on its hind legs being restrained by a policeman in obvious reference to the civil rights marchers of the 1960's There is a tension in the air. I wonder what would have happened if the Black man had said something. I wonder if the Black man would have said something if he was not (racially) outnumbered, 50 to one in that store at that time. No, those shirts should not be censored or removed by the government, but should be shunned by the decent people. At the local mall, there was a kiosk selling the "Bring back the good old days" shirts with confederate flags and baiting comments. There needs to be peer pressure by good people. My wife has dragged me away from these people because she says that I am too old. She is right. But my age should not be the deciding factor. I should not be alone.
