To Bump you Up:clap2:

When I was in the hospital, a nurse, an aid and a doctor each put their gloves down on the the shelf below the mirror above the sink before washing their hands, then dried their hands and put on the gloves before attempting to touch me. I refused to allow them to touch me until they washed again and then took new gloves out of the box. I told each of them, that they may have been protecting themselves, but they sure were not protecting me.

One procedure I really want to have... (other than the band)

I had 2 dental implants put into my lower right quadrant last year. There is a 3 tooth crown across them. Insurance did not cover a penny, so it cost me almost $7,000, but well worth it. I had no teeth on the right lower side and big chucks of food were always going down my esophagus, cause me to jam up. That problem was solved thanks to the implants. I previously had 3 partials made, but due to an unusual saliva gland placement, they alway gave me problems, so I never wore them. -
I need Help to Help my wife with her Big 0's

When she got up this morning, Tina apologized for her outburst yesterday. I understand the pressure and though I am no one's whipping boy, I was there as needed to act as Tina's safety valve. Tina was upset because her sister who lives 20 minutes (by subway) from their mother's nursing home, has not been been to the nursing home all week. The mother was moved from the hospital last Monday and no on has looked in on her except the brother who lives in New Jersey, but works in Brooklyn. Tina's mother has 15 adult grandchildren/great grandchildren who live within a hour of the nursing home, yet Tina has to fly 1400 miles to take care of her mother. Tina doesn't resent going to Brooklyn, but she can't live there. She has been to Brooklyn twice so far this year and Wednesday will be the third time. Tina was so disgusted at her sister's excuses for not visiting, that she clammed up and would not speak to me, until the pressure built so high that she exploded (at me). -

Tina told me if I want to see her happy, then "stop wasting time on that computer". I guess the garden work and working on the car, paying some bills online and adjusting all the clocks and VCR's wasn't enough work for her today. :faint: See ya L8R!! -
Thank You.

My wife Tina has a hard time finding comfortable shoes. Before she buys something online, she would like to try buying some at a store even if it costs more so that she can learn what size she wears. Shoes sizes can be different from brand to brand. Does anyone know which chain stores carry DKNY athletic-inspired shoes?

There is a thing about discipline: Either you learn it or it beats you (Rhetorical "you", of course).

Do you really think that the lobster had implanted claws? Do you really think that the lobster is a female?

I always laugh at these generalized articles, because while they are generally correct, they are sometimes misleading. The airline I worked for had 747's and the highest row number was 58 in one configuration and 53 in another. We never had over 60 rows. Some airlines have 1st class upstairs and all coach on the main deck, so they have the most rows on the main deck. Some airlines have first class downstairs and with the bigger seats and more space between seats, they have less rows on the main deck, while some airlines have first class downstairs, followed by business class (or some other name for better than or more expensive than coach) which also has bigger seats with more space between seats, and therefor the least amount of rows.

While I was still working as an aircraft mechanic, they did a study on repositioning the passenger seats so that the seats face backward. This relocation would be more helpful in case of a crash than shoulder-lap belts, and would not add any weight nor cost any money as shoulder-lap belts would. The reversal of seat position could be accomplished at base overhaul when all the seats are removed to gain access to the guts and frame of a plane, and the seats would just be put back in backwards. However, a survey of passengers revealed that people did not want to ride backwards in a plane (go figure). Just before I left the industry (right after and because of 911), there was a multi-billion dollar upgrade of the entire US commercial aircraft fleet for nothing. Sam Donaldson of WABC news got a bug up his butt and broadcast a show as part of the Prime Time Live series about fires in the cargo compartment and although only one plane in US aviation history had a fatal crash because of cargo compartment fires, the constant bombardment of the public by replaying the Prime Time episode 3 times was enough to bring pressure on the FAA for it to order the retrofit of all planes. The only plane that did have a fatal crash, was the Valujet plane that was illegally transporting oxygen generators. Oh, by the way, the modification that was ordered and implemented by the aviation industry would not have prevented the Valujet crash (I will supply details if anyone wants).

With safety rates already so high, how many lives would it save to have shoulder harnesses and for how much more money? Most people do not die in the impact, but in the fire, so we could install sprinklers, but then the plane would weigh so much that a 747 could only carry 200 people (instead of 450) and each seat would cost $1000, so no one could afford to fly and more people would die driving to their destination (especially from the USA to Europe).

Different schools have different rules. Some universities have strict attendance rules, some do not care how many times you are absent as long as you pass your exams, and some leave it up to the individual professor. I found that when I went to school, that in the engineering, science and math classes, they didn't care how often you missed class as long as you got your labs in, were there for all the exams and passed your final. But in the Liberal Arts classes, attendance was held against a student. I agree that a person of you age, and situation could be given some latitude, especially when you are still at Dean's list GPA's even with the problems you face. You are a credit to your family and I, if your professor would give you more leeway than a 20 year old who's biggest problem is which party to attend that weekend. Life is about judgment.

I agree. However, it is for the Christian Right Political Movement to judge whether Newt has attoned and whether it is right to vote for him.

When teachers make courses so difficult that the average is below passing, either the students don't belong there or the professor doesn't. Marking on the curve has some merit, but is not a valid example for future employment.

Osama bin Laden celebrated his 50th Birthday today. He should never have made 45 and wouldn't have if someone knew where to send our Military and how many to send.

I hope you are right about the season, though it never had this effect before. Walks are out. I need two artificial knees and Tina has arthritis of the hip. We listen to our "Oldies" from the 60's quite often. For Valentine's day, we both got each other (without the other's knowledge) those musical flowers/toys that play a song when you press a button. Every time I pass mine, I hit it as does Tina to hers. -

It has been about 7 years now. She will be 90 this year. I pray for a treatment and/or vaccine for this scurge. -
Look into the LBT section on Cosmetic and Reconstructive Surgery .

She says what she means except when it comes to holding in pain, then her British (born in London) upbringing of "keeping a stiff upper lip" comes in to play. We were watching "Crash" last night (for the third time) and we both started crying when the Persian store owner tried to shoot the locksmith, but the locksmith's 5 year old daughter jumped in the way to protect her father. We both wound up hugging and crying together, and Tina seems to be better today. I guess the showing of love between family members (in the movie) resonated with both of us and made our little family (the two of us) feel more appreciated. I didn't plan it, but I knew that scene always gets to us and sometimes crying can wash away resistance to intimacy. I hope the good cry can have some lasting value, if only for a few days. -

Actually, I taught Tina to cook when we first married. She was the baby of 5 sibling and the Tom-Boy (maybe that's why she married me?) of the two sisters. Her older sister learned how to cook, but Tina never did. I used to kid her that she could burn Water, but it saved us money on coffee. PS: She is a very good cook now. Why do you think I needed a Lap-Band?
