Homosexual Liberal Atheists ~ What's UP with that?
Tired_Old_Man replied to paladin's topic in Rants & Raves
If you mean the political correctness of minding your own business about what goes on in my home, yes the Christians should learn to be politically correct. The US Constitution gives all citizens equal rights. If TOM loves Tina and If Tina loves TOM and they are at least 18, TOM & Tina can marry. If Tim loves Harry and If Harry loves Tim and they are at least 18, Tim & Harry can not marry. If Susan loves Betty and If Betty loves Susan and they are at least 18, Betty & Susan can not marry. Therefor Tim and Harry, and Betty and Susan are not equal to TOM and Tina as the US Constitution guarantees. It does not matter what the Bible says or how Christians feel about it. And BuSh and the Republicans know it. That's why they are trying to pass a Constitutional amendment against same-gender marriage. -
I am not suggesting that the US government should bring the whole 29,000,000 Iraqi population here to the USA, but just the people who risked their lives to give the unwinnable Iraqi war a little more of a chance at success. The BuSh administration and its defenders, who claim we need to stay in Iraq or else we will be giving the Muslim/Arab world a signal that the USA does not stick by its friends and commitments is now proving to the Muslim/Arab world that the USA does not stick by its friends and commitments as it deserts the Iraqis who have done the most and risked their lives the most to help the USA succeed in this foolish mission. After all the excuses about WMD, 911, etc had been proved false, BuSh fell back on, "We did it (the invasion of Iraq) for the Iraqi people". Well, the US government has shown their true feelings for the Iraqi people (with this issue as proof). BuSh and the US government claimed that they loved the Iraqi people so much that they are willing to send thousands of US servicemen to their death, but are now saying that we care so little about the Iraqi people that we will abandon the ones who did the most for us (and their families) to die. Mixed message? Or is it that the first part about sending and sacrificing US troops for the Iraqi people is just plain BS? We sent them there because BuSh is a bully who thought he could settle some old grievances and show-up his father by taking out Saddam Hussein who was serving an important purpose, the purpose he has served for the USA for over 20 years; keeping his country, Iran and the Middle-East stable. We are now on the verge of WWlll thanks to the lack of understanding of the Sunni-Shiite divide by the Neo-Cons. Events in Serbia and Bosnia were the trip point for WW1. After the area was stabilized for decades under brutal rule, the rulers of Yugoslavia let go of their brutal grip with the demise of the Soviet Union and the 3 main ethnic groups of Yugoslavia went back to fighting WW1 all over again and there was blood in the streets as ethnic cleansing became the order of the day. If BuSh and the Neo-Cons had known the history of Shiite-Sunni relations and if they had the intelligence to draw a parallel to the events in Yugoslavia or if they could read books, they would have foreseen the events now transpiring in Iraq and the Middle-East. No, it is not that I am idealistic, it is that the US Government has neither honor nor brains, at least not with the present leadership.

ADULTS ONLY PLEASE WARNING ABOUT RED LOBSTER RESTAURANTS This is important and worth the time to read! Warning!!Be careful if you eat at "RED LOBSTER RESTAURANTS." A young woman was having a meal at the restaurant and suddenly began to experience intense chest pains. Nothing her friends or the restaurant personnel did would relieve the pain. "911" was called and an ambulance was sent and the woman was transported to a nearby hospital where doctors removed the women's blouse. As soon as this was done, emergency room personnel were able to properly diagnosis the cause of the pain:

A way of moving a thread back to the top of the thread list. In order to stop people from bumping constantly, the management at LBT has put a minumum letter count per post, so writing "Bump" will be rejected. I do not normally Bump, but this thread was important imformation, IMHO, so I did.

Tired_Old_Man replied to paladin's topic in Rants & Raves
I think the thread starter wanted to see the Liberals, atheists and Gays losing their cool and flaming him so that he could feel superior to them (us). He was wrong. The majority of Liberals, atheists and Gays, and of Conservative, Christians, Jews, Catholics, Muslims, straights and Bisexuals at LBT are too level headed to fall for a ploy like that IMNSHO. He wanted us to flame, but he gave us a chance to shine. -
Opinions: My bi-polar sister wants to have my baby.
Tired_Old_Man replied to Poodles's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
It is amazing how many walls a little baby can breadk down. It is hard to hate a 7 pound bundle of joy. -
Liberal atheists can have them for $50 a piece. Conservative Christians can't give them away.:faint:

Thank You. I am just trying to get people to use their God given brain to think and I know it makes for passionate conversation, which IMHO sure beats silent ignorance. -

When someone starts boycotting money because it doesn't have "In God We Trust" on it, that is making a religious statement and it is more that showing that they are not ashamed to stand up for what they believe in. It is destroying the commerce of the country in order to get their way. What are they saying that they are standing up for? That they believe in God? They can carry a Bible or wear a crucifix to stand up for that.

I am just wondering, What happened to Jesus during the missing thirty years? Did he get married as some claim? If he didn't get married, Was it because he was Gay? The Gospels say nothing about this time period. Was God a Conservative War Lord? Was Jesus a Liberal Peace-Maker? Questions. So many questions. -

This week, the police in my home town, have been stopping women on the street to warn them about three big mistakes that the women are making, which are leaving them open to criminal activity. #1. When purchasing gas at self-service gas stations, many women leave their pocketbooks on the seat of their cars, leave their car doors unlocked and take the $20 or $30 into the convenience store section to pay. When they come back to their car, their purse or its contents are missing. Because the thieves take the contents, but leave the pocketbook, many women do not know their credit cards and driver's license are missing for hours or days. #2. Many women walk between their cars and the stores in the mall (or strip mall) holding the pocketbook by the long strap. A purse-snatcher can easily grab the pocketbook and the strap will break right off. #3. (And this is the worst) Many women, put their pocketbook into the top section of their shopping cart (and leave it open quite often) and then turn their back on their shopping cart while reaching for products on the shelves. Some women comparison shop with their back turned from their cart and wide open pocketbook. Some walk 5 or 10 feet away from their carts. Thieves will very seldom take the pocketbook, but will reach in and take the purse or wallet with the money, credit cards, driver's license and other personal data. It is not until checkout time, which in a Super-Wal-Mart could be an hour or more later, that the unsuspecting women finds out the awful truth; “I've been robbed”.

Some famous person once said, "You can't be too skinny or too rich", but some people think that could be expanded to "You can't be too skinny, too rich or have breasts too big or with too much Lift". I don't know who would say that, but...

George Bush: Worst American president in history
Tired_Old_Man replied to Sunta's topic in Rants & Raves
http://www.newstatesman.com/200703120024 From the Linked article: America won't simply be paying with its dead. The Pentagon is trying to silence economists who predict that several decades of care for the wounded will amount to an unbelievable $2.5 trillion... ...It is sobering to think how the money going down the drain in Iraq could otherwise have been spent. "For this amount of money, we could have provided health insurance for the uninsured of this country," Bilmes tells me. "We could have made social security solvent for the next three generations, and implemented all the 9/11 Commission's recommendations [to tighten domestic security]." That kind of list goes on: the annual cost of treating all heart disease and diabetes in the United States would amount to a quarter of what the Iraq war is costing. Pre-school for every child in America would take just $35bn a year. __________________ Questions that need to be asked: Will the "Support Our Troops" crowd be there with the money for the mentally ill Vets? Will the "Support Our Troops" crowd still support the Iraq Vets who commit crimes like murder at 5 or 6 times the national level? Will the "Support Our Troops" crowd still support the Iraq Vets who are involved with spousal abuse at many times the national average? Will the "Support Our Troops" crowd still support the Iraq Vets when they are homeless and try to pan-handle money from the public? Will the "Support Our Troops" crowd still support the Iraq Vets with tax-funded alcohol and drug rehab centers? Will the "Support Our Troops" crowd still support the Iraq Vets with tax-funded prisons to incarcerate them and then preach about "Personal Responsibility"? These are Questions that need to be asked, even though we know the answers. We know the answers because we have seen the support for Vietnam vets. "Born on the 4th of July" should be required viewing for the "Support our Troops" crowd. I support our troops; by trying to bring them home where they belong. The "Support Our Troops" crowd in reality are the "Support our Stupid Wars" crowd, who never saw a war they couldn't support. They might also be called the "Let the mighty USA beat up small countries" crowd, because as cowards, they like to watch the blood and gore as the civilians of small nations are bombed, killed and maimed. It is the "Support Our Troops" crowd's version of wrestling. -

I wonder if the thread starter is suffering because he got intelligent responses instead of flaming posts?:sleep -
Here's a riddle for the true intellectual. Try to come up with the answer on your own. The answer is at the end for those who are unable to think this one through: Riddle At the exact same time, there are two 35-year-old men on opposite sides of the earth: One is walking a tight rope between two skyscrapers. The other is getting 'oral pleasure' from an 85-year-old toothless woman. They are both thinking the exact same thing. What are they both thinking? * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * Don't look down

The fact is this whole thing is cyclical, and the scientists who are not on the payroll of the government to do these studies are saying the jury's still out -- there's no such evidence there? Not on the payroll of the US Government, but on the payroll of Oil and coal companies, and oil and coal lobbying groups!! Or did you forget to mention that Reverend?

But that is a one way street. If people who don't think that "In God We Trust" belongs on US currency and boycotted money with "In God We Trust" on it, they would be "left out of the game". How would people feel if "Satan is King" was placed on all US Currency? Would the Christians and Muslims boycott the money? How would they eat, buy clothing and conduct normal business? This is just another example of people only respecting their own beliefs, but not those of other people. Money does not need to make a religious statement.

I need Help to Help my wife with her Big 0's

Thank you. Tina is too, but she would have my head if I posted a picture of her. She doesn't believe in this "internet forum foolishness".:faint: -
The reason is that the lifespan of a coin is many times greater than that of paper money, so it is a cost efficiency situation. I just hope that dollars and quarters are not easily confused like the last time. I haven't seen the new dollar coins yet personally.

Some planes did have lounges with card tables were people sat facing each other, and some planes had lounges where there was no table, but people sat facing each other . Some Lockheed L1011's had seats that rotated 360 degrees in first class so that people could converse or play cards with the people in the row behind them. There may have been other instances that I am unaware of. Trains and buses have on occasion had seats either facing inboard or both to the front and alternately to the rear.

The Husband Store A brand new store has just opened in New York City that sells husbands. When women go to choose a husband, they have to follow the instructions at the entrance:- "You may visit this store ONLY ONCE! There are 6 floors and the value of the products increase as you ascend the flights. You may choose any item from a particular floor, or may choose to go up to the next floor, but you CANNOT go back down except to exit the building" So, a woman goes to the Husband Store to find a husband. On the 1st floor the sign on the door reads: Floor 1 - These men have jobs. The 2nd floor sign reads: Floor 2 - These men have jobs and love kids. The 3rd floor sign reads: Floor 3 - These men have jobs, love kids, and are extremely good looking. "Wow," she thinks, but feels compelled to keep going. She goes to the 4th floor and the sign reads: Floor 4 - These men have jobs, love kids, are drop-dead good-looking and help with housework. "Oh, mercy me!" she exclaims, "I can hardly stand it!" Still, she goes to the 5th floor and sign reads: Floor 5 - These men have jobs, love kids, are drop-dead gorgeous, help with housework and have a strong romantic streak. She is so tempted to stay, but she goes to the 6th floor and the sign reads: Floor 6 - You are visitor 31,456,012 to this floor. There are no men on this floor. This floor exists solely as proof that women are impossible to please. Thank you for shopping at the Husband Store. * To avoid gender bias charges, the store's owner opens a New Wives store just across the street. The 1st floor has wives that love sex. The 2nd floor has wives that love sex and have money. The 3rd - 6th floors have never been visited.
