  1. Happy 35th Birthday super_chili!

  2. Sorry I haven't responded. I hardly get on to this site... I am doing well. I have lost about 35 lbs since surgery (not counting pre-op loss).

I had to have my gall bladder removed and ended up having serious complications that almost resulted in the removal of my band. I had to have it drained for almost a month and so that certainly slowed things down a bit.

I had a fill on Wednesday and am doing my 2day liquid 2day puree post fill diet (do you do those?). I can't wait to actually try to some real food and feel the restriction working again.

How 'bout an update on you? :)

  3. Hi There

I did have my surgery local in seattle at Virginia Mason hospital Dr. Hunter they are great. It is nice to meet someone local. I have only lost 11pounds since surgery but I feel great.. I am working out alot and so I am sure that has helped with my energy levels How are you doing?

  4. If there is anyone out there unsure of getting the band or has questions Dr. White is wonderful. I was so unsure of getting in an met her over a year before my surgery. She never pushed...When I was ready I went to her and she is AMAZING. So kind and caring and always willing to help during the ups and downs. I was banded 04/03/09 and have been doing great. The office staff is so caring and happy to see you and the progress you've made. I highly recommend Dr. White and her staff to anyone considering lap band surgery in the Northwest!!
  5. Hi there. I live in Everett, WA and had my band put in 04/03/09. Did you have your surgery done around here and how are you doing? It is nice to have this site to see how others are doing and that people are going through the same things we are. :)

I was banded on 04/03 and had dermabond (glue) used instead of staples for my incision sites. I used some surgical tape remover yesterday and it seemed to get some of the 'gunk' off. But now my abdomen is itchy as all get-out. I took a shower and figure it just may be healing... Anyone have any suggestions? Thanks!!!

Long time no post for me. I am so happy to report that I was banded on 04/03 and all is going well. :hurray: The surgery was fine and I went home the same day. There was some nausea, but it went away if I layed down and I didn't even have to take the nause meds when I went home. There was only a bit of pain associated with the port site. I was taking my pain meds for 3-4 days (mostly to help sleep) and then I was done. I was able to drive and my doctor was so happy to see me 1 week post op and I was doing GREAT. Mainly my only issues are sleeping (still) because twisting hurts and wakes me up, but I am learning to sleep until the port heals completely. I also had hernia repair during the surgery, which I have had no problems with. I am so happy not to have the daily pain where my hernia was. I was given the clearance at my 1 wk post op to have pureed food. I have been eating egg salad (happy easter) and many of my favorite soups. I went back to work yesterday and did okay for the morning, but by the afternoon I was so tired I had to leave at about 2pm to go home to take a nap. My doc says she isn't going to fill the band for six weeks to make sure I heal right and informed me that I will be hungry, but it will be okay. I CAN DO THIS! Reading everyone's posts has been so encouraging and it doesn't seem real that that band is there. I can't wait to see more results. I was on a two week protien shake diet before my surgery and now at 1.5 weeks post op I am down about 20 pounds. It is so amazing.... Thanks to all of you for being supportive! ~T

Hi there. New to site, but band scheduled for 04/03... On liquid diet since 03/20 and hangin' in there. Excited, but scared all at the same time. Great to have others here to lean on!
  9. Hi there. I am also schedule for surgery April 2nd. I am on a protein shake diet with only 2 cups of vegis allowed. I started 03/20 and am hangin' in there, but oh what I wouldn't give for a piece of cheese or something. Please tell me someone else out there is going through this and it can be done!!

    Pre-Op Diet?

Hi there. I am new, but scheduled for my band on 04/03. I am on day 7 of my pre-op liquid diet. 100 calories, protein shakes and 2 cups of vegis only. I am hangin' in there. It is nice to see others are doing it. It gives me hope!
