    Weight loss slow-down

Honey you are not going to lose 10lbs a week. You should be so excited about the 21 lbs you have lost. How long would it have taken you to lose 21lbs without the band. I think you need to relax and adjust to your new lifestyle. Also, because you are so newly banded you dont want to be crazy at the gym but try walking a little more each day! Best of luck to you!
  3. 1st visit was on 10/10/08 and i was banded 2/4/08 so a few months for sure!
  4. Curefortheend my question is this.......it shows your highest weight at 330+ and current weight at 210. How did you lose over a 100lbs the first time? I am assuming eating well and exercise which is what is required for the band. It is just a great tool to help you continue on the same lines that it seems like you were headed on. Also, do you have comorbidities because I would not have qualified at 210.
  5. It was because I had heartburn and similiar issues for all of those years that I was approved for surgery! Relax and hang in there!
  6. Go with liquids, let the irritation in your band go down! I would give it atleast one full day!

    Smoking after Lap Band

That is the same, i quit 4 months before surgery and then started again about 3 months after being banded. I know very dumb thing to do but I did and regret it everyday. I also LOVE to smoke during certain things, such as driving or being out with friends. I plan to stop on January 10th (or atleast attempt to) but we will see how it goes. Like you said one step at a time! bst of luck to you!

    Craving Sweets Help

If I am craving something sweet, I buy a bag of chocolate chips and eat one at a time until the craving is gone. I know it sounds stupid but when I eat a handful and put my hands to my mouth 15 different times(I eat one chip at a time) I really feel like I am REALLY treating myself and its usually about a 120 calories....craving gone:)
  9. I stayed and THANK GOD I did! My experience was much like yours!

    Gurgling noise??

Haha you are like the gazillionth person to ask this question. (myself included)! My doc says its normal and because so many other people have questions about it I am assuming we are not the only ones! :smile2:

    Questions...

I was the last surgery of the day. I had my surgery at 4pm on a Wednesday and got out of the hospital at 2pm the next day. I was on a 10lb restriction for 6 weeks

    Question about Port?

I can both see and feel my port. However, there is a lower profile port that they can put in so it is less visible to the eye.

    Stay at Hosptial?

I had to stay overnight and I couldn't have imagined comming home that day. I was so sick it was ridiculous, I needed help out of bed, to the bathroom or just to roll over. I think I had a really bad experience compared to most others though.

    Before or after

I opt for both before and after. Small amount of protein before and small amount after. I would say about 100 calories total between the two.
  15. It is VERY normal. It is the hell period before your first fill. It was almost 8 weeks before I had my first fill. This surgery isn't an overnight fix it. It takes time and patience as frustrating as it may be. Hang in there.
  16. Your still down 80lbs girl. I would say you are still WELL IN THE GAME!
  17. I think it is a total guessing game with insurance everytime. However, i have BCBS of ND and they required that I had a BMI of 40 for atleast 2 years.

    Ouch :-(

Wow, I have had like 6 fills and I only have 7.5 cc in my band. This was your first fill?
  19. Soup is going to pass right through the band if it is not thick so I would try to limit yourself to a cup of soup.
  20. I would also try getting in another day of exercise a week. I know that with a busy schedule it doesnt always seem possible but if you can try going early in the AM before work. I go at 5am and it really helps boost my metabolism for the day.
  21. Sluggo I thought the SAME thing for about a week after surgery. I thought oh $hit what did I do to myself! However, each day gets a little easier and the first time you weigh at the doctor and 10lbs drops off you will know what you did to yourself and why you did it! Oh and you can buckle up Buddy because it will throw you on an emotional roller coaster and some of it will truely be the best ride you have ever been on. Emotions can be good and bad but I can tell you that my emotional overload has been on the great end of the spectrum since surgery! Good luck to you!
  22. You are only on Day 4, you need to relax and give your body time to adjust. Food will not repel you in a few days and you will be in bandster hell and wish nothing looked good to you! hahah once you make it through those two phases its really not as bad as you think it is right now. The results will outweigh the bad x100!
  23. Everyday is trial and error for me as well. Sometimes even water won't stay down and other days I can eat ANYTHING!
