Hit a plateau for months now.... arggg
Teacher07 replied to hersheymalone's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Do the 5 day pouch test,(google it) I was at a plateau for months and that was an easy jump start for me~ -
Need to get back in the swing of things.
Teacher07 replied to hopeful60's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
The same thing happened to me. I was banded in February and did so well until about july and then it all went down hill. Well, kind of, I gained about 5lbs back but it was like I was STUCK majorly and didnt know how to get back in the grove. So I tried the 5 day pouch test (google it) and it really helped me to get that pouch feeling back and kickstart my weight loss again! best of luck to you! -
I had a 2.5 hour flight from North Dakota to Nevada. I must be the exception to this thread because the flight kicked my @ss. I hadnt eaten all day so after about an hour in Las Vegas we ate. Or I should say they ate and I sat and had PB the whole time. It was the first sliming experience for me and I was FREAKING out! I would suggest waiting a few hours after flying to eat anything and try something very slow.

Oh I lost so much of my hair, I was so scared that I was going to have nothing left in a few months. Slowly it stopped falling out in clumps and now I lose a little more than most people but it has started growing back. I see these little spikey pieces of hair sticking out all over my head, thank God for hair care products!

Must everything be sugar free??
Teacher07 replied to abercchic's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I think things as far as carnation instant breakfast goes, the sugar free has about half the calories. I buy both kinds, whichever is available when I am shopping but if I have the sugar kind for breakfast I just make sure I subtract those calories somewhere else during the day. -
I wish I wouldnt have told anyone. I also am constantly under a microscope being asked if I can eat this or that or how much I can eat at once. I also had a lady say to me, "I didnt know you could eat that much after surgery." I had 3/4 of a cup of scrambled eggs in bowl! uhhh annoying and sometimes hurtful!

I thought that I had stretched my pouch after 2 weeks of poor eating again. I did the 5 day pouch test (google) and now I feel as if I had just had surgery again. Nice and tight and am not able to eat half the food I did a month ago! great program

Has this happened to anyone......
Teacher07 replied to lessofm3's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I agree that sometimes it is better for others not to know. I am constantly being asked so whats your total loss now, how much have you lost this week, you must work out all the time. It honestly gets really invasive especially when you tell someone I havent lost anything since the last time you asked and they go........no really? I think the worst part is when I have to eat around people, EVERYONE says oh you can eat that? Does your stomach fit that much food(even when its only 3/4 a cup). I just want to say SHUT UP and let me eat my little bit of food in peace hahah! -
BCBS Anyone? Share your experiences
Teacher07 replied to Tory09's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have BCBS of North Dakota and after all of my necessary appointments were finished it also took about 9 days to be approved and surgery within 2 weeks. Wow it went SO fast. -
Starting to have 2nd thouhts about banding. HELP!!!
Teacher07 replied to marfar7's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I think it is totally a trial and error thing and completely different for EVERYONE! I have no problem with bread, pasta or rice as long as I chew it well. I did find out that I can no longer eat crab at all now matter how much I chew it gets stuck. Weirdest thing ever but you just have to see what works for yoU! -
This whole time I thought Restless Monkey was a guy! I guess I should have checked the profile. haha

Ok, something is wrong.....
Teacher07 replied to koinoi's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had the same problem, about three weeks after my last fill, I was suddenly feeling so tight in the morning. No particular reason or problem why but I really cant eat anything or drink until I have been up for about 2 hours. Check with your doctor but dont get super worried yet. -
Sharp Pain on Left Side...what could it be?
Teacher07 replied to Who'sThere's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I also have pain on my left side. I also have my port on my left side but it is about 8 inches higher than my port. It is completely strange and I have been in the ER about it and they come up with nothing. Please let me know if you figure anything out. -
Anyone else NOT have to be on preop diet?
Teacher07 replied to kimber1701's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
No preop diet here either. i am thinking it is probably done on an individual basis and your health condition. -
Dr. Colin Maccoll - Comes highly recommended
Teacher07 replied to BryceWagner's topic in Weight Loss Surgeons & Hospitals
I had Dr. Hape as my surgeon and also couldnt be happier. Janet and Shellie are a very useful tool to our weight loss. They are always willing to answer any of my 100 daily questions. -
I was almost 4 months out before sliming happened to me. I ate something and didnt chew well enough and it got stuck. I thought I was going to throw up but when I went to the bathroom it was all slime that came up. GROSS

How long did you wait....
Teacher07 replied to Penweary's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Oh goodness, wait until Christmas Break. 2 days after surgery I was still a pile of $hit! -
help--teeny tiny bits of celery
Teacher07 replied to johnmordecai's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
If you were truelly stuck you would know it. It doesnt feel like something little in your throat when you are stuck it feels like a huge lump in your chest. There is alot of pressure with it when something is stuck. Also, I have never heard that celery is bad for the band, thanks for the info. -
I have seen a few people who have ports that stick out but that is after they have lost 80 plus lbs. I would talk to your doctor because they can change your port to a low profile one that shouldnt stick out like that. Best of luck.

Maybe this will be what you need. Today I cleaned out my closet and threw away 3 bags of clothes that were way to big for me. It has only been 6 months and I down over 60lbs and feeling great. It has been the best decision of my life and I will never regret it. People look at me differently and even though it is sad to say, I think I have gained a new respect from some people. DONT TALK yourself out of it or you will regret it for the rest of your life.

I would say No to work on Monday even if you are feeling up to it. I am concerned because of the type of work you do, I dont think physically your body will be ready to do that kind of work. I also had diet snapple and it tasted great. As far as what is looser than a sports bra, I would just go with an undershirt and no bra at all!
