  1. Hi, I can relate to most of you. I too only lost 3 lbs the last month before my fill. I had my first fill yeterday 1 1/2 cc in a 10 cc band and don't feel any restriction yet. I lost 30 lbs on Atkins before surgery and 13 lbs since the surgery for a total of 43 lbs. My dr. only wants meeating a cup of food three times a day and drinking a lot except during meals and no eating in between meals. I get frustrated too sometimes with how slow it is going, but I am down 2 clothes sizes and riding my bike or walking or doing the Wii Fit everyday. I also try to look at the big picture and stay focused as my family is very supportive and that helps too. I wish all my March bander buddies the best of luck on their journey and will keep all of you n my thoughts and prayers! You go girls!
  2. Hi Sissy,

How are you? I had my first fill today and have lost 13 lbs since my surgery 6 weeks ago.

  3. Hi,

I just had my first fill today. It wasn't bad at all. I can eat any foods after today. I have to be on clear liquids just for today since the fill. I have lost a total of 43 lbs now. 30 before the surgery on Atkins and 13 since the surgery. I am feeling pretty good except for my arthritis, but I got the ok to go back on my arthritic meds today. Thank God.

  4. Hi, I feel pretty good, but I am feeling hungry in between my meals. I called my Dr. and they said to up my protein. That is helped some but not alot. I have my first fill on April 29th. I lost 30 lbs before my surgery, 10 lbs the first two weeks or postop and nothing the last two weeks. Ugh! My Dr. said this is normal before a fill, but I hate not losing anything.
  5. Hi,

I also am at my two week preop and saw the surgeon today. I feel good just a little sore at my port site also. Now, I get to start soft foods and pureed food. Any ideas you like? I lost 30 lbs before my surgery and have lost 10 in the two weeks since my surgery.

    Good Luck!

    Terry

  6. Hi everyone,

I am doing pretty good. The pain is almost all gone now, which was mostly when trying to turn over in bed anyhow, but I am sick of the liquid diet, so I did eat a little yogurt and some pudding, both low fat. I get to start pureed foods on Monday anyway which is 2 weeks after my surgery. I am hoping once I get to eat something more substantial I will have more energy.

  7. About chewing gum; My Dr. did recommend that I not chew gum because if you accidentally swallow it, it may become stuck and have to be surgically removed and I am not taking that chance. However, I would have not even thought of this if he hadn't pointed it out to me.
  8. I hear you about the liquid diet stuff. I was on them for 5 days preop and I have to do them for until Monday for a total of two weeks postop. I was getting light headed early in the week so I have had some yogurt and some pudding, both fatfree. I have only been walking also.
  9. Glad to hear you gas bubble is gone. I hope you are on your way to feeling good now.
  10. Hi, When were you banded teachergirl? I was banded on Mar. 16th and still on all liquids except for diet Jello and diet popsicles.
  11. Hi, This is pretty much the same standard my Dr. goes by, but I have noticed plenty of lapbanders are allowed to start their soft foods earlier then the 2-3 week recommendation.
  12. Hi Holly, I was banded on 3/16/09 by Dr. DiBenedetto in Rochester, NY. I am 55 yrs old and live in Alexander, NY.
  13. Dear Pezo, Hang in there. I too did gain a few lbs right after, but it is from the IVs. My pain was mostly in my throat and my surgical sites when I tried to rollover. I am now into day 9 postop and feel pretty good, but tire easily. I am still on a liquid diet though per my surgeon's instructions. It will all settle down for you.
  14. Best of luck to you. You will do fine. Keep me posted on how you do.
  15. HI, Welcome! You will love this site and also the chat room. Enjoy.
  16. Hi Ree, I was also banded on 3/16. I feel pretty good too. My Dr. put me on all Clear liquids, diet Jello, diet popsicles, and Carnation Instant Breakfast. I see for my post op checkup on April 1. Good Luck.
  17. I feel about the same as you. Today has been my best day thus far. Keep in touch.
  18. I live in Alexander, NY. I wanted to get band because I was tired of being over weight and not feeling good and I have 6 grandchildren and a great husband I want to be able to do more things with as he is retired now and I am retiring a another year.

    3 days Post op

I am feeling pretty good today. Actually, starting to feel hungry which is good as the last two days I drank my clear liquids and ate my jello and popsicles just because I knew if I didn't I would become dehydrated. The body functions are all working good and the bloating from the surgery seems to be going down. Turning over in bed in the hardest thing yet, but gettng better. I am on a pain med, but don't take it as often as I can as I don't feel I need it. Thanks for everyone's support.
