I can totally understand about the finding people here in the st louis area. I do talk to one person that was getting surgery right after I got mine, we had the same Dr. and try to keep in touch via facebook. I just cant believe that there are not that many people around here that have had the lap band done. This web site has helped out so much.

Well I had to do a 6 month dietican supervised diet first for insurance purposes, I lost 25 pounds in those six months. The rest of the weight has come off since my 2 week pre op diet. For the most part 50 pounds of it has come off since June 22nd.
I cant wait for the fill. I try to eat mostly protein to keep me full longer, however it gets kind of boring. I really cant wait to have bread. I have 2 weeks for that.
I am not doing to bad with the weight loss, I am about 11-12 down since 1st week post op. I totally understand the impatient part. Its like I know what to do I just dont always do it.

I got my first fill on 8/3. I've lost 26 pounds so far (after surgery) and am trucking right along. I'm feeling "stuck" with certain foods, learning what I can and can't eat (mostly bread and pasta, the usual) and to take it small and S-L-O-W! I have had one episode of sliming, but no PBs. Still not feeling good restriction though. I actually haven't felt "full" since June despite truly "listening" for it. Right now, I stop eating b/c it hurts and I'm too impatient to slow down even more. However, if I took 2 hours per meal, I could eat as much as I wanted. Not quite sure that's how this thing is supposed to work. Right now I have 6.5 cc in an 11 cc Lap-Band AP.
You are doing quite well according to your ticker. Did you lose a lot of weight pre-op?
