Hey... I'm thinking of your. How was the surgery? How are you feeling today? Mine went very well... they found that I had a hernia while they were putting the band on so they corrected that. I woke up this morning and about 80% of the gas pain was gone. Now I'm on to port site pain and itching.
I havent had any issue with vomiting. When I first woke up I was REALLY dizzy and disoriented. Here and there I feels like I have a huge lump in my throat and it turns out it's a big gas bubble.
How much did you end up losing on the pre-op diet? I lost 15lbs. I am SO excited to be starting this journey! And how cool that we're both doing it at the same time. I look forward to keeping track of each other.

Hello Debi, well no your not asking too many questions, lol, that is fine, I am in Massachusetts, and I am doing my pre-op diet which I am ok, but at the same time still finding myself hungary. I am not a fan of these shakes, I don't know if you have the same ones as I do, but I got these Bariatric shakes and one you have to add fiber too, and ugh thats so nasty, and I got a banana flavored one and the way your supposed to make it you have to use less powder cause of how strong it is. It is not good. So I cut it with the vanilla powder or chocolate powder that I have. So anyway, when is your surgury? One of my other friends told me one tid bit that I want to share with you and that is make sure after your surgury try to sit up and get up and walk as much as possible to relieve the gas bubbles you get from surgury. Well I will talk to you soon!!!

i dont know how much i lost yet i want to wait until the day before surgery so i can be surprised but its killing me to know...lol
my surgery is an out patient surgery i will only be there for a max of 5 hours he said. he told me that it will only take 30mins to put the band in and 2 hours to recover. and he gave me some pain meds to take for pain and dizzness. he told me not to do alot of throwing up cause i will knock the stiches out of place and dont do so much bending for the first 2months. and after surgery i have to be on liquids for 2weeks, mushy for 2weeks then i can start eating soild food after that....
so how did your appointment go today?

1/27 will be my 7th day on the pre-op diet and is also my pre-op appointment. I am not quite as restricted as you are. In the mornining I have a shake and I can have 4oz of fruit. So I end up adding a banana to the shake and a handful of blueberries. Lunch I'll have a shake and either an apple or a hard boiled egg. Dinner I'll have 4oz of protein, 4oz of Veg and a Tbl spoon of "healthy oil". So far I've lost 13 lbs in 6 days!!
People keep saying "why dont you just keep doing your pre-op diet and dont do the operation" They just dont get it... my FOCUS is this surgery. That's why I'm being successful on the pre-op diet. If I go this alone I'll learn zero good eating habits and I'll cheat. I do every time.
Will you have to stay overnight? What did he say about the surgery? I'm very excited for my appointment. I cant wait to go down my loooooong list of questions. LOL
