I am new at being banded. However, like most people on this board, I am not new at attempting to lose weight and be healthy. I decided that I was NOT going to weigh. I decided that 5 days a week I was going to eat 1000 calories and exercise. That is it. That is my committment to this band. Hopefully, the band will help me do that. I also decided that 2 days a week, whichever I choose, I will put anything in my mouth and not count the calories. I am not going to be a slave to this band. I am thankful that I am only 2 weeks out and have had no complications. I am already eating soft food. IT goes down well and I fill full after about 1/2 cup. I did not ask the doctor but common sense says that if you tolerate it you can do it. I have lost 22 pounds but I am not weighing again until I do to the doctor in 6 weeks. I know enough about nutrition to understand that If 5 days a week you only take in 1,000 and you burn 500. YOU WILL TAKE OFF THE WEIGHT. I was weighing everday. It was driving me crazy............... I will not be a slave to the scale either. I hope that you can find the motivation that you need to starting losing again. You have to remember that you have done remarkably well....... Do you know that my doctor said that about 50% of the patients have the band a NEVER GET A FILL. He says he never sees them again until a year later and they are STILL FAT because they are non compliant..... Those people are added into the statistics........ You are not one of those....... You have done it!!! Keep going...................

You call him EVERDAY until he gives in!!!

I will put you in touch with someone that can help you. It is important to have the band moved first and put in the RIGHT place. That doctor will be a witness that it indeed was put in the wrong place. You will get damages out of that. We just have to find a malpractice attorney that will takes a small case. I would say that it is probably a $100,000 case. However, until you get FIXED it is worth nothing. So let's pray that the band gets moved and you become a new person............... Let's keep in touch. You can always email me at asbell38@hotmail.com

where are you located? I can find you some one where you are? My friend is in Atlanta. However I work for 150,000 attorneys nationwide.

I ate wendy's chili today..... 10 days post op. I chewed and chewed. IT went down fine..... I guess I am a cheater too. However, I have not been hungry at all until the past two days.............. I will try to stick to liquids only for the next 7 days.......... Who knows?
-
there does not have to be enough for malpractice, however, you do have punitive damages...... loss work, another surgery cost and mental cost. However, you will only have a case if you have the surgery and it is fixed and your problems go away..... then GO GET HIM.

I know a great malpractice attorney.

Gas pains. Is it food?
pplqueen replied to FunnyDuddies's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
the gas is normal with every abdominal surgery.... I don't think it has ANYTHING TO DO WITH WHAT YOU EAT! Lisa, RN Banded June 21,2006 -21 pounds. -
First of all, You need a pre paid legal plan. well worth $17 a month. I use mine all the time for this kind of crap. I would sick my attorney on him so fast.............In the second place, as a RN for 15 years, I can tell you honestly the reason that I left nursing and changed careers was because of ass holes like him.

My Surgeon Hasnt Done Any Lap Bands!!
pplqueen replied to tommygirl's topic in Weight Loss Surgeons & Hospitals
Typically the reason a problem arises in surgery is due to anesthesia problems. The surgeon is NOT the one who needs to be skilled in that case...... In that case, you better go to every person that touches you on surgery day and grill them about when and where they got their degrees and how many times they have done this surgery. YOU HAVE NOTHING TO WORRY ABOUT. -
Breasts (women only)
pplqueen replied to princess_n_thep's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I had a breast reduction 5 years ago. I had 6 pounds removed. It was the 2nd best thing I have ever done for myself. It is painful, but I only took tylenol. IT is amazing but Tylenol works well for incisional pain.... TRUST ME. I was back at work in 5 days. I LOVE IT LOVE IT LOVE IT. You will too. Your doctor knows what to do he will do exactly as you want and insurance will still pay....... don't worry. -
If your doctor insists that you have one ask for it to be done after you are asleep in the OR. There is absolutely no reason for any one to have a catheter with this surgery. IT is usually outpatient and you are up in a few hours and on your way home. I do not understand people staying overnight unless they have complications. They are not working any where near low abdominals which would be the only reason to use a catherter in the first place.

Make friends with the case manager. I did and was approved in a day. Make them your friend and then ask exactly what you have to do to appel and get approved. Sounds like you just need a few sickensses, I am sure that you have them .Co-mobidities do help..... pain, high blood pressure, snoring, sleep apnea, ect..... Good luck girl. I was scared t odeath but got approved very easily. I thank God for it everyday............

Saul, Good for you! You deserve the best and so does your wife. I certainly did not intend to be a basher........ I do think that you being honest about what is happening is a good thing. You were needing advice and you got it! Good for you for acting on it!! Good luck. Keep us posted.

Thanks for the WOW. I sent you a PM. I almost used Dr. Renhke..... I live in South St. Pete...... I would like to talk. I was banded last week by Dr. Jawad in Ocala. My daughter just graduated from Northside Chrs. with Dr. Rehnke's daughter.

Saul, Don't let this happen to you. All that glitters is not gold...... IF you are a christian, ask God to help you and then find a Christian counselor. If you are not a Christain, GO GET A counselor.... I think that you are feeling what is perfectly normal. I would not even talk to a man who would not talk to me when I was fat..... I would not talk to your wife about any healthy eating or exercising. Reach out to her and show her you still love her after 22 years........ I would rather have a fat husband than a cheating husband. Good Luck!

bendryl works very well. I take it when I travel.

I love the sex Idea... IT does work. IF I wake up in the middle of the night, I wake him up and in 10 minutes we are back to sound sleep. Good idea!

Dr. C. is my brain being affected??
pplqueen replied to FunnyDuddies's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Funny: I did the same thing. I was beginning to think that I had a brain tumor. I even had a cat scan... I was having headaches too. I am typing my words backwards, you know getting the (ltetters confuesd.) Of course I have been having 600 calories a day for a couple fo (that one was for real)weeks.... Could be no brain food...... Good luck .... -
I totally understand why she would not tell the truth. First of all, I don't like or dislike her. I have no opinion personally about her. However, as a public figure myself, I can only imagine if she came out and talked about it, People would flock to get it done and what would happen if they had complications or it did not work for them.? People are crazy. IT is a big responsibility to be famous and have people follow you. She did make the comment. " I did have a medical procedure not the bypass." I still had to diet and exercise." How much more does she have to say??

How long until you were able to work?
pplqueen replied to mslynn's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Here Here. The head hunger is bad. I have just decided that I don't like food anymore. I wake up in the morning felling like a million bucks. As soon as I start putting liguids in my mouth, I feel like crap....... MY body is hating anything in it right now..... -
Lana, High protien and low carbs will shrink your liver. The liver lays on top of the stomach therefore making the surgery easier if the liver is smaller. Make sense? However, those sugar free popsicles and jellos are fine. I think that you can fudge with anything CARBLESS.... even pork rinds. If you like those. They have to make sure that you are not BUFFETING 2 weeks before surgery. That is the reason they are so strict. I did eat steak, crablegs and other high protiens. However, I stayed away from carbs. I was fine. They will not decide not to do the surgery. That would cost them MONEY! Do the best you can and don't worry about it .
