I was a LD nurse for 15 years!!! Are you banded now?
-
Randi, You sound very depressed. I was banded on June 21, 2006. I have lost 40. I am getting my first fill next week on 8/22. Why don't get get a partial unfill. you should not have to be miserable. Don't put it off. I got a post op infection, too. My incicison opened back up BIGTIME and drained green gook for 2 weeks. Be thankful for every step that you take in the right direction. If you don't start feeling better, first see the doctor and then a therapist. Good luck and God bless.

when you get married, sex is a great replacement!!!! That's what I tell my husband, but then again i am 40! Good luck......

You have to move on....... It is called tough love. You can love some one and yet they can be poison to you. You can only be used is you let him use you. Stop being a victim. Find someone else and something else to fill your day. Stop all contact with him. He made a decision. Make him stick to it..............

OMG, I did the same thing all day everday for 3 weeks............

When I started eating more..... it went away..... yours will too. banded 6/21/06 -40 pounds..... YAHOO! NO FILL YET.....

Does anyone have a scale addiction?
pplqueen replied to Kirsten117's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I did have that addiction. However, when you have been REALLY good and it does not move or GOES up..... You are asking for trouble.... No I weigh evey 2 weeks.... PERIOD. -
WOW! The hardest thing to do and the ONLY important thing to do is find out why we needed the lap band to begin with. I personally have never done any of those things however, I do eat alot and usually 3 bigs meals a day....... I have learned in the past 8 weeks(since my banding) that I had a love affair with food for 20 years..... I have let food control me. I have really learned alot about myself to since this journey began.... If we don't strive to fix the inside, the outside will reveal it for us..... Thanks for your post and your honesty. This is a journey.....MAy God help us all to be the best we can be inside and OUT. Banded June 21, 2006 -40 pounds. NO fill yet.

Does anyone want to make a pact with me?
pplqueen replied to sleepyjean's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I am curious about the percentage of people that acutally reach goal and stay within a few pounds of it for any lenght of time. surely there are some out there???? Does any one know statistics about this? I am curious! Banded 6/21/06 -35 pounds. Could not get fill due to incision infection??? fill on my 40th birthday... 8/15 -
Mary, Have no fear... I have experience in Legal nurse consulting. We will find you someone. you do have damages and you have a doctor that says your other doctor screwed up..... The way malpractice works is if you line up 100 doctors and 99 say, I could have made the same mistake... then you do not have a case. However, if 99 say.... He should have known better.... You do have a case.... As we discussed.... You will not have a case if the change in placement leads to the same result. ie. sick, can't eat........ once you have proven that the placement corrected your months of torture you will be on your way........... Most attorneys will not listen to you right now..... It is too soon. They will listen to me. Hang in there for a few more months and stay in touch

I was banded June 21st. I thought I was in heaven. I have lost 27 pounds. For 2 weeks now, I have been able to eat anything as was starting to get worried until I read this post. I guess I am normal. I hardly have any restriction. I am getting my first fill on august 22. I am trying to maintain the weight loss until then. glad I am normal. I appreciate you guys.

We have a saying in my business.(network marketing/home based). "Don't take financial advice from your cousin in the trailer park." Do you catch my drift?? Your fat relatives surely can't give you sound advice on nutrition and health???? shake it off and consider the source. You know when I started my home based business and left my $70,000 RN job, all of my broke friends said. "You are crazy". The doctors that make $500,000 per year, said, " GO GIRL GO". Guess what? My broke friends are still broke and I make ALOT MORE THAN $70,000 and have fun doing it with NO STRESS. Here's the bottom line. "IF YOU BUY FAT MENTALITY, you buy FAT LIFESTYLE" you deserve more.... God created us to be the head not the tail. Good luck GIRL!

You would not see the problems but over time, they will stretch your band...................
-
I don't think it means either. It depends on how bad it is. Could be repositioned or taken out and replaced later........... Don't worry about it.
-
the band starts to erode through your stomach. happens less than 1% of the time so my doctor said. usually a couple of years out.

New to the boards! HI YALL!!!
pplqueen replied to NurseWiggins's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
You should have someone do that 6 month diet progress notes for you. Most insurance will not budge on that. -
tylenol is the best for incisional pain........... Lisa, RN. Morphine does not help.

Where does the trip leave out of???? -
Barb, Did you see the explanation about the should er pain. It has nothing to do with gas after about the first 10 days. It is nerve pain and only time can make that go away. I am 13 days out and my shoulder pain is 99% gone after I eat.

Can I get some feedback from other bandsters?
pplqueen replied to rhlane's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I believe that your main concern is HEAD HUNGER. I will tell you that I was shocked because I never knew that head hunger existed. Until the band 2 weeks ago. I kept wanting to eat but not feeling hungry. and then I understood for the first time in 40 years. Hey, That's how I got fat.... I will also tell you that before the band, I was hungry all the time.. I could eat a big meal and several hours later be hungry. Not anymore..... I think that is why so many people don't take off ALL the WEIGHT... Everybody struggles with HEAD HUNGER. You are normal. I am searcing for a hobby that will replace food... Food has been my best friend for 15 years. Probably true for most people that will read this. Try to replace it with exercise.... or something else... that is my plan. IT is hard though... Good luck.
