Can a slip or pouch dilation heal on its own? If so, how and how long usually? Not long ago I had a bad episode with a hot dog and vomited 5-6 times and couldn't get even liquids down that night. Anyhow, I went on liquids for a couple of days and I was fine. Do you think it healed on it's own? I have had several more pb's but, I typically do fine if I chew and eat slowly? Any reason for concern? Thanks, Julia

Why not one with an added laxative? Dependance? I also wonder why not fiber pills. I can imagine they would bloat? Thanks for the input.

Ladies - What Size Clothes to Cross Your Legs?
hulia goolia replied to JulieNYC's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
This is a fun conversation. I'm a 16 and days of crossing my legs comfortably are closer every Sunday when I wear a dress to church, but, my foot hits the back of the chair in front of me. I'm waiting for it to swing comfortably towards the floor. I thought I was the only one that thought of these crazy things. -
Happy day. I've lost 30 pounds since June 2nd. Does this sound slow? It does to me but, I sure feel better. Thanks, Julia

Poll: What did you do after your Band removal?
hulia goolia replied to fabfatgrl's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
What does it feel like when your band slips? Do you definately know it or does it have to be "diagnosed" ? Does pbing cause the band to slip? How about erosion? Would someone mind explaining that? Dumb questions? Hope not. Thanks, Julia -

I pb about every other day. Is this too often? I find that if I vomit, it's not very much and I just spit up the last bite or so. Any of this sound familiar? Am I too tight? There are times when I can eat the world I just have to eat the right thing and eat very slow. Thanks, Julia -
You look so much younger. You probably feel younger too? You look fantastic.

My Theory on Pouch Dilation - Babs, Shelly, Dr. C
hulia goolia replied to luckyme's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I have a question. I had my first fill about 5 weeks ago and have only lost 3 pounds. Sometimes I get "caught up". But, usually i can eat whatever. I feel like I am "dieting" to lose anything. I plan on getting another fill on monday? Wise choice? -
I got a terrible cold a week after my surgery, thought I was going to cough up a lung. (or rip my stitches). My dr. gave me some killer cough syrup, it is called promethazine with codeine. She said the stitches they use will take alot more than a cough to rip. No worries. Good luck. Julia

You go girl. Skinnnnnnny!!!!!!!!!! Yell it, it helps with hunger. Ha. Is your stomach growling like crazy? Good luck. It will be a drop in the bucket soon. Julia

Bless your heart. I totally understand there are people out there that consiously or mabey unconsiously are predjudice against overweight people or "different" people in general. I've got too many stories to mention. It just hurts when it's family. Remember, what comes around, goes around. They obviously are immature. You're going to be the "hot" sister soon enough. Rub that in their faces. Who needs to be around that? Oh, and parents always try to smooth differences between their children. Hog wash. Julia

Marc- Bless your heart. I was banded by Dr. Ortiz on June 2. It was an amazing experience. I highly recommend him and his staff. I know you're making the right decision and I know it's scary. Keep your appointment and best of luck my friend. I've had incredible loss in my 35 years. 1 sister, 1 daughter, both my parents and recently my "favorite" brother. I believe they are rooting for me from a higher place. lots of love- Julia

I stay fuller so much longer if I don't drink for 1-2 hours after meals. I don't find it any different to dring right before. The way I see it, it flows right down anyway.

Thanks Jacqui- I needed those words of encouragement. I am 6 weeks post-op. I have lost between 13-16 lbs. It has stayed between there for 2 weeks. Getting kind-of discouraged. It sure helps to read that as a whole, I did the right thing. I have not had a fill yet (July 21st) I was wondering what the percentage of you all felt hungry before your first fill Thanks, Julia

Hi- I'm Julia from Tempe. I was banded on June 2, 06 with Dr. Ortiz- great experience. Starting weight was 233. I'm down to 215. Pretty exciting. Had my first pb experience. Not excited about doing that again. Good to keep in touch with you all. By the way, It's hot!!!!!!!!
