Hi BJean Yes, pre-op was today. First, I had an appointment with my nutritionist to go over my post-op diet, then I had to go to the hospital and meet the anesthesiologist (sp?), and he really only made sure I was fine for anesthesia (passed with flying colors), met with a surgical day care nurse, signed the paperwork, etc etc. Nothing really to speak of, mostly the paperwork... Where are you having your surgery done BJean? Yes, I am the first one of the morning. I have to be there at 615am, and my surgery is 730am. I started my pre-op diet last Wednesday (I was in Disney for two weeks and that is the day I came home)..Not too bad, because I tried it out for a week in July and did okay with it (and gave up the caffeine back then, so that was really worse than the diet now!!) How about you?? Sherry

Hi Everyone... I am to be banded on September 11th, YEAH! I started my liquid diet last Wednesday (after being in Disney for two weeks), and it has been going okay, very tough the first couple of days, but now very doable... I wish everyone luck this month!! Sherry

Lapoli I am not being banded until Sept 11th, but just did a week of my pre-op diet to "see if I would make it", and actually I did just fine! Here is my menu from my nutritionist: 730am: sugar free Carn Instant Breakfast and 8oz 1% milk, piece of fruit 1030am: CIB 1230: Healthy Choice Vegetable Soup 330pm: CIB 630pm: 2 CIB and piece of fruit 830pm: sugar free Jello snack Multivitamin and Calcium every day, and 2-3 oz chicken breast two to three times per week. THe hardest part as always was the 'mental' side of it. Now I am using parts of that diet and just adding in a salad or a reasonable dinner meal, and will go back to that completely on Aug 30th (the day I get back from a two week vacation!). Sherry

Hi Everyone... I am just curious what everyone else uses as a menu for their pre-op menu (if you are required to do so by your doctor).. This is mine (per my nutritionist): 730am: sugar free Carn Instant Breakfast and 8oz 1% milk, piece of fruit 1030am: CIB 1230: Healthy Choice Vegetable Soup 330pm: CIB 630pm: 2 CIB and piece of fruit 830pm: sugar free Jello snack Multivitamin and Calcium every day, and 2-3 oz chicken breast two to three times per week. For my pre-op liquid diet, my nutritionist said to use 1% milk that is "sugar free" or is "low carb" to mix with the CIB. I was at the supermarket this morning and looking over the different types of milk (never paid much attention before because I always bought just regular 1%), and dont see any that is specifically sugar-free or low carb. This was a fairly big market. Are there any particular brands, or what did everyone else use? Thanks!

73 lbs in one year is nothing to sneeze at! Congratulations! :clap2:

I think I actually prefer the 0 sugar added as well!
-
I just tried the 'no sugar added' french vanilla CIB and I must say it really doesnt taste much different to me than the regular kind!
-
I just went back to the supermarket and also could only find the low carb one (the blue box)... I havent tried it yet, but I am not expecting anything great since I had the regular CIB French Vanilla and thought it was delicious! What a bummer! LOL

Doy! I am such a ding-a-ling sometimes... She meant "low carb" or "sugar free" Carnation Instant Breakfast, not the milk :-)

Hi Everyone... I have been lurking for a while, absorbing all the information on here, and now have a few questions... FYI, I am 34, have two children, am about 5'7", was a high about 243 lbs when I started this journey, and am down to 229 this morning (and my surgery is scheduled for Sept 11th).. What exactly is a PB and what is sliming? I have a general idea, but what does PB stand for and what exactly happens... Also, when the band is placed, I assume there is no fill at all, but thought I have read a couple of posts where a fill was put in at the time of surgery??? Just curious about what the general rule is... Thanks in advance! All of you are wonderful inspirations! Sherry
