    Wth!!!

I am day 7 and have lost 16 lbs., too! I wish it would continue to fall off like this, but we all know it won't. Celebrate your big loss, and look forward to the rest! Good luck!
  3. I am writing to really whine, i guess. So far I have felt fine, but today has been a completely different story! I am achy, my stomach hurts, and I know that I have been doing too much! I woke up with the runs (sorry, didn't know how to spell the correct word), and have absolutely no appitite. Anyone else going through this? My thighs ache!! It is absolutely rediculous!!!:huh2:
  4. ok, I'm feeling really stupid about now, but I can't find the group to join (banded the 19th), nor can I figure out how to get my ticker going! Help!
  5. Hi! I was banded on the 19th, too. I went back to work yesterday, and I am really thinking I screwed up! Oh well. i just wanted to wish you luck!

  6. I was given a band to wear around my stomach to hold everything in place! I wear it all the time, and it really seems to help. I even have extra padding over my port site to help support it better. Are you doing that? Hope this helps!
  7. shoes, have you tried sucking on hard candy? That really seemed to help that dry mouth feeling i was having. I returned to teaching on the Monday following my surgery on Thursday. Monday was fine, but today I fell like a wet rag and am experiencing some diarreha (sorrry about the spelling), so today is not going as well. I am determined not to miss any school because if this. The good news is I am down 15 lbs! Keep up the good work and good luck to those about to get banded!

    not hungry?

I was banded on the 19th, and I'm not hungry, either! I have been worried about not getting enough substance to maintain my energy level, though! I am averaging 400 to 500 cals. a day, too. I have lost about15 lbs. since the start of my pre-op diet! Hurray!!!!
  9. I'm now 4 days out, and feeling better everyday! I am going back to work tomorrow, so I hope I can make it. If worse comes to worse, my students may be watching movies this next week! I feel fine, not a lot of pain. But, boy if I forget and try to bend over..... My doctor has me what he calls a "liquid" diet, but I am able to have very thin mashed potatoes, yogery, pudding, etc. Not too bad. The worst part now is everythng is sweet (other than the potatoes). I will be very glad when I can add in new things. My caloric intake now is like 500 per day. I know I have to up that, I am just not hungry!!! Good luck to you all!
  10. hi, all. I was just banded on the 19th of March. I would like to join this group of "Lucky Losers", too!
  11. That is so cool! I can't wait to never have to shop in Lane Bryant's or Catherines again!

    POST BANDING INCiSIONS

you will definately bruise, expecially if you are fair skinned like me. My doctor says to watch the insisions and if they get larger than an inch, if they are leaking yucky, smelly grossness from them then to let them know. Try keeping the area clean with a little hyrgenperoxide.
  13. My insurance would not cover the procedure, so I had to direct pay! The good news about that is I didn't have to jump through att those hoops! I had lost about 5lbs before the surgery, on the slimfast diet he made me follow for 2 weeks. I will weight on Monday at school and see where I stand so far.

Oh, I cant figure out how to add you to my friends list....help! Good luck to you!

  14. Where do you teacher? I am in Texas, a small town north of Dallas called Sherman.

  15. I am a teacher! I teach 7th and 8th graders. I didn't really tell my principal what kind of surgery I was having. I am planning on returning to work on Monday - surgery was this Thursday. I really gained my weight over the last 20 years, since I got married and had my kids. My students will be super about it! Because I teach 7th and 8th, my students will be there with me next year, too. So they should really see the difference.

    caffine?

:huh2:I haven't given up my diet Pepsi, or my coffee (cafinated, of course!), and I have a question. I understand about having to give up the carbinated drinks, but why the cafine after the surgery? Will it make my liver stay fatty???
  19. Ok, I am going in in two days, and am having this as day surgery. Anyone else do it this way? What can I expect? I am not worried about my "life" after banding, but I am scared to death of the next 2 to 4 weeks! Wish me luck!

Surgery in 2 days! Day surgery???

I would like a ticker thing, how do I get one?
  21. Mine said that it was just easier on him and me for recovery. How do they check if you have too much fat around your liver?
  22. I am really hoping my doctor isn't really stick about the diet. He didn't seem to be when I met with him. I guess I will know in a couple of days (having surgery on Thursday). I am self-pay...hope that helps him not tell me NO!
  23. I can't believe you have had to go through that! I hope you are rescheduled soon, and as for the nurse. I think she should be looking for a new job!! Good luck to you!
  24. Hang in there! I like to eat at night...I have to all but lock myself into my room, so I won't cheat too badly! Keep looking towards the prize!
