  1. Hi Bob,

It's good that you are aware of the need to get back on track. I have fallen off the wagon myself at times. In my opinion, it would be best to start with something like The Five Day Pouch Test. Basically you go back to liquids then progress to pureed food, etc. I have done that a couple of times and it seems to get my mind back on track. There is something you can buy on that site but I have found enough info on there to do it without buying anything.

    I hope that helps!

  2. Hi Amy!!!

I have had 2 fills so far (at the end of August and the end of September). I have 3.6cc in my band. I was scheduled to go in for another fill at the beginning of November but I called and cancelled the appointment. My doctor had told me that I'd know I was at the right restriction when I was satisfied by eating small meals and stayed satisfied for several hours. I feel like I am in the "sweet spot" now. I have met that criteria but I really don't have any foods that get "stuck" or I PB with. I do restrict breads. I have found a low card tortilla that I like though. I mostly restrict my breads because of my insulin resistance not necessarily because of my band. I have been off my Glucophage since I got banded and I want to keep it that way. I have lost about 51 pounds so far.

    Best wishes!

  3. I haven't been posting lately but here's my info:

    Beginning weight: 294

    Surgery day weight: 282

    Current weight: 249

Total percent of weight lost: 15%

I have had 2 fills and I feel like I have some restriction. I am happy with the restriction I have. I get full on about 3/4 cup of food and stay full for several hours. No PBing or getting food stuck so far.

    God bless you all!

  4. Hi Petunia!

The simple answer to your question is yes and no. Am I stuffed 'full' with what I eat? No. Am I satisfied? Yes. I haven't had a fill yet but I think I have some decent restriction because certain foods I am actually 'full' with a half cup. It's odd... it varies. I would say I can definately not eat more than a full cup of food at a time.

Keep in mind, too, I try to follow my band rules from my doctor. I am supposed to stop eating after 20 minutes. I have kind of stretched it to 30 because I am super cautious and eat really slow so at the beginning I wasn't even able to eat a third cup of chicken salad in 20 minutes.

Oh, and about my meatballs.... I make them myself and they are very big! I would say they are about the size of a raquetball! Half a meatball mashed up with sauce is about half a cup. :)

    Hi Lisa!

I hope your son is feeling ok! Could you please share your recipe for the meatballs you make? Thanks so much!

    God bless!

  5. Since I had my fill last Wednesday the weight has virtually "melted" off. My weigh-in today was 253.2 pounds! I followed my doctor's diet regime for after each fill: on the day of your fill you have Clear Liquids the rest of the day and the next day then gradually advance to full liquids (don't have to be clear liquids), on the 4th day after your fill you start on soft foods for a couple days then you go back to eating your regular food.< /p>

    Start weight: 294.7

    Surgery weight: 282.0

    Today's weight: 253.2

  6. Hi Carol,

Dr. Ray banded my mother and my sister each within the last few months and they can't say enough good things about him. I went to Dr Colquitt a couple of years ago and I was very impressed by him too. I wasn't able to get the band then because of insurance issues. Now the insurance issues have been resolved (hopefully) and when I went back to the office I decided to go with Dr Ray based on the great experience my mom and sister had with him. I have also done pretty extensive research on their office and I feel very good about my decision to go there. I have been a nurse for a long time and my experience has been for the most part, you can find people who have great things and others who have terrible things to say about any doctor. As for me, I'm sticking with Dr Ray.

    Hope that helps!

  7. I bought "My Fitness Coach" for my husband. We had tried out the WiiFit but weren't overly impressed and decided not to spend the money for it. I read the reviews for "My Fitness Coach" on Amazon before I bought it & we have been very happy with it. It personalizes a workout routine for you and lets you pick what type of workout to do. It also lets you add in other exercise you have done, such as walking, swimming, etc so you can keep track of that too.

    I hope that helps!
