Yep Sherry - one poke was all it took. It wasn't that bad, and you know I hate needles. The area around my port is a little numb since surgery, so I think that worked it my favor. lol. It was a weird sensation though. My stomach felt very uncomfortable while he was putting it in, then I was a bit naseous after. Granted I had only had 2 hard boiled eggs all day so that might have contributed to it. But I am so happy to have my fill and feel like I'm now "officially" going to be living the banded life!

Hi everyone! Just wanted to check in and say hi. I just came back from the doctors and got my first fill! Yeah!!! Looks like Anne and I had fills on the same day. He gave me 1.5cc. Oh my! I just assumed he'd start with 1cc. He said he will not even consider giving me another fill for another 4 months, so I don't see him until March. He had me chug a glass of Water to make sure I could keep water down. I just had some Soup, and then went down fine but I can definitely, definitely feel restriction. That's what I signed up for, so I'm ready!! I can't wait to lose some more weight! lol Hope everyone is doing well!!

Hey everyone! I just got back from my fill appt. He put in 1.5cc. Wow! So far so good. He had me chug, yes chug, a glass of water afterwards to make sure I was not too tight. I'm on liquids for a few days. Here we go......

Oh wait a minute! Deb I just noticed that you have lost almost 50lbs since you started this journey in May. And with no fill! That is AWESOME!!!! You go girl!

So as you guys can see - rainbow and I were able to meet! Yeah! It was soooo great to meet you in person Deb! We were talking about planning a get together maybe in January. Also, BIDMC is having a reunion in March for weight loss patients from the past two years. We should all definitely make plans to meet while we're there! So I had my first fill today. 1.5cc's. I was surpised at the amount, because I really thought he would start with 1cc. lol. When I asked him why he was so aggressive with the first fill he smiled and said that he just had a good feeling about that amount. Then he made me chug, yes chug, a glass of Water. lol. But so far so good! I just had some Soup and it definitely went down much, much slower. I'm ready to start losing some more weight, so I'm excited to have my fill!

Kristi - you're bad, but I love it! LOVE it, LOVE it! lol Less than Baxter - self-confidence is a big factor. I bet you could have had those dates, but I understand that is very hard to put yourself out there and ask someone out. I've done it a couple times, and it's hard! lol. You're on the right track now to losing weight, and feeling better about yourself. Definitely keep posting here. I can't wait to hear about all the dating you'll be doing!! Wootsie - I think it's wonderful that you are telling these guys that you're intersted! You deserve to have a wonderful, loving man in your life and if these guys aren't interested - it's their loss! Oh, and that first guy apologized up and down about how rude and inconsiderate he was. lol. I appreciated the apology. Jodie - I understand what it's like to not have a man to be affectionate with. Even just to cuddle. It's tough to not have that, but making it through these times does help you have a better sense of self and make you stronger. And don't ever settle. You deserve to find the guy that is totally into you - and you'll find him! Road Queen - I think it's awesome that you had the guts to move to a foreign country. What a great experience it must be! I don't think I'd be too thrilled with passing around the same guys either. Don't blame you there. But how nice to have the 20 year olds hitting on you. What a boost for the ego!

So tomorrow is the big day! First fill! I should run into rainbow since I think her appt is at 1pm. I'll be there with my mom rainbow. Look for me! Dez, Kay, Nana hope you all are doing well!!

Hi everyone! Sorry I haven't been around much. Things have been very busy around my way these days. Work is crazy crazy crazy. Ugh! Why can't we be independently wealthy?! lol Oh Kat - who shall I be kissing under the mistletoe? I can only hope it will be some hottie, but not the way things have been going with me lately. lol. Although this weekend I did hear from a couple of guys I used to date. One professed his undying love for me (all set thank you) and the other made me an interesting "offer" for companionship if you catch my drift. And THIS is why I am still single. lol Hope everyone is doing well!

oh Kristi girl you are BAD!!! LMAO! Good for you Cathgr8! I'm glad you took that leap of faith, and I hope it works out. And if not, you will never wonder 'what if'. Good for you! So this weekend I went out with a couple friends to a bar, and engaged in the most searing eye contact with a major hottie. I couldn't believe he was looking back! lol. Totally out of my league but I got such a rush from the eye contact. Alas my friends wanted to leave early, so we did. Maybe next time I'll bring new friends! lol

Kimberly I don't drink with meals while I'm on the mushie stage. It is definitely hard not to, but I'm getting better at it as time goes on. Ok, so I weighed in this morning and I've stayed the same. I am estactic, considering that we had Thanksgiving this week and I'm pretty much able to eat normal quantities. I get my fill on Wed - I can't wait!!

I have had the most bizzare couple of days men-wise. I thought this was the perfect place to share. lol So last January I joined Match for a few months and had met some guys. The first guy I went out with had his mother die shortly after our first date. It was unexpected and horrible! We've kept in touch over email and have met up a couple times more, but all just as friends. I haven't seen him in maybe 4 months. So Wed night I was on AIM, and ran into this guy. We chatted for a bit, ended up talking about Christmas and how I always wait until the last minute to wrap. He said I could come over and he'd wrap for me, then made a joke about me wearing a Mrs. Claus outfit. lol. Well within a matter of minutes the conversation completely turned and out of nowhere he just kind of throws out that if I'd like to come over and get some action, he'd be game. I was so caught off guard that I asked him if he was joking. And he wasn't. lol What's so weird is that he and I have never even kissed. I was just so shocked I didn't know what to say. lol. He just did not seem like that kind of guy. I think he felt bad after and kept apologizing. I told him it was ok, but that it was not really my style. It was just so bizzare! So the next night I was back on AIM, and ran into another guy that I dated for little bit over the summer. This guy called me every day, and pursued me hardcore. A little over a month into it he started acting weird and a bit shady, and we decided to stop seeing each other but remain friends. We'll chat every once in a while, but that's about it. So Thursday night we're chatting and he basically professes his undying love for me. How he thinks about me every day, regrets that we stopped seeing each other, and that he was scared and ran away. He'd like to take me out on a date again, etc, etc. I still think he's shady and just a smooth talker, so I politely told him no. Again, just so random and bizzare. My friends always joke with me that I am a "weird-magnet", and it's so true! lol. They don't seem weird at first, but give them a little time and weirdness always comes out. lol. Anyway, I thought these stories were funny and that you guys might enjoy. Hope everyone is doing well!

ladydi - I totally understand how you feel. Sometimes the weight just creeps up on you and all of a sudden you wake up and wonder how the heck you got to this point?! You are doing great with the band, which is such an inspiration!

Well Dianne for me I liked being chesty, I just didn't like being SO chesty. I wouldn't want to go smaller than a C, but that's me. Since I had a larger frame I like having a chest to balance it out. And trust me - a C cup will feel very small compared to what you have now.

Oh I ate, and quite a bit. lol. I even had a small sliver of apple pie. Overall, I ate waaaay less than I normally would have, so I'm not going to beat myself up over it. Tomorrow is a new day and back to healthy eating. But man I can't wait for my fill next Wednesday! lol Hope everyone enjoyed their turkey day!

Wow Jess that place looks incredible!! Have a wonderful, wonderful time! As far as the incisions go, I would bring the bandaids and maybe some cleaning solution like hydrogen peroxide in case they start looking a little dicey. Oh - and I believe a frozen margarita would count as a mushy. :nervous

JDru I burp waaaaay more now than I ever did before. And they are big, deep burps. Just a side effect of the band I think.

So I almost had a PB last night. I was rushing home from work and needed to grab something for dinner before I went to line dancing. I stopped to the grocery store and picked up one chicken finger from the prepared food area. I figured this was a good choice for a quick, protein meal on the go. And it probably would have been if I didn't try to inhale it. I was in such a rush, I didn't even think how I was eating and it got stuck. And it HURT, really bad. I kept burping small burps, felt very naseous, and thought it was coming up. I was able to walk it off, but it was a close call. Yikes!! Happy Thanksgiving to everyone! Best of luck with our first holiday after banding!!

Bean I make two different types of calzones. Spinach & cheese (with lots of garlic) and Italian meat (salami, capicola, pepperoni & cheese). I probably won't really be able to eat much of the calzone, but since my mom is banded we are going to have plenty of foods we can eat. She is making sweedish meatballs, cheese & crackers, scallops in bacon and shrimp cocktail for us. I am going to just eat one small plate of appetizers because later that afternoon I will be heading over to my friend's house and I'll have a small dinner plate of turkey & sausage stuffing (my favorite!!). My mom will cook a turkey on Friday, and I've already put dibs on the carcass so I can make a soup. Yummy!! Kat I've been cooking Christmas dinner for my family since I was 26. Luckily for my mom I have a big mouth and make sure to tell my sisters what to bring and then after dinner I make them do the dishes. Hey - I cooked and Mom deserves a break, right? lol
