Band revised to sleeve 11/29/17
NewBeginnings2018 replied to dhigg68's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Wow, I am impressed with your loss! I'm 3 weeks out from revision and have been stuck at 6.5lbs since the first week. Can you explain more about portion control? Is it snacking, etc or eating more at one sitting? Curious as I'm sure I'll be facing similar challenges down the road. -

Sharp pains when eating??
NewBeginnings2018 posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hello! I am 4 days out from being sleeved and now that I am transitioning to pureed foods per my doctors orders, I am finding I get massive sharp pains when I eat. It comes in a wave and almost feels like a gas bubble moving it's way up. It's mainly localized under my left breastbone. I'm assuming it's either gas or my stomach moving that is causing the pain. Have others experienced this as well?? -
Keeping medicine down Post-surgery
NewBeginnings2018 replied to ElseeG's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I had one day off medicine and then went right back to taking my pills. I need to spread them out a bit, but have had no issues including the big anti-acid pill they had me take starting the day after surgery. It was pretty scary, not going to lie, but I've had no problems. -

2 weeks pre-surgery....very nervous reading some of the posts
NewBeginnings2018 replied to ~Primrose~'s topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
My post-surgery experience was not bad at all. I felt just ok for the first few days but by day 5 I felt great and by day 7 I couldn't even tell something had happened! I have had no issues getting in fluids, no pains with eating, so overall it's been a very positive experience. I was very nervous too and was happy to get to the other side! -
I can't get used to being thinner!

As a newly sleeved person you are all giving me a lot to think about and a lot to look forward to. The mind takes so much longer to change than the body. Keep up the great work! -
The Fat Prom...ok, they don't really call it that

I am in MA. -
Sounds like you are off to a great start! I'm a little over two weeks out and have realized too that I need to slow my expectations down quite a bit. lol. I lost 7 pounds in the first week and have been stalled ever since. Made me realize very quickly that my body was going decide how it lost weight. I can't control that, only what I put in my mouth and what I do for exercise. I'm getting my water and protein goals in, and am on pureed foods for 2 more weeks. Right now I'm focusing on following the doctor's orders and letting my body heal.

FEAR OF FAILURE— Band To Sleeve Revision. Maybe.
NewBeginnings2018 replied to TinaM8's topic in Revision Weight Loss Surgery Forums (NEW!)
I had no issues with the band other than still being obese. They were able to do it in one surgery thankfully! -
FEAR OF FAILURE— Band To Sleeve Revision. Maybe.
NewBeginnings2018 replied to TinaM8's topic in Revision Weight Loss Surgery Forums (NEW!)
I totally get this! I was also done with the band - tired of feeling the pressure in my chest constantly and having to "lube" up healthy foods in order to eat at. So the band was coming out to either way. I was ok with eating small portions and was ready to make changes so I went for it! -
FEAR OF FAILURE— Band To Sleeve Revision. Maybe.
NewBeginnings2018 replied to TinaM8's topic in Revision Weight Loss Surgery Forums (NEW!)
My story is almost the exact same - same fears and concerns. I had my revision on the 8th so I'm too early to comment on the differences but after a long process of thinking and debating I decided that I was not going to conquer this life long battle by myself without help. What made me really decide to move forward was the metabolic change that comes with the sleeve. It's so different than what we had with the band. Good luck with your decision process! -
More Exhuasted At 3 Weeks Post-Op
NewBeginnings2018 replied to KatFight's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I had my follow up at 10 days post op and told them how great I felt. Almost like I had never had surgery. I was warned that around 3 weeks a lot of people hit a wall with exhaustion. -
How would you rate the ease/difficulty of your first week after surgery?
NewBeginnings2018 replied to Creekimp13's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I would say I was an 8. First few days were tough, no complications or issues, just did not feel well. Since day 5 I have been feeling great! -
What's for lunch today?

Any January 2018 Sleevers?
NewBeginnings2018 replied to VSGnewguy's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
My doctor's orders were as long as I was off the narcotic pain meds I could drive. I felt up to going out about 5 days out. Could have driven before that tough if I had to. -
Congratulations! You look amazing!

My gosh, so sorry for all you've gone through! I am happy you are on the other side and getting back to a "normal" life. God is good!
