The Biblical Case for Pro-Choice & Stem Cell Research
wild_in97 replied to Tired_Old_Man's topic in Rants & Raves
I am truly sorry for your disease state. But, yes, there can be some help for you as for many others. I can give you the name of a naturopath that I have used and has helped many with Lupus. I send folks to her all the time. But, if you want the info, I won't advertise her name on this site. There have been some interesting finding when it comes to the Parkinson's. I really believe that the Lord put us on this earth with everything here in a natural state that we need. PM me. I am, Wild.............about life. Living can be good. -
The Biblical Case for Pro-Choice & Stem Cell Research
wild_in97 replied to Tired_Old_Man's topic in Rants & Raves
Because they are all, as you, looking to pharmaceuticals and/or the allopathic medical world, for all solutions. Yes, I have some scientific and many experiences to prove this. I want no war with anyone. I truly want to help others, not fight. I am putting my future on the line. I am doing something to help others. Other than fighting others, what are you doing???? I truly love people and want to help others. But to listen to this debate and then no one respond to reversals with natural alternatives was a revealing silent statement. If you would be honest, you would consider that possibility. Maybe not swallow it hook-line and sinker, but consider it. Before you yell at me and accuse me, consider the possibility. That is all I say...........what if. Yes, I have helped someone with severe Parkinson's as well as other major health issues recover. It is not my great discovery..........but I can use it to help others. Sorry, I don't want to fight and I don't want to argue, but it will be pretty obvious which of you do. May God bless you all with great wisdom. Wild............about life. -
The Biblical Case for Pro-Choice & Stem Cell Research
wild_in97 replied to Tired_Old_Man's topic in Rants & Raves
I think it is so interesting that NOT ONE OF YOU were interested in the idea that there are natural molecules that will multiply your OWN NATURAL STEM CELLS. HELLO........ANYONE READING THIS?????? THERE ARE MOLECULES OUT THERE THAT HAVE BEEN PROVEN TO MULTIPLY YOUR OWN STEM CELLS, SO THEREFORE, IF YOU HAVE PARKINSON'S, STROKE ETC............YOU CAN MULTIPLY YOUR OWN STEM CELLS AND REVERSE YOUR OWN CONDITIONS. BUT YOU ARE ALL SO CONCERNED ABOUT "WINNING" YOUR OWN ARGUMENTS. I SEE HOW MANY ARE REALLY INTERESTED IN A REMEDY IN THE DISEASES THAT ARE OUT THERE..............YOU HAVE A POLITICAL AGENDA.......NOT A STINKING SOLUTION. So, what do we calll that??????????????? You answer that question, I don't think I should. I am going to start a non-profit org to try to help people with this information. I am not trying to convince you, but only detect your selfish ambition and selfish agendas. What pooey you all are full of............................... May the Lord bless you regardless of your total degradation. We all were there at one time................ Saved but not perfect. Wild.................about life. -
The Biblical Case for Pro-Choice & Stem Cell Research
wild_in97 replied to Tired_Old_Man's topic in Rants & Raves
Guess what??? Did you guys know there are other things that have been proven to cause you to multiply the number of stem cells your body produces and that your body can actually correct itself when this occurs? For example, I know of some folks that have had some brain injuries due to strokes, accidents etc..........was told their condition would never improve due to the brain injury. However, after taking some natural non-toxic food components, their own body began to produce stem cells and gradually corrected itself. Now, that is a GREAT thing. Wild...........about life. -
Is it detrimental to...
wild_in97 replied to colleensunshine's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I think the final decision would be between you and your surgeon....but my gut instinct would be ..........NOOOOOOOO!!!! You don't need to calm your nerves down.........the docts will give you something for that. Relax, you have a long road ahead. God bless Wild -

This totally has nothing to do with the diet...........but we just got back from Spokane. We love that entire area. We lived up there for a couple of years and bought a home in northern Idaho while there. We have kept it all these years and go up there 2-4 times a year to take care of it and enjoy the weather. I LOVE it up there. God bless Wild..........about life, especially in the GREAT Northwest!!!!

I don't know if that is part of why some days I do a lot of pb'ing or what the problem is. I know that I do get so hungry and when I finally eat, it does not feel good for a while, so I certainly don't want to just keep eating. Many people on some of the message boards have told me it sounds as though I need an unfill......but that just aint gonna happen unless I can not get liquid down. My first fill did practically nothing for me at all. I use some natural products that have helped me with sleep and relaxing more. I think it has been a saving grace in me getting over anxious and not being able to satisfy my food cravings with food. I know I do not look forward to food as I once did. I almost dread it some times, but look at it as something I must do. Which if you had told me 6 months ago, that I would feel this way, I would have laughed at you, but then, nobody knows the future. I am losing slow. However, as long as it continues in the right direction, I am ok with it. As little as I eat now, I would think I would lose 2-3 pounds a week, but it seems I am doing good to lose .5 - 1 pound a week. Wild.........about life.

So, how many fills have you had from her? What size band do you have? How much have you lost? These folks that have had 3-5 fills and feel no restriction sounds strange to me. I felt little to nothing after the first fill, but my second fill has had me tight..........almost too tight. She told me I would feel this fill, and boy was she right. I am finally, after almost 6 weeks can eat a small meal with out giving half of it back to the garbage or the toilet. I just went out to eat MX food with my daughter tonight. I had a tamale and one fajita with not much more than the tortilla, some chicken a little lettuce and some green sauce on it. I had to go to the toilet twice and give back a few bites each time. So, i would say out of the entire meal, I guess I kept about half of it.........maybe. :hungry::hungry: She told me to come back in 4-5 weeks for another fill.......but I would probably not be able to keep liquid down if I went back and got another fill. Have a great day. God bless Wild...........about life:clap2::clap2:

Hey, I have kind of a complicated life. Anyone from either of these areas? I could sure use someone to talk to. I am a bit of a loner when it comes to the LapBand. I chose not to tell anyone, but my husband. My husband does not understand weight problems. But he is the only one I trusted with this information. Anyone there????? I was banded July 27th in MX and weight at the peak was 238 and the day of surgery I was 231.5 and now 210. That is not a lot of lost weight, but it is at least moving in the right direction. I know the next 10-15 pounds will make a much bigger empact on the way I look than those first 20 pounds. I am down a full size. Gone from size 18 being almost too small.....they were getting mighty tight. Now 16 is comfortable. ahahahahhhhhhh. I doubt I go to any meeting because I chose to do this surgery in secret. Nobody knows other than hubby. Please tell nobody. This is highly confidential. God bless Wild

Hi, I was banded in MX July 27th of this year. I have only lost around 25 pounds and I do get a bit discouraged from time to time. I have only had two fills. The second one was almost too much. I was filled almost 4 weeks ago and am just now getting to where I can eat two tiny meals a day. If I were eating lots I could understand such slow loss, but I am not eating much of anything. I am not doing the major exercise, but I have increased my activity level. The majority of my loss of the 25 pounds was the first month. I guess I lost about 13-14 that first month............since then, I do good to lose a pound evey week or two. I live in Houston 4 days a week and work in the Humble area those days. My apartment is close to the 610 and 59 S. area, but my home is in another city. It is very complicated portion of my life...... I pray you all have a very GREAT Thanksgiving and do not over stuff yourself. After all, you are not the turkeys.......... God bless Wild

I am not sure what kind of shake you have either. I found some at costco that is a powder form that one serving has 27 grams of Protein. That is a great amount in one serving. I put mine in the blender with ice and orange juice.........it makes it yummy. Another thing I do to zip it up is put a ripe banana in it. Makes almost a milkshake type drink. Also, get a mixture you really like and freeze part of it..........makes you think you are eating ice cream and it is really pretty good. Also, get some really good broths. I love the Knorr brand of the broth cubes. The vegetable broth is really my favorite, but the beef and chicken are great too. I have been banded since the end of July 2006 and I am finally losing my constant mental hunger. The mental hunger is much worse than the physical hunger. Even all my baked goods for the holidays does not make my mouth Water anymore..........and my baked goods are better than 95% of all baked goods in the U.S. That is not bragging, it is just stating facts. I pray you all have a very GREAT and wonderful Thanksgiving. God bless Wild

Six Tijuana doctors arrested in sting
wild_in97 replied to BekahBoo's topic in Weight Loss Surgeons & Hospitals
Robin, when I was looking into getting banded, going to MX for surgery sounded like suicide. However, through this site, someone private messaged me and told me about their experience. She told me how good she felt about the entire ordeal and never felt safer. Well, I knew I could not afford the $15K to $25K that most doctors in the U.S. charged, plus I was going to have to be self pay because I did not have 40+ BMI. So, my choices were to either get banded in TJ or not get banded at all. I decided that it (the weight)was the thorn in my flesh. I had to do this and if so many other people felt safe doing a particular doctor in TJ, I should just do it. So, I did. To be real honest, Dr. Ortiz and Dr. Martinez were great. They went an extra couple of miles for me and I have to say, the MX doctors did me right. I truly can not complain at all. The American doctors would have not done what they did............ I was very pleased. Take the plunge and do it right. I do suggest you look into dr. Ortiz. However, it was Dr. Martinez that works with Dr. Ortiz that went so much out of his way for me.............though both were great!!!!! God bless Wild -
I went to TJ to Dr. Ortiz and they were great. I went alone. Yes, it was great. However, I did have a bit of a problem. I woke up with hiccups and my band slipped due to this unfortunate event. I could not swallow much liquid at a time. I mean, no more than about a half cup per hour of liquid or it would come up. So, I had to stay and get a second surgery...........and they took great care of me. They charged me nothing for another surgery another two days and nights in the hospital then, another night in the hotel and did not charge me an extra dime!!!!! Tell me a U.S. doctor that would do that. Dr. Martinez came out the night before my second surgery to check on me around 10:00 at night. I can not imagine being in better hands. God bless you all...........Wild.

I had a problem right after I had the surgery. I woke up from the surgery with hiccups and evidently the band slipped. So, I had a second surgery to correct it while in Mexico. I felt better about the second surgery than the first. I knew I was in good hands when they started telling me they were thinking of doing another surgery and would take care of the problem. I don't know if they cared about me or just their reputation that I would bring back to the states............but they cared about something because they did a second surgery for free. Tell me of an American doctor that would do that!!!!! Anyhow, I have lost around 20 pounds. I have had one fill, but it really did not do much for me. I might have gotten a tiny restriction for a few days from it, but believe me, it was tiny. I am going back for another fill this Saturday. I started out weighing around 237, lost only down to 231.5 for surgery and am right now at 216. I am hoping the second fill will be a little more restrictive. Even without the restriction, I have to remember to chew, chew, chew for it to go down as it should. I eat very healthy....whole grains, lean meats, fruits and veggies.....you just have to remember to chew, chew, chew!!!!!! It is hard to remember sometimes, but it is becoming more a part of my life to chew. It makes an apple so much more satisfying when you chew it up to an applesauce.....including the peel. See, the doctors told me to peel my apples, but that is where the majority of the nourishment is. So, I keep them on and chew, chew, chew and it is much more satisfying that way. I do love my band. It is not as restrictive as I wish it was, but that is the purpose of the fills.....right? The doc doing my fills told me not to expect too much from the first fill. So, she was right and now I will go in for my second fill. I do pray it is more restrictive. The first two weeks after the surgery, there was truly NO hunger at all. But most of us that are overweight are emotional eaters. So, we do need that reminder in our life, are we eating because our body needs the nourishment, or are we eating because we had a crappy day!!!!????? Most of my eating is the second. How about yours????? I find myself resenting the fact I can't eat as much and as long as I once could...........dah, why did I get banded. Oh yeah, to help me remember when enough is enough!!!!! OK, now tell me how my thinking is stinking!!!!!! Wild

I called her office today. I was told she charges $250 and they could not imagine where anyone would get the idea they only charge $200 and they do not use the flouro. The woman answering the phone said that she can send you over to get ex-rayed and then look at the results of it to give you the fill............. She honestly acted like I was making the information up. So, I declined an appointment. If she sticks you in the tube that runs from the port to the band, it will forever leak and the money you spent on getting the bad is gone. Cause they do not guarantee anything!!!!! Just an FYI on this doc. Wild

This sounds great. Can you tell me how much she charges? Does she use the flouroscope? I am very familiar with Baytown. It is on the right side of Houston at least. Please let me know what your experience with her has been. I do thank you for this info and any tidbit of info that can help me. Does anyone know of a doctor that does fills in the Beaumont, Houston area that uses Flouroscope? I don't want to be a doctors first fill either. I was banded in Mexico and have been driving to Bryan/College Station for my only fill so far. It is just hard to get away for fills when it takes up your entire day. I really liked her, but just can not get away often when I drive 4 hours there. Even if it is Lake Charles La or Orange TX. Anywhere in the far South east TX area. Reasonably priced Drs in the US for Self payers?
wild_in97 replied to VABandster's topic in Weight Loss Surgeons & Hospitals
No there should be no problem going it alone. I did it and have not regretted it at all. As a matter of fact, I woke up with the hiccups from my surgery. I could only take a sip of Water every hour or two without throwing up. The only time I tried more, up it came. They ex-rayed me and realized it has slipped due to the hiccups. They did a second surgery on me and I stayed two extra nights in their clinic with NO EXTRA charges other than my tickets cost me $200 to fly back home with changing reservation time. They charged me nothing extra with a extra surgery to anchor the band down more and for two extra nights in their clinic. I take my hat off for Dr. Ortiz and his group. He could have let me fly back home............hoping it would take care of itself eventually or charged me for an extra surgery, but he did neither. He realized this was not my fault or the surgeons..........so HE TOOK CARE OF THE PROBLEM!!!!! Try to get an American Medical doctor to do the same. I hope life turns out well for you God bless WILD -

Do you know if this doctor does fills for those that went to Mexico? Does he use flouro? I would be very interested in his information....phone #, address etc...... Wild..... in the Houston area. -
All alcohol is not the same. Wines have some very valuable phytochemicals. It has about 3-4 times the amount of phytochemicals in them that the same amount of grape juice has.....but it is also a good relaxant. The white wines have some phytochemicals in them too, just not as many. So, choose healthy, choose red wines.......But be aware. If you are not eating much, then your body will or should be more sensitive to the alcohol. Whereas you may have done fine with 3 glasses of wine before, you may want to cut it to 1-2. Just be very careful with the amount. Wild

Cheating..No, not with food!
wild_in97 replied to kimalicious's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I have been married for 30 years to the same wonderful man. He is the strongest man I know as far as spiritually, emotionally, and pretty strong physically. He is an amazing man and I could not ever cheat on him. He has been the same weight since 6 months after we were married. However, I have gone up and down the scales like a stinking yoyo. I have been around 136 at my lowest weight and around 240 at my highest weight. He has always been supportive and was ok with me spending $9000 for going to MX. He won't spend $300 for a set of golf clubs for himself. I don't think he would ever cheat on me and I know I would never cheat on him. Wouldn't, couldn't and shouldn't!!!!!!!! Wild -

wild_in97 replied to VABandster's topic in Weight Loss Surgeons & Hospitals
I felt a lot the same way. I am healthy as a horse so I did not think the insurance would take care of me. Therefore, I had to look at Mexico cause I am not made out of money.......fat is more like it. So, I talked it over with my hubby and he was ok with whatever I decided to do. So, I went to MX and for $9000 I had the surgery and my airline tickets left. I really did feel like I was in good hands. I have told NOBODY but my husband. So, just take a trip to San Diego on vacation with someone or by yourself and just do it. I am so happy I did it. I hate that I spent that money because we could have done so much, but if it helps me lose this, it will be worth so much more than anything else I could have done with it. Therefore, I say DO IT. God bless in your decisions, Wild -
Who is having success with their Band?
wild_in97 replied to NurseMichelle's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
You guys are encouraging. I am a newly banded bandster and am not upset with my weight loss and not ecstatic with it either. I was more on the ecstatic side of the isle until I started eating cottage cheese and soft scrambled eggs. Up until I started on the soft food, I had lost 12 pounds in about 12-14 days. I was happy with those results. This morning I weighed and finally lost another pound after about 5 days of the soft foods. I need to lose fast and consistently. I was self pay and went to Mexico. It cost me with tickets and doctors a bit over $9K. It may not be much to some people, but that is a lot of money for us..........I figure I need to lose at least one pound for every $100 I spent. I started out at 232.5 and weighed 219 this morning. So, I need to lose another 78-80 pounds. Some of you guys have lost 40-50 pounds in just a few months.......how does that feel? Do you look good? When you look in the mirror do you see yourself as you always have been or do you see a thinner more confident person? Are you in much smaller clothes? Sorry if I am getting off the track, but I need to hear these things from someone that has been banded for a few months and can encourage me. Thanks Wild
