  1. Happy 42nd Birthday Linlayni!

  2. Happy 41st Birthday Linlayni!

  3. I think for the first time....I might have too good of a restriction. I was banded March 20th and until a week ago, I had only lost 9 lbs. I felt NO restriction, well, maybe a little if I ate a big bite, not paying attention......but a week ago, I got my third fill - total of 7cc.....and from the drink of water at the hospital, I could tell a difference. I can BARELY eat anything. I am forcing 1 or 2 bites of anything in the morning, a cup of soup or so at lunch and a very small dinner....in fact, I am struggling to get 1000 calories in each day. The funny thing is, I even feel a little nauseous after I eat each meal.....maybe it is too much of a restriction, but I am not saying anything until I go back..haha....I am using this as a time for, hopefully, a substantial weight loss month. I am losing almost a pound each day since my last fill.
  4. Big Momma is shrinking: HOW long did it take for your body to adjust. I do notice that my clothes are fitting looser, but this is SOOOOOO frustrating. I can't seem to lose any weight. I play around with 3 lbs.....gaining losing gaining losing. I am starting to get really frustrated! I know my body is in shock. It's thinking, "this won't be long. Pretty soon she'll be back to 2000+ calories per day! Shoes: I don't know if you have this problem, but I completely agree that it is about chewing chewing chewing (and then also starchy foods). I have a problem chewing 16-20 times. I am not used to it, so if I don't really pay attention, after about 10 chews, the food wants to go down. That is also when I have issues.
  5. Shoes: I have noticed a strange feeling in my throat a few times since I have been adding foods. I tried eating multi grain cheerios last weekend and they just wouldn't go down right. I felt a lump in my throat. Also got that feeling when I ate some rice. I think it happens to me with starchy foods. Do you notice it all the time? Both times I got up and walked a little and then was fine. I am so looking forward to my fill. My Dr doesn't do it for 6 weeks. My problem? I am leaving for Disney World the very next day. So I put my fill off until almost 8 weeks from surgery. I just wasn't sure how I would handle it and we are flying to Disney. My Dr.'s office nurse told me that some people have issues when they fly. I didn't want to take that chance. I wonder if I should call to see if they could do it the week before?
  6. Have you lost consistently or did your body stop losing once you started eating some food...mashed potatoes?
  7. I am just going off of the fact that if you are fat, or overweight if the fat term offends, eating less that 1200 calories and exercising should = weight loss. What does the band have to do with it, restricted or not?
  8. When you started mushy food, did your weight loss stop for any length of time? I lost 8 lbs the first week......nothing since I started the mushy stuff.
  9. I really feel for you too! I lost 8 lbs the first week and now nothing. I don't even think I am eating 1200 calories. I heard this happens, your body reacts differently to the food, but I am working out. I am doing a half hour on the treadmill each day, yesterday, twice! It is so frustrating. My friends who are just dieting are losing more than me after surgery.
  10. I have not lost ANY weight since the mushies started!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have not even eaten that much. I am hungry but I am working out........what is the deal? Anyone else experience this? Is there a problem? I am getting really frustrated.
  11. I did the same thing girl!!! When I went today for my follow up, they never even asked about what exactly I was eating. I asked them and they said, "just follow the plan we gave you!". My plan said Mushies, 7-10 days after....so I was guilty for nothing! Just chew chew chew. Also, do you know when we can eat salad?
  12. click on the link above my ticker....make your own.....copy the link under "Bb" when you save the ticker......then go to user cp- Under signature....that is where you paste the ticker. You can copy the "lucky loser" directly from my message and again, put it on your signature....any time you do anything with your signature, there is a button where you can preview....click that, look at it and then save the signature. By the way, how much have you lost......were you on liquids for 1 or 2 weeks....I also had the 1 incision and am healing good. I am starving though....I was banded on the 20th. Have you been exercising alot? If so, what?
  13. Is anyone exercising yet? I have been walking about 30 minutes the last few days and I am weak from only having liquids. I have to admit, I ate 1/4 cup of green beans at dinner last night. I just chewed them up alot. (That is something I can start Monday, anyway). I was banded last Friday. Is anyone else struggling with the liquid only stage?
  14. Finally, I think I have figured out how to get my ticker! I have been gathering information from this site for 3 years. I had GHP but just this year I switched to BCBS and thankfully, I was banded on March 20th. I was able to be banded with only 1 incision. Right through my belly button. Depaul Health Center, in St Louis, Dr Scott and De la Tore were the surgeons. That office has been fantastic to work with and I am so lucky. As far as the surgery, the worse part has been the gas build up. It was pretty bad the first night, I barely slept. I am feeling pretty good right now, I have been able to walk 10-15 minutes the last couple of days. The "not chewing" has been a struggle. I don't even think I am hungry.....just know it is time to eat.....if that makes any sense. I go back to the office next Monday for my first follow up and I will be put on soft foods then. Right now I am living on Slim Fast (the lo carb kind), lipton noodle broth, and skim milk. I am really excited about the future clothes shopping experiences though. I can hardly wait to dress like I know I should. I think I have always had good taste, just not the body to show them off!!!!!:huh2: I had my husband take a picture of me.....yuck! The day of surgery. I long for the day I will be happy to have my picture taken!
  15. how do I get my ticker attached to my name?
