Wow Regina! You look great! I think I was in that same cave...no seriously...my friends live in Arkansas and we drove to Branson and stopped at some caverns/caves. Can't remember the name. There is a formation that is an angel. Is that the one you were in? I know there are many caves in that area.

Hey all! I got a fill today. Just .6cc. I am now on liquids for 3 days and will be on solids in time for Vegas, but I know my fellow bandsters will keep me honest. The border crossing was a breeze today-only in line 10 minutes!!! I can't wait for Vegas. I wish Mamma, Leece, Regina and Poodles were joining us too. Maybe next time!

Some people have "first bite syndrome". I don't know much about it because I don't get it. But, make sure you aren't taking a "mouthful". You should take a very small bite, chew thoroughly and WAIT. If slowing down and taking smaller bites doesn't help, you may need a slight unfill. Be careful. Best of health.

That bowl is a great idea though. I may have to invest in one. Less than a week til Vegas! I am SO ready for some fun!

Mexico: experience see here
socalgal3 replied to austiesky's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Congrats on being banded! I was banded in Mexico as well, though not by your surgeon. There are some nightmare doctors wherever you go, US or Mexico or elsewhere, so I'm glad you had an excellent experience. -
Looking good Lisa! Keep it up girl! You CAN do it!

You may all think I'm crazy(well I kinda am!), but I've been thinking about HYPNOSIS! I am serious. I have such strong head hunger, it is ridiculous. I am really afraid of stretching my pouch or slipping again and I can't seem to keep my willpower sustained. I realize I have no fill right now, but the other times I had fill, I had to get unfilled, so I'm not banking on that working. Has anyone tried hypnosis? If not, what do you think?

I thought the same thing Barb, but if I put it off til after Vegas, I'll put it off til after 4th of July, after....after...after.....Plus, I'll be on liquids for 3 days after the fill. The appt. is 9:30am on Monday, so I'll be able to eat by Thursday. If I can't eat, I'll just drink and drink some more! hahaha What do you all think? Do you have Lucymann's info. from the check she sent you for Celine? Have you PM'd her? I am anxious to see your anniversary shot Barb! K bye. M

I was saying your husband shouldn't compare you to others, not that you were comparing yourself to others. I meant the universal "you", not you specifically. Sorry I wasn't clear.
-
Oh, P.S. I have a fill scheduled for next Monday, the 18th. I think I'll go for .5cc. I am ready to lose these last 30 pounds!!!
-
I am sorry that your husband isn't being as supportive as you need him to be at this time. But, that is why you have US!! You can't really compare yourself to others. We all are different ages, had different starting weights, are different heights, have varying medical concerns, stresses, etc. We even have different instructions from our surgeons, for goodness sake! This is a time for celebration, not frustration! Just use that anger as momentum to speed you to your goals! 50 pounds is a tremendous improvement and puts you at a pound a week which is a healthy rate of loss. Don't give up! You should read some threads here about spouses-they react differently. Many are threatened by the weight loss, envious, or just confused. You have had a good result from surgery and YOU know it.

You look GREAT Cindy! Congrats and keep up the good work!

Okay, that was my surgery day photo. I'll try to do a side by side so you can try to see some improvement! I'm not too good at posting, so I apologize. I hope everyone is having a good start to the week and had a good weekend.

I live in San Diego, but if you are on the East Coast, I strongly recommend Charleston, SC. Have fun!

We arrive in Vegas on June 21-my bday! I'll PM my info. to you right now Barb. Congrats on the bandiversaries Stella and Regina!

I take Lean Cuisines or their equivalent(Smart Ones, Healthy Choice, etc.) to work all the time for lunch when I don't have time to whip up tuna salad or something else. Some people don't think it's good due to sodium, etc., but I think it is better than so many other things I could put down my throat! It is all measured and usually has a serving or 2 of veggies, so I say go for it.

I think the large photos were stretching the screen Barb because this page is back to normal. I get in to Vegas Thursday afternoon.

Lisa- I have my day of surgery photo, but I need to scan it, as it was from my 35mm camera, not my digital camera. And my scanner isn't hooked up to my computer right now, so I'll work on it this weekend. I have a retirement party tonight and a baseball game tomorrow(GO PADRES!!!) and a baby shower Saturday, so I'll try to fit that in! I want a post that shows I've had more dramatic results. I feel like I look the same! We'll see about a cruise. I'd love to do one since I never have, but I was supposed to take my nephew to Japan next June for his high school graduation. My sister isn't talking to me right now, so who knows if that will happen. At least I'll have plenty of time to save up! Barb- Have we heard from Lucymann and Barb123? Are they still going to Vegas? They haven't posted in awhile.

I was 36 when I was banded. I think you should go for it. Do you have diabetes now or are you saying you are at risk for those things? Either way, the surgery is not "extremely dangerous" and you will be in much better shape to actually grow old in good health! Best of health to you!

Thanks for the compliments. I still feel like a fatty! Ha! Pinky- If you used Photo Bucket, there is a button on there that say "resize". I think I used the one that says "message boards". I hope that helps. Mary

I think it is 16,000 at Lapbelt.net in San Diego. I went to Tijuana Mexico and paid $8500. There are many ads on this site. Good luck in your search.

No Need for Antidepressants After Banding?
socalgal3 replied to chimboree26's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I took myself off my anti-depressants when I had my surgery last June. I have been doing well for the most part, but I realized that it wasn't just about my weight. I still struggle with depression and have considered going back on my meds at times. For now, I am managing, but I wouldn't say that banding cures depression! haha -
You can't really see my body in these, but you can tell a little in my face. I hid from the camera alot! I have more pix, but they need to be scanned. These I had from my digital cam.
